The Dance Of Eternity - Dream Theater | Sibelius Transcription

- 118 time signature changes! Omitted the first 45 seconds or so, because nothing really interesting happens. The bass solo was almost impossible to distinguish individual notes due to the overdrive on it, so this is the best I could do. Sibelius does not have a palm-muted distortion guitar sample, hence the lack of any. It also only has one decent synth sample. The drum kit part is fairly inaccurate, I couldn't be bothered making it completely authentic. Excuses, excuses.
This song has more time signature changes than AC/DC has in their entire discography combined
I mean... Do they have anything else but 4/4?
Ride On is 6/8, so that's one song for sure.
@@SynysterGatesNo2 probably some song is in 3/4
Probably more than most bands combined.
What do you mean? Of course AC/DC, or any non technical (emphasis on that word) doesn't have any time signature changes in a single song
"What time signature is this in?"
"Boy, It would be easier to tell you what time signatures it isn't in."
It is in 1.41/3.14
It's not in 7/11
meme meee _«7/11 is like...the greatest thing...»_ ( *Adam Neely wants to know your location* )
@@esauponce9759 incoming 7/11 vaporwave
I think the time signature is π/8
I can nail the Vocals for this song easy!
FurryCrew this is absolutely labrie's best vocal performance!
And John myung’s lyrics are just incredible!
Not a song
We can only dream of playing this..thus the name Dream Theater
I wonder what Beethoven would think if we could show him this.
Beethoven "That's cute..."
"What's A Guitar?"
@Hex Omega 🤣😂😂😂
Beethoven wouldn't understand it, he's too inside the box.
It would fall on deaf ears 🙄
Jordan Rudess is the king of all keyboardists!
This is freaking crazy! Much respect for your talent displayed in this transcription!
This is a total chaos. God, I love this band
5 seconds of this compositions have much more musical substance than 100 reggaeton albums
Bernabé García Sánchez infinite reggaeton albums*
I mean, the reggaeton rhythm is a 2 against 3 polyryhtm, so it still has musical substance, but then, they are two different things, it's like choosing between a 60's Fender strat or a 7 String Mayones Reguis, both different worlds
This is the best comment I’ve ever seen
Me : ( doesn't know to read sheet music)
( Finishes seeing this video )
Me : ( wtf )
I can read sheet music to an extent and fucking hell...
Me: (knows how to read sheet music)
(Finishes seeing this video)
Me: (wtf)
Such is Dream Theater.
bloody hell those changing time signatures at the end Kudos to whoever transcripted this.
I can finally headbang to this song
Dream theater: You know music theory? Let's forget that it exists and make something crazy.
Fans: This is the best thing I've ever heard.
They graduated from a music theory school
It’s more like: “you know how music theory says you should do this? We’re doing everything else”
@@constantino8857 so?
@Agent 0-1-0 well they "studied" in a music theory school aight?
@agent0-1-02 I mean, you're technically correct, but if you're talented enough to be accepted as a Berklee undergrad, you're practically good enough to graduate from most other conservatories.
Good luck memorizing this song!
Wow
Many notes
Such hard
Thiago urm
Adrie Pramudya hardest
Thiago didn't think prog nerds were so rude
Not even the notes are the issue, it's the tempo and time sig changes
That was sick I can't even imagine how long that took to transcribe and then write it out! Props!!
Hah! This is truly amazing! Great job :) You must've had incredible patience
This song has more notes than I’ve played in my whole life on guitar
Not a song
@@Snookbone tf u on lmao, dance of eternity isn't a song? lmao
This was a huge help in me transcribing my own drumming chart. Thank you
Is this file available somehow?
just wonder this is a bgm of a boss level in NES game
You have reached the final boss.
No need to excuse. It,s a FUNtastic job! 5* THANK for th JOY!
How has GOOD music become a meme?
Really appreciate! What a fantastic melodic dictaction the arranger!
The talent in Dream Theater is almost equal to Rush... These guys are so intelligent and their music ability is mind blowing... They are just pure musical genius
Awesome!!! I think it is a wonderful job that you have transcript it all by ear.....I can't do that yet so well... Keep up the good job
do you have the file to download somewhere?
Thank you for uploading this, i wanted to try it on bass and this will help me a lot
The most impressive thing is that you sat down and had the patience to write all this in Sibelius lmao
Its intense enough with all the meter changes.. and all the tempo changes. But measures when both tempo AND meters changes? How the heck do you play that
And tuplets
You play that by being Dream Theater. That's the only way. Or just learn it ?
Guitar by Tanmaya
Ignore all of that and play by matching with the recording
Ace Dragon That worked for me.
In this particular song you get used to its 100+ time signature changes once you've heard it a million times, you can just hum it and "play" along even if you don't have almost any musical theory knowledge like me because you start understanding the "phrasing" of the notes and it just comes natural
There is a planet conquering force, that jumps from planet to planet, conquers it, annihilates it and moves onto next galaxies.
ICYMI,
Force = Dream Theater
Planet = Time Signature.
As a classically trained pianist this is up there with Liszt concertos in turms of complete chaos and difficulty.
Mind = BLOWN!
How much time signature change you want
DT: Yes
3:44 - 14/16, 18/16, 12/16, and if you thought that was bad...a few measures later the keys, guitars and bass are playing septulets, sextuplets, and quintuplets respectively all at the same time!
Muito obrigado por essa contribuição!
Dang this transcription is insane!
This i s soo awsome to watch! Thanks for putting this up man!
WOW! I am seriously impressed... especially if you took the time to do all the notation on this. Very well done. Great job!
Thank you so much this is very helpful
Thanks a lot! I really wanted to know how to play the keyboard part, definitely helped.
Man, even Sibelius makes DT sound good.
This is commitment! Excellent job - it's great to see it scored.
The black beams can stretch, they can stretch really high.
*time signature change intensifies*
Thanks for posting this. Mike Portnoy posted a video that is completely different from this version. Portnoy's version is a great studio chart. I think it's all about the rhythm you feel and how you count out the time signature changes.
This madness. I love it
jesus fuck this is crazy
Yes because it's Dream Theater.
Yeah, Jesus is awesome with the guitar
I can practice complex rhythm with the sheet music with time signatures now. Thank you. ^_^
Incredible! I love this song and would appreciate it even more if I understood what's going on. I really struggle with time signatures and rhythmic theory. I'd love some tips on the subject of possible!
oh fricking god congratulations on doing this on your own holy jeez
I sight read the keyboard part with my 4 string bass. Piece of cake.
Luis Gmo and we’re all so very impressed with your internet claim of doing something.
congrats on having no life
Great job, thanks a lot for this!
GREAT WORK, MAN!!!!! IMPRESSIVE!!
Genius.
This is the biggest flex for showing off you know music theory lmao
I realize much of this is computer generated, but THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU! I was looking for sheet music that would help me understand songs like this (I'm an advanced drummer and intermediate piano player). This is what I was looking for.
Wow great job
Great job!! I bet it was very hard work
ps. I recorded a quick drum cover of this song the other day. If anyone wants to check it out...it would mean a lot to me.
How do you get that guitar sound on sibelius? The distorted + overdrive sound on Sibelius 8 all sound utter wank and like the worst fuzz pedal in existence on mine
ikr sibelius does a good job with all the orchestral instruments (and the piano sound is phenomenal) but wtf is up with the electric guitar?
Amazing.
slow it to 0.5 and it still cool, oldies feelin
"what time signature is"
"Yes"
This is really great, Is it possible to get the sibelius file?
Amazing
My eyesssss
At 1:23 he does an octave he plays two notes (two B)
3:49
That is crazy! Is it supposed for each instrument to have each speed?
John Vox yeah I wondered the same thing, thats insane
Yes. It's just a trill.
Wow that's awesome ollie. Good job. It looks incredibly difficult to play though - especially the bass part.
How long did it take?
This ' music ' is so cold.i try ? Bit i can t find any soul in it.
Music is really a mater of taste .
Like you fell life , you fell music.
12/16, 10/16... 11/16... Been playing percussion for 20 years and I'm wondering whats the best way to count these measure to learn the feels? What do you guys think... 1,2,3,4,5,6,1,2,3,4,5,6 for 12? etc? I don't even know man, so fast. Great Transcription, holy cow.
While Dream Theater's music is impressive. But I couldn't help but to think this song would make an excellent video game final boss track.
It’s a medley of many very short compositions
Just to let you guys know, there's a misplaced drum note on the forth bar after changing to 100bpm
The left hand keyboard notation is very high and hard to read the first few measures, I would recommend using G-clef there.
Daniël Wijma true. 16 year old me didn't know any better woops
i need the drums part.. please..!!
I am sure that this time signature was composed by Rudess sir.....
3:06 sounds so sick
and its in a 4/4 time signature
Brutal
What you get when you are so good that the hardest music in the world isn't hard enough, so you have to invent a harder one...
Insane!!!
Beautiful transcription! Could you possibly send the transcription as a PDF file? This would be super helpful as I am covering this song with my band and reading it off of RUclips is pretty unconfortable. Thanks a lot
This is great, i would love a pdf file of this is thats at all possible!!!
Now let’s throw in some key changes.
Its like a black midi creator tried to compose some snes jrpg boss song.
uhhhh yeahhhh! bravooo
That's really scary, should practice a ton before even thinking of attempting this one.
Hello man, i'm also interested in the pdf file, or sib file, can you share it?? Thank you very much.
+Vasco José Pereira can you please send me the PDF file? Thanks!
at 4 mins where it starts with the 9/8 6/8 time signature. it doesnt seem right... am i just wrong? the time signature seems off
+aravis123 oh god that was my bad, didnt see the rest at the start.
+aravis123 there still seems to be something odd about the second measure with 9/8 and 6/8 though
+aravis123 No he got all the meters right. What's making it sound a little off is probably the shitty MIDI on the drums or something not making the accents/downbeats loud and clear enough.
+aravis123 jordan and john put a bit of vibrato on the tied notes, a function I can't really emulate in sibelius
the 9/8 did feel rushed....trying to follow the best I can but obviously there's alot going on.
The only main reason I like this song is because of the appropriate title name. I find that funny. It would take us mere mortals that long to play this goddamn song. :P
How would a 9 String looks like in sheetmusic?
Dude.
DUDE.
1:12 I haven't touched a keyboard in years, but I think I can play that part. Up until 1:31 of course...
GREAT JOB DUDE !!! where can i find the sib file ?
i think you looking for hudson book transcription portnoy for drums
I’m trying to convince my brother to learn this on the sax
😂😂
están súper
3:04 Wait... WHAT?!!!!
