The black PM2 salt has me excited. Particularly for forward deployed military, this knife can now be carried on the body, rain or shine, for days on end without any major maintenance needed. Well heat-treated magnacut will withstand any reasonable knife use in the field and continue to work for you.
I am loving the new trend towards rust proof steels and hardware. I’ve wanted that for years and glad it’s becoming a thing now. I do have to credit quiet carry knives for really pioneering that.
I only have three modern knives and they're all Spydercos. Keep thinking I should try another brand but there are so many Spydercos to grab my attention. I'm a fan boy.
Spyderco makes great knives and the Paramilitary 2 is one of them, but if this is the most innovative knife in 2024, the knife industry is heading in the wrong direction. This feels more like a Hollywood lifetime achievement award than an innovation award. I heard it was a close battle between the Paramilitary 2 and the new Hinderer with the use of the hollow grind for the 1st time. The judges had a difficult time trying to determine which was more innovative.
The Knife industry is a long way down the wrong path now. The ridiculous amount of cheap Chinese knives that have flooded the market over the last few years are the reason. Everyone keeps eating them up so I dont see it changing anytime soon either.
Yes, changing the grind or the steel on a knife is not innovation. I think it would be better to not hand out the award if they can't find anything worthy of it.
spyderco is the best knife company in the world and i wish they stay around for a long long time and keep ownership in the family. sal and eric are legends.
Spyderco doesn’t mess around with their handle game.. love the way their g10 feels in hand, very snug, the bi directional pattern on their frn handles are also very nice and don’t even get my started on the yojimbo lines textures.. excellent stuff!
I noticed that the Bodacious has another difference from the Shaman. The guard no longer bites your finger in a compression lock when closing the knife, which was a complaint some people had about the Shaman.
Was very excited for the Bodacious when I first saw it as I dream of Spyderco models without choils. Then realizing its g10 with s30v for almost $300. I am ok with g10 and s30v for about $200. Where is the Magnacut or Cruwear? Whats that going to be $400??
The Bodacious looks like a really good backup to your second fixed blade (the backup, so a third) When you have one you have none and when you have two you have one.
For real.. I put my preorder in 8 months ago and still no word about the release. And Spyderco just put out a new Reveal. The knives from that last reveal ain’t even available yet! Whiskey tango foxtrot!!
Me too dude. You’d think it would’ve released along side the DLC version. I’ve been patiently waiting & waiting for my preorder. They probably want people to buy both models
I could not be more excited for the Bodacious, it's the knife I've been asking for for 15 years now. I hope they make it in so many variations, I'll buy several if they do the same MagnaCut Salt treatment as that Para 2 and definitely the CruCarta combo.
I need the last 1 shown, the shaman, but maybe a way more affordable, but also more front flipper with the compression lock, I want that knife, but something way more fidget friendly
Spyderco makes excellent knives but they’ve relied on sprint runs for a long time. Michael Janich is a superstar. No one explains steel better than he does
I feel like only a small amount of people really understand what a mic drop this is. They did the same thing years ago with S110V and then again with Maxamet. Spyderco are consistently bringing out the absolute bleeding edge steel options while other companies are still banging out AUS steels and their premium options are S30/35VN.
When I saw they had a NEW Reveal I was pretty irked. I put in my preorder 8 months ago for the satin pm2 MagnaCut and I still have no clue when it’s releasing.
Spyderco won the Blade Magazine award at Blade Show for "Most Innovative American Design" with their Salt Paramilitary 2🤔 I honestly don't understand how a Paramilitary 2 which is a knife designs that's been around since 2010, with magnacut a blade steel that's been around for almost three years now can win this award🤷♂️ How the hell is it innovative to just change the blade steel on an existing knife design and slightly change the texturing of its handle🤔 So Blade Magazine is telling us that no other American production knife company or American custom knife make made any knife designs that were more innovative than the Spyderco Salt Paramilitary 2🤔 Giving the Spyderco Salt Paramilitary 2 this award is insulting to all American knife makers!!!!!
I’m sorry, but they sold me a Delica with the blade not centered and blew me off when I called. I now have a spectacular ($195) zip-189 Katsu zk-01. Why would I gamble with another Spyderco, and pay more in the process?
Spyderco could be more innovative. Is time to add more creativity in design, especially the handles. the PM2 got my attention, but a lot more could be done in their knfie lineup.
Making a near totally corrosion proof knife isn't just slapping a highly corrosion resistant blade on a knife and calling it a day. There's a lot more to it than that. Galvanic corrosion is no joke and will ruin things quickly.
I respect Spyderco for putting in the work to make a corrosive knife especially for fishermen, but the truth is pretty much all Spyderco knives follow a very simler design. I even have a PM2 in Maxamet and its edge retention is insane. All it needs is the occasional strop.
Great knives, warranty not great my friend broke the tip and they wouldn’t replace it for him. He is active in the national guard. But I still like their knives. but lost respect for them a little bit.
When they started promoting the bodacious I couldn’t believe it. It’s a shaman with a different name and same price tag. Minuscule differences are not enough. Seems like a money grab since they understand the collectors market and how ravenous it can be.
Knives are tools, just like screwdrivers and pliers, I have drawers full of them all, but not one screwdriver over over $100 But then I'm a Boomer and had a knife in my pocket since the 3rd grade, every day. Millennials screwed the Knife market when they graduate college and got their first knives.
They sponsored their award… a design over 15 years old cannot be most innovative… using mangacut doesn’t make a knife model innovative, what a load of craps
Spyderco is so overrated and boring. And their prices keep rising lol! The only reason people don't talk about that more is because Benchmade is off being the dumbest brand in the industry.
Name one business whose prices haven't risen... I don't know that anyone has been impervious to inflation. Which other company pushes new steels at the rate Spyderco brings to market?

Well heat-treated magnacut will withstand any reasonable knife use in the field and continue to work for you.
I have one and I'm definitely not using it for anything like you're suggesting, but it's pretty dope. Highly recommended
Asking the questions we really want to know about. Bodacious. Thanks buddy!
I am loving the new trend towards rust proof steels and hardware. I’ve wanted that for years and glad it’s becoming a thing now. I do have to credit quiet carry knives for really pioneering that.
Spyderco just nails the ergonomics on most of their models.
When is the paramilitary 2 salt with satin blade and yellow and black g10 coming out? I really want to buy one.
Ya I’d be all over a satin pm2 salt
I only have three modern knives and they're all Spydercos. Keep thinking I should try another brand but there are so many Spydercos to grab my attention. I'm a fan boy.

@@zdbrownieBINGO !
Spyderco - ... changes materials on a old design...
Blade Show - Award!
Clear signs of how sad the knife market/industry really is atm
And it is a DESIGN award... give them a "Most Spirit Runs produced in a year"-award or something.
spyderco is the best knife company in the world and i wish they stay around for a long long time and keep ownership in the family. sal and eric are legends.

Spyderco is the best! Nerding out on steel!
I'm from UK but I'm a big fan of spyderco knives. They just keep getting better! And more expensive, unfortunately.
Wunderschöne Messer! Ich bin immer wieder begeistert.
Weiter so 👍 💪 🇩🇪!!!
Spyderco ❤

The Spyderco Military 2, Compression-Lock, is one of my all-time favorites. I would like to have a Military 2 'Salt!" :-) Peace, Stiletto :-)
I can't wait to get the Crucarta Manix 2 Xl and the Bodacious.
Why not use the smock button in all the compression locks?
Love my pm2 salt in magnacut...very slicey indeed 🤙🏻
Michael Janich and Spyderco. Can’t lose
Love spyderco the Quality of workmanship never fails
The Bodacious looks like a really good backup to your second fixed blade (the backup, so a third)
When you have one you have none and when you have two you have one.
When is the satin pm2 salt releasing?

I agreed Spyderco knives are the best! I just got a Manix 2 in Crucarta, and I love it!!
I could not be more excited for the Bodacious, it's the knife I've been asking for for 15 years now. I hope they make it in so many variations, I'll buy several if they do the same MagnaCut Salt treatment as that Para 2 and definitely the CruCarta combo.
I love my Pm2 salt with magnacut 👌👌👌

Love the yojimbo
💯
Bodacious was ridden successfully. I am waiting on the uncoated Magnacut PM2
Spyderco always win
Spyderco makes excellent knives but they’ve relied on sprint runs for a long time. Michael Janich is a superstar. No one explains steel better than he does
Nice 🤟🏿🤟🏿🤟🏿🤟🏿
The Bodacious looks 👌
I'm stoked for rex-121. And a PRODUCTION steel! Scalpers be damned.
I feel like only a small amount of people really understand what a mic drop this is. They did the same thing years ago with S110V and then again with Maxamet. Spyderco are consistently bringing out the absolute bleeding edge steel options while other companies are still banging out AUS steels and their premium options are S30/35VN.
Spyderco for the win !
Salt 2 is an awesome knife. I want to know y the barrel spacer behind the blade is stainless steel?? The whole knife is blacked 🕳 out. Y??🙄🤙✌️
Why did they not make a shaman like fixed blade?
Most Innovative sounds like it would require more than just a new blade steel and grip pattern on the handle... just me though...
Yeah they are without a doubt the least innovative knife out there. I thought this was gonna be a joke.
I want to see a salt yojimbo 2 and yojumbo, and some DLC Cru Carta Yo's
Magnacut Yojimbo, make it happen SMKW
I’m beefing with Spyderco based on their preorder terms. Preorders from a company that large should never have birthdays.
When I saw they had a NEW Reveal I was pretty irked. I put in my preorder 8 months ago for the satin pm2 MagnaCut and I still have no clue when it’s releasing.
I have been waiting 5 months for the Manix 2 LW in magnacut
Shaman in CruWear, _please_
That would be sweet!
I always like spyderco
In my humble opinion....PM2 is the best EDC knife ever. Just my opinion.
Not a bad opinion and some would agree...many more would argue but that is half the fun lol
Is that Bruce Willis?
Nah 😂 he can actually put a sentence together
Yah
Nice looking Glock 19
❤
I’m sorry, but they sold me a Delica with the blade not centered and blew me off when I called. I now have a spectacular ($195) zip-189 Katsu zk-01. Why would I gamble with another Spyderco, and pay more in the process?
I'll believe it when i see it on the bodacious... Lol
Innovation would be figuring out how to make and ambi design like everyone else🙄 The PM2 or PM3 being ambi would be a game changer
the comp lock is ambi. first examples of that lock were reversed to what we know now, it works in both hands :)
Spyderco could be more innovative. Is time to add more creativity in design, especially the handles. the PM2 got my attention, but a lot more could be done in their knfie lineup.
Spyderco won "most innovative design"??? How??? Every Spyderco looks exactly the same!
Well, when you're right you're right. How did they get an award? Good question.
Making a near totally corrosion proof knife isn't just slapping a highly corrosion resistant blade on a knife and calling it a day. There's a lot more to it than that. Galvanic corrosion is no joke and will ruin things quickly.
Its not as easy as you think to make a knife that's completely corresion resistant. Just ask Benchmade. Their new water series rusts lol. 😂. Smh.
^ what they said
I respect Spyderco for putting in the work to make a corrosive knife especially for fishermen, but the truth is pretty much all Spyderco knives follow a very simler design. I even have a PM2 in Maxamet and its edge retention is insane. All it needs is the occasional strop.
Anxiously waiting for a left-handed Military 2 for the 10% of us wrong handed freaks.
knife
Bodacious in other steels..?

A remake is the innovative? F off. Lol
Not to say I don’t want one haha
I'll say it. I don't want one.
@@charlessalmond7076 totally get it.

@Mastermindyoung14 Don't be stupid. Only Benchmade's prices have gone up more than Spyderco's. If you followed the industry you would know this.
The axis lock is plastic and it should be steel to match the rest of the knife. That plastic makes it look cheap such a shame. Do better spiderco!
A Glock 19 and a Spyderco PM2 are great friends to have around every day 🫶
Good pair to carry any day
