  • Slurpees Hold on Victory as Bashers ALmost Erase a 5-Run Deficit
    Slurpees built a five-run lead in the fifth inning and then held off Bashers's charge for an 8-7 victory on Saturday.
    Slurpees earned the victory despite allowing Bashers to score five runs in the fifth inning. The offensive firepower by Bashers was led by Christian V, Nathan, Tyler, Cole F, and Enzo, all driving in runs in the frame.
    Bashers got things started in the first inning. Bashers scored one run on a stolen base.
    In the bottom of the first inning, Slurpees tied things up at two when Logan S tripled on a 3-0 count, scoring two runs.
    Slurpees pulled away for good with one run in the third inning. In the third Logan grounded out, scoring one run.
    Slurpees scored five runs in the fourth inning. Rohin J, Cameron J, and Logan all moved runners across the plate with RBIs in the inning.
    Cameron got the start for Slurpees. The hurler went one and two-thirds innings, allowing two runs on two hits, striking out four and walking one.
    Finn was on the hill for Bashers. The pitcher allowed six hits and eight runs over three and a third innings, striking out five. Christian threw two-thirds of an inning in relief.
    Slurpees collected eight hits on the day. Cameron, Logan, and Rohin all collected multiple hits for Slurpees. Rohin, Logan, and Cameron each collected two hits to lead Slurpees. Matthew O led Slurpees with three stolen bases, as they ran wild on the base paths with 11 stolen bases. Slurpees was sure-handed in the field and didn't commit a single error. Logan had the most chances in the field with 11.
    Finn led Bashers with two hits in two at bats. Bashers didn't commit a single error in the field. Hudson had the most chances in the field with seven. Bashers tore up the base paths, as four players stole at least two bases. Evan P led the way with three.
