Olson’s Walk-Off Picture Perfect Ending in Slurpee’s Victory over the Gators
It came down to the wire on Tuesday, with Slurpees taking victory on a dramatic walk-off single in the late innings that sealed their win over the Gators. The game was tied at two with Slurpees batting in the bottom of the sixth when Matthew O singled on a 3-2 count, scoring one run.
The pitching was strong on both sides. Slurpees pitchers struck out 14, while WCLL Gators AA pitchers sat down 11.
Slurpees started things in the first inning when Matthew doubled on a 1-0 count, scoring one run.
The Gators evened things up at two in the top of the third inning. They scored one run when Jack D singled.
Cameron J led things off on the pitcher's mound for Slurpees. The bulldog went four and two-thirds innings, allowing two runs on three hits and striking out 12.
Angelo G was on the mound for the Gators. Angelo went two innings, allowing two runs on three hits and striking out five. Ryan S threw three innings in relief out of the bullpen.
Matthew went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead Slurpees in hits. Slurpees didn't commit a single error in the field. Rohin J had 14 chances in the field, the most on the team.
The Gators were sure-handed and didn't commit a single error. Angelo made the most plays with one.
