Baseball vs Softball Round 2. A battle for the ages.. kinda. A team of almost all college softball players takes on a team of seasoned baseball players. Go see who wins!!
When I was in 13u baseball we scrimmaged a 13u softball team and won the baseball portion 11-0, while losing the softball portion 8-1 or something of the sort. It’s not that one sport is easier than the other, there’s different aspects that make each hard, and softball players will lose at baseball while baseball players lose at softball.

I played slow pitch in 8th grade with future varsity starting softball players. Only 1 of the girl's softball players were as good as the guys and it was just at hitting. Another 1 was 5'10 and 175 and was bad at hitting and not smart fielder. I easily avoided being out at home plate. I slide headfirst and never was tagged. That 1 girl was a better hitter than me easily. I also played with future Varsity softball players in 6th grade as well. None as good as guys. I went to a middle school of 2000+ and a big Highschool thats in the biggest division. I played a varsity starter volleyball player 6'1 and super fast serve in Team sports. I how served her most of the time doing a underhand serve. I also scored more points for the school year even though I was in cast 4 weeks. Also I as crappy at all other parts of Volleyball. National women soccer team in 1 country got destoryed by U16 boys. Where women are equal and better is Chess. Men have no advantage over women at boardgames. I've lost to a girl even when I was good for a 8th grader. She was better. I did not like losing to anyone. I even beat 1 out of the top 4 players in the Chess Club of 20 something players. He was so shocked he did not want a rematch. 2 out of 4 of the remaining top 4 I lost to I beat them when I was in 7th grade. Chess is about learning and the spent more time learning Chess than I did and became smarter at it than I was. Win or Loss the competition is always good to have. But you learn more from losing than winning. A woman I know of went bowling first time in her life and beat everyone with a perfect game. About 16 people boqling and she bowled a perfect game. Sudoku puzzles I can't even do and my Mother in her 60s can do them easily.
I mean what do you expect when the boys are throwing it right down the middle slow and the girls are throwing it as hard as they can trying to strike them out.

Baseball hitters always have a hard time with well pitched softballs because they are not used tot he mechanics. The mound is closer so the reaction time is different and the ball rises in softball as opposed to falls in baseball.
It’s kinda unfair the the boys are pitching under hand and, softly. I think it would be different if the boys were throwing over hand as hard as they could but good game 😀
they're playing softball here not baseball so they have to pitch by softball rules, they're pitching softly because they have no experience pitching underhand like that.

That's the whole point of the video. Baseball skills don't transfer seamlessly to softball. If they were all softball players it wouldn't be a softball vs baseball video.
It would be the same thing if you played baseball against the boys you should have a boy pitching for the girls team. The mechanics of pitching overhand vs underhanded are just so much different.
@MIGGYꪜ You have to be able to pitch on a regular basis to have any velocity on your pitches. Guys who pitch 90+ mph aren't just suddenly capable of throwing that fast.

In little league baseball back in the 80's we had a girl pitcher on our team who would smoke just about everybody. She had heat and a little bit of junk, but more heart than anything. She lifted everybody up and we all loved her for it.

It is UNFAIR. Heres why. You where pitching slow to them underhand, which is expected, since you arent a professional softball player. But it would have been evened out had you played with a baseball for the other half and made them throw overhand. Cause the boys got a handicap having to pitch underhand and never using a baseball. So just do a part 2 but use a baseball and no weak throwing.

Pitching differences aside (which started out being interesting), missing the easy grounder at 4:30 by 3B AND SS... pretty much made the video go from a "let's see how this goes as a legit competition" to "guys are just screwing around because the girls are supposed to win this one." At that point it's not fun to watch anymore because everyone knows the outcome. It's a good premise and I'm sure everyone there was having fun. But as a spectator, at that point, it just becomes boring.
You should have made it where when the girls were hitting it was playing on a baseball field with baseball pitchers pitching, and switch to a softball field when the guys are hitting with softball pitching. Hardly a fair game when the guys are throwing slow pitch and the girls are throwing hard rise balls.
Before clicking, here’s what I was hoping for: A baseball and softball field next to each other, so the following scenarios could happen: *GAMEPLAY POSSIBILITY #1:* - when softball girls are at bat, they play against a baseball pitcher who’s throwing a baseball overhand from the baseball mound, and they have to run to the baseball bases. - when baseball boys are at bat, they play against a softball pitcher who’s throwing a softball underhand from the softball mound and they run to the softball bases. *GAMEPLAY POSSIBILITY #2:* - when softball girls are at bat, they play against a baseball pitcher who’s throwing a softball underhand from the softball mound, and they have to run to the softball bases. - when baseball boys are at bat, they play against a softball pitcher who’s throwing a baseball overhand from the baseball mound and they run to the baseball bases. (or to keep it simpler, combine the two….staying on the baseball field for, say, 4 innings, then switching over to the softball field for 4 innings)…. - softball field innings would play out exactly like the vid. (each side playing softball) - baseball field innings would play out with each side playing baseball. I kinda prefer the idea of switching from field to field each inning, makes your brain have to work harder to switch over, but either way….so long as they guys put forth their best effort in both scenarios. (sorry, minus the boys’ obvious lack of training in underhand pitching - I don’t entirely fault them for lobbing beach balls up there - but they didn’t play their hardest. They started to, but it didn’t last. They dogged it after the first inning because their pride was hurt).
Jeez, if they did a baseball game, that’d be really interesting. Our bats are 7-11 ounces heavier, the bags are 30 feet farther apart, fence is typically 100-150 feet farther back, stealing and leading off is different, etc.
@@JoshWalker5 that may not be a bad idea, I was thinking a pitching machine, like the ones used in prep league. (We got one at my house when I was young so I could practice off the field)

I think they should redo this video with same rules and everything but have the boys pitch a baseball
The amount of frustration i had watching this video
It’s not really fair to the boys their pitching underhand slow and down the middle the girls are pitching as hard as they can to strike out the boys😬
Before clicking, here’s what I was hoping for:
A baseball and softball field next to each other, so the following scenarios could happen:
*GAMEPLAY POSSIBILITY #1:*
- when softball girls are at bat, they play against a baseball pitcher who’s throwing a baseball overhand from the baseball mound, and they have to run to the baseball bases.
- when baseball boys are at bat, they play against a softball pitcher who’s throwing a softball underhand from the softball mound and they run to the softball bases.
*GAMEPLAY POSSIBILITY #2:*
- when softball girls are at bat, they play against a baseball pitcher who’s throwing a softball underhand from the softball mound, and they have to run to the softball bases.
- when baseball boys are at bat, they play against a softball pitcher who’s throwing a baseball overhand from the baseball mound and they run to the baseball bases.
(or to keep it simpler, combine the two….staying on the baseball field for, say, 4 innings, then switching over to the softball field for 4 innings)….
- softball field innings would play out exactly like the vid. (each side playing softball)
- baseball field innings would play out with each side playing baseball.
I kinda prefer the idea of switching from field to field each inning, makes your brain have to work harder to switch over, but either way….so long as they guys put forth their best effort in both scenarios.
(sorry, minus the boys’ obvious lack of training in underhand pitching - I don’t entirely fault them for lobbing beach balls up there - but they didn’t play their hardest. They started to, but it didn’t last. They dogged it after the first inning because their pride was hurt).

Should do a crossover game where the girls pitch softball and the guys pitch baseball. That would only be fair!
Jeez, if they did a baseball game, that’d be really interesting. Our bats are 7-11 ounces heavier, the bags are 30 feet farther apart, fence is typically 100-150 feet farther back, stealing and leading off is different, etc.
Why can't people just watch and enjoy people want to tell others what they should've done from there couch that's embarrassing
If the girls lost with a D1 Softball Pitcher vs some guy lobbing a ball down the heart of the plate I’d be damn surprised.
Next time we are going to get a girl to pitch for the guys too
@@JoshWalker5 that may not be a bad idea, I was thinking a pitching machine, like the ones used in prep league. (We got one at my house when I was young so I could practice off the field)
So the girls are getting lobbed pitches and the boys are having to hit a college softball pitcher? Seems a little unfair but if they all had fun I guess that’s all that matters?
Maybe cause the guys are throwing 2 mph and the girls are throwing as hard as they can, try pitching a baseball and watch how good those girls do
