The moment a trainer tells you it's as simple as calories in vs calories out, and doesn't bullshit you with overcomplicated things, you know you've come to the right place. You've earned a sub for life my friend ;)
Not when you get older. He must train a lot of younger people. Once you get near menopause, if you are a woman, it does matter what type of food you eat.
I love the concept that 17/20 meals in a 4 day cycle are to follow your meal plan, but there’s flexibility in the other 3. LIFE HAPPENS!!! Family celebrations, special dining opportunities, travel, or a crazy craving are realities of life. I love that this healthy meal plan allows you to participate in “life” guilt-free. THIS makes it much more attainable than any food advice I’ve ever heard. Thank you for keeping it real for us real people!!!!!!
I love your advice about breaking meals into 4 day segments or 20 meals and eating on point for 17 of them. That's such practical advice that should make eating clean much more attainable.
Dude. Do you have eyes? Internet? Why cant you research yourself. This guy doesnt know how 7 billion bodies work. I feel sorry for you, putting your health trust in some one who just googled fitness. Come on man
One of the most underrated channels out there! No BS, very informative, straight to the point and easy to understand (as every video out there should be). Love this channel so much!
1. Manage diet (5 meals a day, 3 out of the 20 meals can be 🧋🍪🍩🍿🍫🍣🍚🍱🍘🥟🍛🍤🍲🥘🍜🥗anything) 2. Physical activity (preferably 5 times a week) 3. Drink more water 4. Eat healthy snacks 5. Get enough sleep
I agree that it can be a difficult space to navigate! My goal is to share the basics and help you guys get the most out of my training, thanks for watching
Thank for the 17/20 meals and 4 day cycle! I was doing the 4 day cycle already but now I feel more accountable & realistic knowing 3 out of 20 can be fun meals where I don’t feel guilty.
I've never been a "workout" person so it was a great feeling when last January (2020) I was finally (at 39yrs old) hitting the gym three times a week. I was feeling great. Then the craziness happened and I lost all motivation and gained a bunch of weight in 2020. I haven't been moving at all this winter and feeling pretty down but trying to come up with a plan. I've been looking at everything from endomorph diets and carb confusion and intermittent fasting and literally in the 6 mins of your video I feel inspired and less overwhelmed. A big thank you. 💜
Thank you for such honest and informative explanation. It's so refreshing to hear you admit that most diets work instead of trying to sell "one true way".
I’ve been following you for years and am so happy to see you enter the RUclips space! You should see if a place like butcherbox or something will sponsor the videos. Seems like pretty high quality proteins for a good deal and a lot of the foods you talk about
Thank you for the info. It’s nice to see a video that is more focused on giving good advice then making plates look pretty or over editing to where it no longer makes sense. Great work 👌🏼👍🏼
Great content, nice to have the simple and honest truth behind nutrition and diet. As an athlete when I was younger the best advice I got was, “you can never out train a bad diet” Keep I the info coming.
Wow! Great video. Very easy to follow and aesthetically pleasing. I wish more fitness videos on RUclips were like this.. I hope to see more videos like this from you!
This video is so easy to grasp and explains everything in such a simple way! You just do not need anything more! Thanks for sharing!!! So happy I found your channel :)
I LOVE how simple you put it. What a breath of fresh air. This video made me feel confident that I am on the right track, and that I don't need to continue the yo yo dieting I have been doing my whole life. Your awesome, thanks so much!
Pretty well rounded advise and anyone can benefit from this balanced approach. For myself, I've had great luck with eating whole foods and cutting calorie intake especially sugar and simple carb calories. I have an eating window between 10:00am to 6:00pm roughly. I don't eat a morning snack, I eat about 4 meals a day. I just found, for myself a petite girl, that 5 meals was too much for me. I try to watch my macros but it's not perfect. I strive for 40/40/20 but if my energy is low I may add more fat. Women in particular have done really well with a good amount of healthy fats in their diet according to a few studies and I've found this to be true.
This was great advise. Thankyou so much. I have been trying to lose weight with the similar kind of plan but my weight is plateaued now for almost a month and I don't know what to do about it.
Thank you I was waiting for a video like this, that deal with facts, which makes sense. This is a doable, and very healthy lifestyle to maintain all through your life.
I really enjoy your page. Love some of these fitness youtubers but a lot is just stuff for views. I appreciate the information that you put on here. Keep it up thank you!
I really enjoy your no bs content. Can you talk about the last layer of mid section body fat, no matter the weight lose compromising muscle, can’t get rid of the love handles. Thanks.
Yes I have that too,, the first place I loose it is my chest and arms, last place mid section. I think it's because of adrenals and cortisol (stress hormones).
Thank you for this. I watched your previous videos and got ideas for my eating practices. Im applying them now and loving the energy I get, most specially in the gym. Thank you again. Keep it up! 👌🏽☺️
Liked this video and subscribed so I can keep coming back to get sound advice. Wanna do this weight loss the healthy way and am excited to watch all your other videos. Thank you for sharing you knowledge! ♥️

Never been sold on fad diets....Your method has helped me get in tip top shape for long distance competitive runs without feeling like I'm "dieting". I still want to have my ice cream, wine, and cake and look forward to them. Thanks MM
You really inspire me Magnus, thank you! I was at my lowest weight before Quarantine, and then I gained it back while staying at home. Ready to get back to it xxo thanks
Thank you for this! Would love to have a broken down video where you explain macros and how we can figure them out for our bodies etc if that were possible. You just explain things so clearly, I appreciate how you break down these concepts and make them so accessible.
Pretty basic, that is why it definitely works for everyone. Second week on this "diet-which-is-not-a-diet" (+ every other day workout) and I can feel the change (and I am starting to see it...) Thank you for sharing your simple and efficient method, Magnus!
I would love to watch a video that delves more deeply into "slow carbs." So many family members and friends have cut carbs entirely from their diet. I've tried to stick to complex carbs and avoid refined, simple carbs. But, it'd help to understand the differences - and how slow carbs can help an overall diet - - - also suggestions for which types are best and how to incorporate them into each meal of the day.
Did they go on a carnivore diet? If they are still eating vegetables than they are still eating carbs. If its keto they stick to 50 grams or less of carbs. If its not keto but just a low carb diet that is usually 100 grams or less of carbs. If a person is on a low carb or keto diet they usually will get most of their carbs from vegetables. If they are on carnivore diet than yes they really did cut out all carbs.
This was a very informative and helpful video! Easy simple steps and point to follow. I really love your rule about 3/20 - 3 are whatever you want, and 17 is staying on track. That's a really manageable way to balance it all. thank you :)
Finally! The answer I was looking for! Counting calories vs macros! Thank you so much! I was getting frustrated on going over my carbs but staying under my calorie budget 🤯
Thank you so much for this breakdown and solid advice. I’d love to see a video on more of an explanation on macros and how to eat in good balance, including an explanation of simple versus complex carbs and when is best to have one versus the other. Also pros and cons of eating before/after workouts and how to plan meals around workouts (what is best to eat before/after) would be SUPER helpful. I love the way you explain things in a to the point and honest way. Definitely plan on checking out your app!!!
@magnus method please consider taking in new clients for a zoom consultation, I think a lifestyle session with you would be life changing. Especially after tailored to a specific person’s needs. Wishful thinking 🙏🏽
Great stuff, Magnus. Really enjoying watching your videos - quick and to the point. Would love to see you do a video on working out at ages 30 - 40 while avoiding gym injuries/aches/pains (also how to boost t-levels naturally at those ages with Ashwaganda etc).
Love the content, most people are definitely not aware of these basics. Personally I find maintaining the weight quite easy once having rules like this, the challenge is often a more drastic fat loss or muscle gain (and both at the same time). Looking forward to your upcoming videos! ☀️
Magnus, I am so glad you have covered the basics very well. Some physics, some biology, some nutritional science 😀. This is a concise, precise, easy to understand video. No unnecessary rambling here or in any of your videos. Thank you so much for all your time and effort as well as the knowledge you are sharing. Best of all, you are letting us know that it's okay to have the occasional ice cream but be mindful of what we are eating and working out the rest of the time.Love and blessings ❤️❤️
Magnus I would love to hear you talk about intermittent fasting. I looooooove your videos and your professional approach. Your content is gold in this crazy RUclips world. Thanks again for sharing your knowledge
