    Grammy-winning favorite Jeff Lorber boasts an all-star lineup of top shelf musicians here (Phillips; Sills; Griffin; and Darius--all of whom have successful solo careers).
    During the late Eighties, Lorber took a break from his own recordings and focused primarily on producing other artists. His return in the early Nineties with such breakout cds as "Worth Waiting For" and "West Side Stories" gave long time-Lorber fans the quality, high octane, funky and energetic performances that have become his signature sound. The Philly born keyboard virtuoso never follows trends; he stays true to maintaining his own infectious style during the past four decades--the true mark and definition of an artist. Jeff Lorber--there is no substitute! And we love that! Thank you and God bless!🎹🎹🎶🎼🎵

    I saw Jeff Lorber Fusion my 2nd year of college at
    Kent State Univ around 1983’. There was no Kenny G. Just a little fellow named Kenny Gorelick who played every wind instrument you can imagine. What a trail of smoke both left on that stage. OMG.Jeff is such a jazz hero to me. I doubt there is an album/disc of his I do not own. Wizard Island is still my No#1!

      Hey!! I was at the University of Akron and it was 1981 and Jeff came back twice to Kent State and I was there both times!!! Someone turned me on to him in 1979 my lst year in college and I have been a fan ever since! I have everything he has ever made as well as with other musicians (check out Vibes Alive) I'm a heavily biased fan and he is beyond great. It's so nice to know that we were there at the same time and you appreciated the group!

    And this is exactly why most people don't like jazz. Jeff Lorber is a phenomenal player but this music is just non-descript. Bland.....So many notes, so little music. So much modern jazz is about how great the players are, not how good the songs are. Because the songs are mostly just a vehicle for the musicians to go nuts. Gets pretty boring after awhile. More isn't more, guys....

    • @AgentFlea
      @AgentFlea Год назад

      I sort of agree with you. This song has 1 good motif that I absolutely LOVE, but I can't deny that it's the same few bits with different variations. Maybe a good comparison would be to Joe Satriani. A lot of it is musical wanking, but I think he does put a bit more emphasis on the structure of the 'song'. As opposed to emphasis on "A vehicle for musicians to go nuts". It also reminds me of modern prog-metal. Which I think has taken a lot from Jazz/Dubstep-ish with the idiosyncratic structures. Again, emphasizing more on pretty sounds and musicianship, as opposed to a traditional idea of a song

    • @blackpianoish
      @blackpianoish Год назад +1

      that's why i like music..!!
      it is just 12 notes..if you understand the 12 notes and their relationship to eachother then all music "sounds the same" other than tone and timbre..
      the more i listen, the more i like all music..
