I missed the first enemy skill and didn't have the materia to kill the big snake thing. And once I saw the thing I thought I'd get alot if good stuff for killing him. So I grinded from level 14 to level 25 using only random encounters in the nearby cave and killed the snake. Imagine my devastation when I finaly did it, only got some gil, and then immediately died after he spawned again.
For the Aqualung Enemy Skill, you don't even have to go into the Gold Saucer prison, you can encounter the mob just by driving in the sand outside.

Wish I had read this sooner. Spent half an hour walking around the desert and never got a Harpy. First encounter in my car outside the desert area and I got him.
Just remember if you want Trine on all 4 E. Skill materials you’ll need to save the Wutai Padoga side quest until after you get the Highwind because the other two missable enemies which cast it occur before you get it.

I missed every single one of them and I'm already half way through the game and just got stuck so now i need to go back and find some 💀

Ok it took me over an hour but I was able to go back and get the second materia, really glad I did because without the skill "big guard" I wouldn't have been able to defeat the final boss of disc 1
how the hell did i miss the materia , i remember i picked that shit up when i meet red for the first time..
Fuck! I just started this game on my mobile and I missed this on the lab!
Matra magic will be the first skill, then L4 suicide. Then chocobuckle. Then beta. You can get all of these before the Gold Saucer

I have just missed it, fuck that
I hate those materia you get after cutscenes, because you see the materia, but then you have to fight a boss, so you naturally forget about the materia because some abomination hojo made is after your guts, then everyone says “Now we have to go here, let’s go here” so you naturally do that, but you forgot to pick up the dang materia

You can actually still get the Enemy Skill materia in Junon without being in the Shinra uniform i just figured it out

White Wind ALSO removes all debuffs from the party.
get beta was the first thing i did after kalm at level 16
You forgot to mention the chocobunkle skill, that is very powerful also

Final fantasy 7 noob here, can someone explain what discs are? I can hear them a lot but i dont what it means
The discs people talk about refer to different parts of the game. The game was originally released on the PS1 with 3 different discs for different parts of the game, so when people talk about sections of the game it's easier to categorize sections of the game by talking about what disc they are on. I'd suggest learning about where sections are and what disc without getting spoiled if you can.

What should I do if I'm in Nibelheim already?
Go back and grab the enemy skills before getting to disc 2, you’ll have to wait til the north crater to get laser though (I fucked that up too)

yes you can, take the bronco round the coast and walk back to Junon. talk to the lift guard a couple of times and he'll let you in the lift for 10 gil - then you can go to the basement room and grab it.
