  • 58 Years ago today! The Beatles US release of Meet The Beatles! The first American album that was issued by Capitol Records, which stayed at #1 for eleven weeks! Side one, consisting of "I Want to Hold Your Hand" and "I Saw Her Standing There" as the first two songs show the excitement built up from this album. Lennon's aggressive rhythm playing, Harrison's neat lead lines, McCartney's energetic bass line, Starr's nifty drum fills, and the four overdubbed handclaps really make this song pop.
In our cover of "I Want to Hold Your Hand," mixed in mono, instruments were deeply analyzed to match tones and technique of The Beatles playing. Heavily focusing on Ringo's bass drum brought up in the mixing stage really puts emphasis on the recording. Details such as George's small lead overdub in the verses and Paul's bass power chords in the middle eight were key factors to the final product.

We used an IPhone 12 Pro to film, transfered the videos onto the computer, and used VSDC Free Video Editor to put everything together.

Very nice work. Is the Gretsch Country Gent amplified through the VOX AC30C2X?

John has the tone turned way down on the Rickenbacker for this one.

Good but not great. The drumming is off and the guitar tone needs work. D minus.

It was our first cover, so we just recorded it and posted it. The newer ones are much better and much more accurate, but we might remake this one down the road.
