Very beautiful! I have been making dot mandalas for a year or so now and this year I wanted to send out hand-made ornaments rather than a boring Christmas card. Thanks for sharing your techniques :)
Thanks for watching. Yes, let the paint dry thoroughly between each layer. I use the hair dryer to set the paint so I can add the next row but to be extra safe, let it dry. Glad you enjoyed this project.
Awesome! I just picked up a several dozen assorted ornaments at Michaels clearance sale... picked up some purple and this will work perfectly!!! Thanks
Margareth, glad you enjoyed this tutorial. I'm still working on my clearance items too! Michaels had so many great colors! Share your ornaments when completed, would love to see.
just checked out the color palette site - amazing - I wish I had known about this site before. Thank u so much for sharing. So many colors to choose from.
Thank you Cindy. When painting all these dots I go into a very relaxed state! I love painting them. Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment.
WOW! Maria, this is simply Stunning! I'm going to start making these in July of this year as Christmas gifts to my children! You are so good at your dots. Thank you xxx
Hi Maeve. I'm so glad you enjoyed this Christmas ornament. These make great gifts. I plan to do some Christmas in July videos like last year so I hope you tune in then. Thanks so much for watching.
I love these two colors together! I pick up several packages of ornaments last week and have been painting! I have found that the Oui yogurt jars work well also. I usually use paper towel to keep them from getting scratched!
I am using this design on an ornament. I did have trouble with the larger dots wanting to run. I tried mixing several things in my paint because I didn’t have the product you showed. It is not available in the town where I Iive. I tried white glue and Mod Podge and neither seemed to help. I finally tried Alenes tacky glue and so far it seems to help. Still have to be careful how much paint is on the tool.
I'm glad you hit on the tacky glue. You might try having a blow dryer handy and hit it with some air to help firm up. Not too much or you night dry the paint too fast and crack it.
Perfect! I just picked up a trial set of various gel mediums ..... will give it a try for sure ... thanks Maria for a perfect informative instruction video ... my gloves will arrive Friday... and I will give this a go!!! Hugs !
Margareth, thanks for watching and your kind words. I love being able to use all these paints and mediums in so many projects. I think you'll love this style of painting. Thanks again for watching and taking the time to comment.
This is absolutely beautiful! I can't wait to give this one a try. Thank you for making this tutorial. I love watching and learning from your talent. ❤️🥰

Gorgeous project! So simple and so beautiful 💖 thank you for sharing such important tips regarding glass painting. My intention is to do a similar project! hope it will be ok 🤞Greetings from Romania!
Hello I painted a small christmas ornament from your video - it turned out okay, I was wondering if u use different size hooks for the bigger ornaments. If so would u be able to post what size hooks u use. Thank u very much. Your video was very easy to follow.
Hi Cathy. I think you are referring to the ornament stand? If so, the one I used is about 10". Search out Amazon or eBay for larger ones. Here's a link for a 13" - amzn.to/2IqvLR8 but you can find them even larger if you need. Thanks for watching!
Hi Dawn, I don't spray these since they don't get bumped around much and are carefully packed away. However, you can use a spray meant for protecting painted finishes. Thanks so much for watching!
Marion, thank you! These colors really popped against the purple. It's overwhelming to use so many colors so starting with just a few makes it manageable. Thanks for watching and commenting!
love this design. I would like to try it but have silver, blue and grinch green balls. I am no good at picking colors that go together.I thought I would use silver for the blue balls but could u recommend another color that would go with it. Any thoughts for the grinch green balls. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
Hi Cathy. What I like to do is search for color palettes and see what comes up. Here's a link to a palette with a green that might be what you have. If not, you can search this site and it will give you tons of ideas on colors to put together. Also, find a paint that is the color you have, do some dotting on card stock with other colors to see how you think they look together. Let me know how it turns out. I'm all for using what you have. This site is a great browsing site. Here's the link. colorpalettes.net/color-palette-3698/
Goodness this is gorgeous! I am soooo hooked! Your video was on the side bar and I thought ......humm....now I have looked at several. Each one a beauty. Question....do you have to spray this with a sealer after the design has dried? Thanks for sharing.
Hi Deborah. So glad you liked this project. No, I didn't spray with anything. You have to be careful and experiment if you add sealers to ornaments. I notice that some of the finishes can discolor with a sealer so you would have to experiment. Since these are not handled much, I don't worry about sealing.
Hi Julie, thank you so much! All of the tools and materials are listed in the description of the video with links. Hope you enjoy. Thanks for watching.
Hi Beverly. These glass balls were about 2-1/2". This is a great size for hanging on a tree or displaying on an ornament stand. I don't have a favorite size as I use all the way from the minis to bigger. I think it just depends on what appeals. Thanks for watching.
Hi Sandra. I don't spray as they are decorative. I've found adding a spray or brush on varnish can damage the original finish of the ornament. You could try and see if the spray affects the finish.
Hi Vanessa. I don't usually varnish as they are ornamental and not handled much. I notice that some of the finishes on these balls can discolor with varnish.
Very pretty and well cherished I'm sure.
Tfs & take care 🌺

So awesome. I will try this. I probably will have to wait by until each layer drys.
Thanks for watching. Yes, let the paint dry thoroughly between each layer. I use the hair dryer to set the paint so I can add the next row but to be extra safe, let it dry. Glad you enjoyed this project.

Clever stand. I will have to get some shelf liner! :D
It's very helpful Aislinn. Keeps the ornament from rolling. Thanks for watching.
@@SweetWillowDsgn I found a craft lathe on Amazon that does the same and also spins it so you can paint without touching the object. Very cool!

This is so pretty and looks expensive with those jewel colours. Very effective just using the two colours.

I changed a bit as I accidentally did 16 instead of 8! I went a little lower, turned out great!
Oh I bet 16 is pretty! Glad it turned out great. Thanks for watching.
Beautiful work
Thank you Anita! I appreciate you watching and taking the time to comment.
Do you seal it when finished
No, as these are ornaments and get light use, I didn't seal.
SOOOOOOO pretty
Thanks Annette. I appreciate you watching and taking the time to comment! Thanks so much.

Thank you Laura. The ball is 2.6". Glad you liked this project. Thanks for watching.
thank you I will try that site.
What size glass ball are you using and do you have a favorite size?
Hi Beverly. These glass balls were about 2-1/2". This is a great size for hanging on a tree or displaying on an ornament stand. I don't have a favorite size as I use all the way from the minis to bigger. I think it just depends on what appeals. Thanks for watching.
Did you spray this with sealer when you were finished? If so, what kind? Thanks!
Hi Meg. No, I didn't spray it as it won't get handled much. If I were to finish it I would probably use a water-based spray sealer.
This is so beautiful!! TFS

This is perfect craft for me thank you I wish to get dotting tools but 200 $ is too much for me disabled
$200 for dotting tools?
Gorgeous! 💕💕💕
Eleni, thanks for stopping by. Glad you liked this. Thanks so much for watching!
Do you spray clear coat when done? Thanks
Hi Sandra. I don't spray as they are decorative. I've found adding a spray or brush on varnish can damage the original finish of the ornament. You could try and see if the spray affects the finish.
Very beautiful 😘😄😅
Thank you so much! Glad you enjoyed. Thanks for watching.
Do you also use varnish on the ornaments?
Hi Vanessa. I don't usually varnish as they are ornamental and not handled much. I notice that some of the finishes on these balls can discolor with varnish.
Could you tell me what the name of the tools is and where to get them. Thanks.

Thank you so much Aislinn!
Hi, do you use a finishing spray at all?
It depends on the finish on the ornament. Usually not as they are not handled much.
Beautiful!
