Interesting what Al said about religion, if nothing else it’s incredibly important historically & culturally. I’m an atheist who loves the idea of going to church, and staying focused on spiritual principles (I never actually go).
I saw them last March at Mohegan Sun, Scruffy was holding up the bar before the show. When I saw him, he was BSing with one of the guys from Frank Turner's band. The only problem was it wasn't until they went on stage I realized it was actually him. I would have gone over and said hey and bought him a beer, but I didn't want to be that guy that goes up to every burly dude in a kilt and asks if they play in the Dropkick Murphys hahaha
Do these guys ever hang out with fans after their shows? I saw them a couple years ago in Eugene Oregon when they were touring with Civet and I met all of those girls (super nice and totally gorgeous), but the Dropkick guys were nowhere to be found. I'm seeing them again at the same place in November and I'd love to meet them.
@eerawb No doubt. It wasn't meant as disrespect or anything it was meant more as information for people who didn't know. I just replied to your so people would know why I decided to say anything.
@finalmattasy what he meant is thats a can of worms better left unopened in a discussion sense, they know where they stand.. but either way, people are allowed to think what they want.
Würds ja lieber hören, wenn Sammy interviewed werden würde ^^ Nichts gegen dich/euch Al Barr/Dropkick Murphys, eure Lieder beschallen meine vier Wände ja schließlich auch regelmäßig ;-) Beste Grüße
@eerawb He was a working class skinhead though, he wasn't a nazi skinhead so he's still very much got the same views on life he just doesn't dress the part.
As far as the religion thing, I don't think it makes sense for you to believe something about the universe and to also believe that it's, "just you're own thing." If that's the case, then you don't really believe it. God either exists, or he doesn't. He either has opinions, or he doesn't. Dualistic truth is irrational.
Such a nice and humble guy. Love that band with all my heart!
Al Barr is a very nice guy...i met him once :)
I agree with this guy. They are a very different kind of band, And i think they're great! They have a great lot of music to explore and listen to.
