- ** Episode 13 **
At last, the real progress begins!
In this episode I begin the rebuild of the coachroof.
Starting the job off by removing all the nasty old cab side timbers. Once these are removed I get the rebate for the new cab side timber to fit onto the deck beams routed out.
Now i have the joint cut it's time to make a start mocking up the new cab side templates.

After a fair amount of observation, I'm starting to come to the conclusion that restoring a boat might involve vast amounts of extremely hard work.
And money ;)
Anything worth it takes suffering
And 80% of that hard work seems to be producing sawdust that you throw away.
@Phil Rudd what is your motive to be a prick on this site? not getting much at home? troll... look in the mirror buddy
@Phil Rudd Whatever your motives are, Phil, you're being a nasty bully, talking unfounded nonsense, and hijacking a thread. Please take your bile and spread it elsewhere, you twisted little thing.
👍😎👍 Old school boat building at its finest.
Keep at it fin i know camera work and editing is rough but Leo started just like you. We'll support you best we can. Wish there was a way to like this 100 times
I can't emphasize enough of the admiration I have for You seemingly unfreezable Islanders seriously working in those temperatures.
Nicely done Fin. Taking shape, steady as she goes. Hello from Canada
Everything has so many steps! It takes so long, but it looks quite peaceful and rewarding. Thanks for sharing Finn.
Your new Editor is really getting caught up fast! ❤️
I was just reminded about how much work around the boatyard seems to have nothing to do with directly working on the boat itself! Good job on those leaks Finn! The project is looking great!! DD
Fine job . Will be watching from Rome Georgia , USA
Nice work, great attention to detail. Thanks FInn for sharing.

Lovely to see you using skills you learned from Leo’s fairing plans. Keep up the good work! 👍
Fin, you're doing a great job and doing it right.
Getting there young man. Good idea to increase the hight on Saloon roof. I would enlarge the Porthole windows too.
@michaelrck, I would agree with this, except that to enlarge the portholes would mean not reusing the existing hardware, which would be expensive. Love the videos BTW, I haven't missed a one since I subscribed for the fist one!!! :-)
@@bgbthabun627 That makes sense. Just as well its Finn and not me with the jigsaw. lol

22:22 was a WoW moment. It was hard to judge the amount of change until then. Nice progress.
Got in a discussion on one of Bruce's Mistress videos about fantastic boat building channels. Came to check you out and see the work - you were mentioned in some good company and now that I've seen what you're up to I look forward to both going back and waiting for new progress videos. G'ver!
Love the videos. A lot of work but will definitely be worth it.
Good work Finn, keep at it. The reward will be amazing. (Vancouver Island, Canada)
The angry wasp traîner! Thanks Finn
Great work Finn, enjoying your build mate, and really appreciate you going outside so we can get some perspective of your surroundings. Beautiful to see some snow while living here on the Sunshine Coast of Australia..... not sure I would be saying that if I was there but beautiful scenery all the same. Don’t forget to stand back and pat yourself on the back occasionally, this is something that only a few ever experience, that feeling and satisfaction of taking on a real challenge and every action that brings about change or improvement is a milestone in itself. 🇦🇺🇦🇺👍🏻👍🏻
Great work best vid yet
I had wondered why the Cabin roof was so low. Then you fixed it.
Well done mate.
