- EPISODE 38
Sometimes life can get a bit much. Trying to manage a full time job along side a full time project to build a dream and also have a life on top of it all can take its toll.
When unexpected situations arise then the best thing we can do is give ourselves the time we need to be able to deal with what ever comes our way.
The last few months have been really tough and if i'm honest i was beginning to really struggle so i had to make that choice.
Unfortunately this meant the boatwork had to slow right down and i needed to give myself some space.
I have been working hard to get back on top and can finally see the light at the end of the tunnel.
But the work did not stop completely! In this episode i touch on a few of the exciting things that have been going on and will be coming up in the next few months and episodes.

Hey Finn, don't worry about us, we'll be here for you whatever - the most important thing is to look after yourself and do what you need to do to achieve that. Great to see you are OK, just do things at our own speed mate.
What he said.
While you talk the dog is building the boat…👍
Er, did you say building..?
Good to see you Finn
Well done Finn, for recognising you needed a break! Remember the reason people watch your videos is because you are doing something that many do not have the skills or the vision needed, also I take inspiration from you for my own watery project. Thank you! Here for the long haul👍
You take your time mate...the last thing we want is to see you burn out. What a score on the rigging etc...well done!
no need to apologze. You have a most interesting project and we are here and we will be here. Thank you for sharing your project with us.
Finn you talked perfect sense in looking after yourself glad to see that you are getting better and not losing interest in the boat.
Holy Cow !!! That rig looks fantastic ! She is going to look so fine when she's in the water and sailing.
Like the other commenters, I'm delighted to see you back posting videos. I'm very aware of the stresses that build up trying to get a boat rebuilt as well as carrying on a full-time job and with family commitments having done the same thing on a much smaller boat back in 2015, so, personally, I have no issue whatsoever with your "holiday" from posting.
I look forward to seeing how you get on with the rebuild in the coming months.
Welcome back! Rome wasn’t built in a day. Once you are done, sailing will be great for your mental state. I say again what a huge part you played in that he rebuilding of Tally Ho
To be fair my conservatory wasn't built in a day, and I don't know how that compares to Rome...
Your dog wanted to show us the fuel tank dip stick. Clever dog.
Thanks for the update, we all appreciate the work you are putting in to bring us along. Wow the rig is a huge bonus !
Good to see you back.

Welcome back Life does get heavy at times stopping and regrouping is a great way to recoup awesome job and progress
Right on, Finn. Been following you since Tally Ho. I’m here for the journey, no matter how long that takes 🤙
Welcome back. 🇨🇦
Always worth waiting for.
YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Good for you! We are still here and tune you in! Rich
Life is.
No worries.
Content is good.🙂
Happy Solstice.
Like everyone said...look after yourself, and the work will be done whenever you are ready to do it. The boat isn't going anywhere, and neither are we.
All the best.
Finn, a journey of a thousand miles :) I’m glad you’re back matey
Finn, glad you are doing well. Keep the pace that works for you. Cheers!
Go Finn!
Many thanks for the update
It's OK Finn, we enjoy what you can post and know that some times life just take over. Do your best and we'll stay tune in.
No worries Finn good to see you and the your boat back , looking after yourself comes first and nice catch with the rig
I'm so glad that you're back mate 👍
it just takes as long as it takes.... Stay healthy, rested, fit, don't overwork yourself. It's incredibly difficult to manage such a big project alongside a job, friends, family and personal worries. And congratulations on the opportunity to buy the complete rig. It must feel good to have one less thing to worry about....
Kool!
Great to see you back!
Glad to see you back Finn. The past month or so, I was wondering what became of you. Amazing how life stuff can wade thing up. You say your OK, just make sure you are! We'll all still be hanging around. Cheers from Sequim.
Good to see you again Finn...
Good to see you back Finn, positivity shining through this update. cheers
Good to see you back Finn ...I think with your Project ....The best is yet to come !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Great to have you back, Finn. Take care and look after yourself first, we can wait.
Good to see you .
Welcome back Finn.
we underestimate the work that goes into producing RUclips content. Andy from Sailing Melody has just gone through a similar experience. Working long hours trying to beat impossible deadlines and putting too much strain on himself, both physically and mentally. Take care.
It’s a tough gig, just gotta to keep plugging away!
Chuffed to bits to see you back Finn, no worries, do what you need to do, when you need to do it. Cheers The Senior confessor
Look after yourself, after all your health and well being are the most important thing that should be at your utmost priority. Don't feel obligated to anything other than your health. Cheers!!!
Great to see you back about it, Finn!
Groovey dude!
Good things take time.
There's no rush!!
Nice score on the rigging!!
Epic!!!!
A series of wonderful surprises. Glad things are moving.
Finn we missed you! One worries when there is a delay in videos as so many things can happen. Your talent will get you through this build and I'm excited for the journey. Take all the time you need to keep sane, we will be here!
Hey, life gets in the way, good to see you
Just great to see you again.
I was just hoping that one of your episodes would hit soon, and I'm glad to see this pop up!
A lot of us knew in the backs of our minds that you were getting sorted in your life and you had this big boat project still looming.
We all knew you have the character and perseverance to continue forward.
This video was a good mix of your life, projects, and responsibilities. You’re up to this, my young friend!
You are too kind! Thank you very much 🙏
No matter when you post, it's always a pleasant surprise...
Dear Finn.
👍👌👏 Congratulations 🎉 for realising, that health is the most important/precious thing in life.
Best regards, luck and health in particular.
Great work Finn. I can empathise very well, it’s so hard to bring work, personal life and boatbuilding together. I‘m doing this since 3 years 😅. Courage! 👍🏾
Good on ya mate. Nice to see you back. Stay chill and go at your own comfort pace.
Life is hard dude. Don't burn out and start hating the project. There's no time pressure except that which you assign yourself.
Fantastic Finn' what a huge leap fwd to have your rig spars, rigging and sails! Must have cost a pretty penny = your labor to pay for it.
Enjoy some summer yummy Uk beers 😉👍
Thanks 👍
Nice to see you are still alive and kicking and making progress, life sends you the occasional hurdle to jump, or detour to take, hopefully your life will settle a little enough to make progress with your boat and we are always happy to see how the project is coming along.
Great to see you, Finn. You have made some good choices, good for you.
Best, Mike from Shooting Star
Good to see you back. Set your pace and steady as she goes. Awesome score on the rig!
Nice to see you again, i thought you was gone forever and was so glad to see you post this video. Welcome back and im looking forward for your videos ahead. Regards Martin
Thanks, don’t worry I’m here for the long haul, I may disappear from time to time but I’ll never give up!
Good to see you back, Finn lad.
Thank you, a great synopsis as alway.
No worries Finn. Life must come first, even ahead of a boat build (I know that is hard to believe) so hang in there and we will too!
Good to see you again. Hang in there brother!
Hanging in there is sometimes fraught with obstacles eh!! all the best to your endeavors!!
Finn, good to see you hope all is well.
Hang in there Finn, we will be with you the whole way. The only important time line is your own.
Oh a Payne cutter. Subscribed
That break was not wasted, with rig and sails sorted plus you refreshed!
Haven’t given up on you either. Love your progress, big or small.
Not going anywhere! Welcome back! Nice to see a new video again.
That’s ok. I’m KnotFINNished with you Yet.
Welcome back! No health = no boat. Look after yourself!
👍
Take care mate you did the right thing having a break
Finn ,life is life ,great to see ya back
Hey Finn! Don't worry about a thing! Life sure does get in the way doesn't it? I have so many projects I'm working on over here in Atlanta Ga..then stupid work gets in the way. Good to see you and hear from you. Your boat is gonna be great!
Good to hear from you! Life is to short to make a good part of it miserable. Take care of yourself, and the rest will fall in line.
Good to see you back Finn. You did not want to be there in the winter anyway.
Hope everything is now sorted to your satisfaction - life happens!
No excuse needed Glad to see you back Finn!
Worth the wait!
Life often gets in the way! Good to see you back. 🤓
Don't worry Finn just glad to see you back well done getting the rigging spars and sails that must be a weight of your mind look forward to next time keeping smiling matey 😊😊
bravo magnifique. quel courage
Nice to see you back fella... looking forward to seeing your vessel continuing to take shape even if it's at a slower pace than you might like. My first ever attempt at public speaking was a presentation to my P5 class (48 years ago) about... drum roll.... ferro cement yachts!! My dad who was an engineer was delighted (he was a sailor too) but my class mates and teachers in my landlocked home town were slightly bemused...! Concrete that floats? Surely not...
good to see you again. here's a comment for the algorithm
Keep going Finn. Look after yourself.
We'll always be here eagerly awaiting your next video no matter how long it takes
Sometimes you need to back up to get a running start. Rock on.
Have at it. Fun to see you gain. Good luck.👍
