My biggest problem with my Alienware area 51 tetrahedron triad desktop is the fact that I could not upgrade the motherboard. Now that they’re using ATX standards I can upgrade the motherboard if I choose to get the new area 51. Since I plan on getting a 285K with 5090, I’ll probably will end up buying the new area 51. Now that EVGA does not exist to make video cards anymore. There is no more kingpin 5090 possible so I will go with Alienware’s liquid cooling options for the CPU and GPU.
I really hope the laptops use standard USB-C charge connectors. My M18 is great except for the lousy AC adapter plug that never stays in, the GIANT power brick it's connected to, and the hot air that blows out the right side of the laptop directly on my mouse hand. If they solve those problems, I'll upgrade to another Alienware laptop, otherwise I'm looking elsewhere when I upgrade. I also really hope the A51 desktop has an AMD variant. I'm 100% sold on the 9950x3d for my next CPU especially after the latest Intel flubs. I've been very happy with my last 2 Alienware gaming AMD desktops but I will never buy another Intel CPU, so I hope Alienware supports users who feel like I do.
you can swap the motherboard for an atx mobo now since its designed for atx parts and use the amd cpu on it , the case alone is worth it , plenty of space too and a good 1500 watt psu , its actually a good pc now they finally did it and listened to the criticisms
So if the MOBO is changeable could you potentially upgrade to an AM5 platform and throw in an Ryzen CPU?? Also is the exterior of that case metal/aluminum or is it plastic? I can't tell by looking at it
@laoch5658 kinda sorta as ATX12VO stuff is still pretty hard to find, especially motherboards. But it's still a massive step-up over the extreme proprietary junk of previous Alienware boxes.
@@laoch5658 His last two Failienware desktop reviews got really bad scores. They were so bad that Dell watched his reviews and they admitted they listened to community feedback. I think Steve will be curious to see the changes made as he probably feels his reviews were responsible for those changes. That's why I think he will revisit the Area 51.
He always saw the potential though but they refused to listen, all they needed was proprietary parts and more internal space to breathe. That design looks so beyond basic what is even the point to call it alienware anymore?
Don't buy, leave more items for the Europe! In EU you don't have a much choices and its much overpriced than in US and Canada, and I happy for any modern gaming device, cause I am still with the laptop of 2016! Be appreciated in a life that you don't live under the war in Ukraine or in the middle east!
I don't understand why Dell would call this an Area 51, what even makes them think it this way? Is it because of the new liquid cooler head or the new added fans on top of the psu? Edit: I just noticed Dell makes the cpu's radiator, which is located on top, pulling the fresh air into the case. Well, I have to say it's indeed a rarely seen smart and thoughtful move from Dell in all these years.
@@stevens1041The always say the same thing i own a lot of Alienware laptops and desktops and i just unlocked the Bios on R15 so i can change xmp because the limit the products so you have to purchase all parts from dell
@@stevens1041Ok if you believe so i own Alienware laptops and desktops the tell you it can be upgraded like the R15 & R16 and when you try to upgrade the memory oh wait you have to get it from dell yehh don’t trust dell
The case looks nice

Same here. But it's too late I have already gone Corsair 4000D.
I wish they would've stayed with the unique triad chasis.
i love the case.
Omg it’s so amazing I want it for my office ❤

nice, but i was expecting PCs cooled in dielectric fluids, from Alienware.
Maybe they'll build them in 2026?
Is CPU changeable? I really want to slot in a 9800X3D.
no the sockets are not the same.

@@ryue5626 so buying an old a51r5 case is worth the price, not the latest a51

They will probably have a Ryzen system as well.
no Miniled or OLED options?
Honestly kinda disappointing seeing the 2025 line up of laptops
those laptops looked five years behind
Agreed….MSI & ROG (Asus) is where the future of Desktop & Laptop PC’s for sure…..💻
hope we'll be able to buy the case separately somehow
You won't.... unless it's on the 2nd hand market...
I can't wait to see Steve Burke tearing it apart. Though it definitely looks like a massive departure from the eWaste tier models of the past.
he wont as it doesnt have proprietary parts anymore

Just for the alien logo you have to pay $2000 more.😢😢😢
If that's really the case, then the decision not to buy it is an easy one. No reason to complain about it.
Chill bro.@WVLQWVLQ
Complain??? It's a fact, don't be funny

Probably from all the roasting from Gamers Nexus.
This PC’s are cool but the can not be upgraded dell is awful try upgrading memory 😂 nothing is supported not worth it just purchase from other company
Literally said in the video this one is using standard parts now.
