hi alienware i just bought a m16 laptop last week and up upgrading everything like ram heatsinks ssds and wifi cards the thing is a beast and i love it
Amazing, thanks, Alienware! I’ve got an R11 with all the Alienware peripherals, and I’m loving them. That said, I’m looking forward to upgrading this year. The Area-51 is a bit bigger than the R16, but I’m hoping it stays available in the store with upgraded specs!
Great job Troller and the Alienware team! This is what we've been asking for. I'd still like a more traditional Alienware design but this is a great step forward.
We don’t have any plans to announce Concept UFO as a formal product right now. Our focus is on the best gaming experience, evident by our announcement at CES where we unveiled the return of the iconic Area-51, in both desktop and laptop form factor.
Awesome updates! Love the designs, uniqueness! I love their designs, high quality! I just wanted to share about laptops…I love that fan having glass cover! I love when I carry around at my work it looks awesome from both sides. Thank you Alienware! Keep pushing the gaming and creator edge to the limits!
Hi Alienware Team. It was nice to hear about the decisions that went into designing and engineering your newest flagship PC. Looking forward to hearing more details.
This is actually such a huge win, I always liked Alienware as brand and still like the aesthetics. Even if I don't use AW pcs anymore, they were my gateway into custom building and my current build is Alienware themed. But after the 2014 Area 51 and the Aurora R12, the motherboards became proprietary. But now anyone who buys this new desktop has a very impressive, and compatible chassis they can use to build a new PC with and retain AlienFX. Alienware should be like this all of the time, it gives control to the consumer and gives the brand more respect. I think Alienware being the amazing but very pricey brand should be the main image overall, they're aren't too many other brands that fit that roll. (and it's reminiscent of how the brand was in the 2000s) anyways, I can't wait to see the reviews, and the potential of this case design for AW and the rest of the industry.
This looks like it might not be that bad, and I sincerely, sincerely hope it isn't because the alienware desktop options the last 8 years have been just completely awful. I would love to be able to recommend this as a box for people and using things like standard ATX parts gives me some hope. The cooling strategy also seems like actually makes sense this time. Now, you guys didn't include worthless software on the base image...right? Here's to improvement (even if they are dead obvious :P)
We're incredible proud of this new Area-51 for sure! And the only software you'll get is Alienware Command Center & Support Assist. You'll even be able to adjust all the AlienFX and fans in AWCC when using a different motherboard, thanks to the new daughterboard and a conversion kit.
Will we be getting an area 51 laptop any time soon to complement this maybe? Also, the Aurora line isn't being discontinued, is it? Also, does this come in a black colour, or just the white one we saw in this video?
Lots of questions here to answer! Check out all the announcements we made yesterday at aw.gg/area-51 for all the nitty gritty details. But TL;DR - You called it! The Area-51 will have laptops as well to complement the desktop, in both 16 & 18 inch form factors. - The Aurora isnt going anywhere 😎 - Our Area-51 Desktop is only available in the version seen in the video.
@@AlienwareChannel That's awesome, can't wait to see what you cooked up with the laptops then, hope it's as sharp, sleek, and sexy looking as this was, shame no black case, but that is probably the only desktop I'm willing to get in white anyways cuz of how clean and sexy that looks, will you guys be continuing the m/x series of laptops as well, or any other new laptop line?
At last you used normal parts this has been needed for decades i might actually consider one knowing i can actually reuse the parts in it if i wanted to.
Nope, the Area-51 Desktop is something all it's own that we've brought back into the Alienware family to represent the best of the best that we can offer. The next gen is just getting started!
@@AlienwareChannel I really hope the R17 arrives with the possibility of choosing an AMD CPU, there is no way I buy Intel with the current state of those chips.
Just a few questions, but first, love the Area 51 laptop and desktop, I do wish that the laptop had the hexagonal vent design, above the keyboard, and on the thermal shelf like last year, but I like this refreshed design a lot, so that doesn't really matter, if it looks as sexy as I think. Now to my questions, what is happening to your laptops from last year, the X-series, and M-series, will they all be continued and refreshed into the current generation of chips? Also, on the news page on Alienware Arena, it says the Area 51 laptop goes up to an intel ultra 9 275HX, but I thought it would have gone up to an intel ultra 9 285HX, is that an error on the website 🙏, or is that true? Please say error I wan't max performance in every department when I can afford the upgrade (hopefully in the next few months). And my final question, will we be getting an upgraded version of the QD-OLED Ultra Wide monitor any time soon, maybe 4K 240hz+ , or 2K 480hz+ ?
Tackling these one at a time! - What will happen to the X-Series and M-Series? They will be discontinued and replaced as we are simplifying our products lines to be shared across desktops and laptops. Area-51 for maximum performances, rich features, and robust builds. Whereas the Aurora machines will offer top tier gaming versatility in streamlined forms. - Intel Chips on the Alienware 16 & 18 Area-51 Laptops? The laptops will be powered by up to an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5090 Laptop GPU and up to an Intel® Core™ Ultra 9 275HX CPU. No errors or typos on the website. - Will there be an upgraded ultrawide QD-OLED? We'll be adding another monitor option to our QD-OLED family. Use 12 layer PCB 2 dimm motherboard because they have higher ram and CPU over clocking capability, use high speed ram, Good CPU cooler and GPU. Most of the pre built gaming PC manufacturers are only using cheap 6 layers PCB 4 dimm motherboards which is not good for memory overlooking and CPU over clocking.
Hear you loud and clear! The motherboard of the Area-51 has 2 DIMM slots for better RAM performance (up to 2x 32GB at 6400 MT/s), up to a 360mm Liquid Cooler, and up to 600W of graphics powers with plenty of support for a 5090 and beyond.

Alienware really needs to get into high performance NUCs. Asus and MSI are always sold out and I think it's a space where Alienware would be right at home designwise.
While both are high-performance gaming desktops, Area-51 completes Alienware’s desktop portfolio with a more scalable and powerful feature set. As our full-size flagship platform, Area-51 is designed from the ground up to address the demands of enthusiast audiences who have a deep appreciation for technology and a can-do attitude about manually customizing their build to their needs. Complimentary to this, Aurora R16 is our mid-sized desktop for gamers keen on a compact gaming experience.

Sooo close to buying the R16 the last week or so. Glad I didn’t pull the trigger. Still not buying this one till I find out if they’re still using cheap mother boards etc. My two year old $3,000 Alienware laptop just stopped working due to bad motherboard. Still in mind condition never moved to except for cleaning dust. Should not have died in two years time especially being I game 80% or more on my Xbox Series X. Need a review by Gamers Nexus.
I wait till summer then alienware is on No.1 for my RTX5090 Destop PC. BTW Alienware: Could you please plan to sell a alumium case with foam inside for that desktop. As a mobile DJ and LAN party guest, Iwould love a perfect case for my Alienware Desktop. Even with a huge sign of it I would take it ;-)
The only thing I praise is the modularity of the assembly, but I don't understand why the motherboard is manufactured with only one PCIe x16 slot and two PCIe x4 slots. The design of the PC case is disastrous, I have long said, and so have true fans of the Alienware brand, that the designers lack imagination and technical thinking at the same time. I can imagine a timeless design of the future and at the same time it would meet the requirements of gamers around the world.
Paying for a gaming computer is supposed to be something different from a regular computer in all aspects. If I’m going to pay another 4k for an alien 👽 computer I want something snazzy. This looks like a regular computer.

- Better GPU design
- And more RGB for interior showcase
But keep innovating! Love it
Thanks for the feedback. We'll shoot it over to the engineering team ASAP 🫡
ive stepped foot on spaceforce grounds before spaceforce was even recognized globally and domestically. when itv was just a rumor
素晴らしいデザインですね。❤
Launch Configuration Price: ~$4,499 (w/ NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5080 GPU) wow, not holding back on that price point
What happened the front of USB drivers?
Front IO is on the top instead 😁
Finally.
ATX???? In a DELL???
Cool update. But to be clear, you did not set the standard for cooling and expandability.
Cool you finally made a normal case that definitely isn’t unique. Congratulations.🤷🏼

Paying for a gaming computer is supposed to be something different from a regular computer in all aspects. If I’m going to pay another 4k for an alien 👽 computer I want something snazzy. This looks like a regular computer.

I'll take the more compact version with RTX 5080

We're always keeping an eye on alternative silicon options, but we cant comment on future plans at this time.
