thanks Steve great video i used Growseed and they look a fantastic company i got a load of seeds for a very low price and a very quick delivery will be useing them in the future
Great Steve. I wasn't thinking of micro-greens but would you believe it, I found GrowSeeds last night, I was looking for some garlic and onions. And I've just ordered a few things from them. Shortly after, I watched this vid! So I must be on the right track. But I think I'll be going back to them after your simple well explained tutorial. Thanks as always Steve.👌
Thanks, Steve, for another fantastic video which really inspires me to keep growing through the winter. I've just had a lifelong dream come true with a greenhouse this summer, and have been growing lettuce in troughs. They're doing so much better than on my allotment where they don't seem to thrive and always get eaten by slugs! 🙄 I've been intending to grow micro greens for ages - the seed packets are still sitting here - so this is a useful nudge. I love your videos, always such clear and useful information, thank you! Have a great weekend.
You may find germination is quicker if you water the compost before sewing then lightly spray the seeds. If you mix your compost 50/50 with vermiculite there's less chance of damping off. Good luck 🍀
Thanks Glenn, the trays did get a mist over from a hose before I left yesterday. I have a great big bag of vermiculite in my shed at home that I keep telling myself I should take to the plot...since about April, that worked then! I will be doing a few more batches of seeds through the winter so plenty of time to adjust the method, this first one is what has previously worked, so a base line for me...Steve...😃
Im not sure how it is over in UK but check amazon and see if you can buy (microgreen seed) by the pound. I can buy it by the pound here and get thousands and thousands of seed for small price. also look and see if you can buy black oil sunflower seed like the sunflower bird seed by the huge bag. those make excellent microgreens that taste really good
Many thanks Ghengis, just trying small patches first to see which we like overall before getting involved in large amounts, but many thanks for the heads up...Steve...😃
@@GreenSideUp oh for sure brother! It how I buy most of me seed now, all the veggies can been done for microgreens, also dont fall for the non gmo seed scam, only seeds sold to public are either hybrid (which is NOT gmo) or regular seeds real GMO seeds are closely regulated and require a license to buy and your land plot has to be permitted to grow GMO plants because they are patented.
Morning Steve do those first sets of trays have holes in the bottom or do you not water after initial watering. I may try this with lettuce and Asian greens. Thank you for sharing ✌️🇨🇦🐝 safe
I use Growseeds. I am impressed with thier costs but also thier customer service. I would like to try growing microgreens this year. Are the seeds you used a particular variety?
Hi Linda, I review the seeds used here ruclips.net/video/UCGxGdpcxxg/видео.html and all on on the Growseed website here www.growseed.co.uk/vegetables/microgreens/ Steve...😃
Not sure, but at a guess they may be grobag trays? Most gardening outlets will have them and I think they're probably a lot cheaper than other types of large trays specifically designed for underwatering.
As MG says they are growbag trays, here is a link to the exact ones I bought AND they have just dropped £3 in price since I bought my last set, now £21 for 5 trays amzn.to/3A64xGd Steve...😃
You can buy grobag/gravel trays from various sites on line. A pack of 5 will cost £25 - £30 including delivery. If you don't need 5 - perhaps share with a neighbour or another gardener.
Hello Wout. I think he was filming at the allotment and said he would take the baby lettuce leaf tray home so it can grow there (in the greenhouse?) And so he will always have some fresh greens even if it’s snowing and he can’t get to the allotment. Like other people, he has a garden at home and an allotment (a rented plot specifically for growing veg and so on). Hope that helps.
Nice shout out for a family business and local to me. I’ve been looking for a supplier of micro green seeds and now I’ve found them!
Nice update Steve👍
Thank You for sharing. Have a fantastic day
Cracking idea 💡
I bet you eat so well! I'm so envious (in a nice way). I love watching your videos.
I’ve got some growing at home as well lovely as you say on a cheese sandwich lovely jubbly cheers 🍻

Thanks for the Oct seed sowing ideas and microgreens 👍🏻
I tend to grow quite a bit of cress on the window sills at home Steve, which we both enjoy especially when making egg and cress sandwiches...
As always informative and on going keeping us growing through the seasons.... Cheers

@@diann9159 can also stop germination. Not good for commercial growing.
Steve, you really are so so wonderful. I enjoy every video, keep up the brilliant work 👏
Yes then Steve 👍👍👍

Those seed packets were very small for what they are intended to do.
👍👍
OK Steve I'll ask my usual dumb, I'm guessing microgreens aren't cut and come again?

Steve am I too late to sow micro greens now? In cold polytunnel in Essex.
How are the Microgreens doing Steve?
This is really helpful thanks - we’re just getting into microgreens ourselves. Can I please ask where you got your nice big trays from? Thanks.

@@GreenSideUp thank you - I’ve ordered some!
@@m.g.5025 I only have one of those, but I got it from Wilko, it was cheaper than all the others.
Great video, I certainly will grow some myself. Is this at your home or did I understand incorrectly?
