I know I am just a stranger who will never meet you, but just know that I am proud of you. I have been following your training journey and the fact that you stuck with your training plan is extremely impressive. I very much enjoyed watching you reach your goal. I understand that you aren't planning on running Goofy again but if you do, please continue to film your progress, I will be here to watch. Amazing job!

I’ve done all the Disneyland runs (I am from California) and running the WDW was my goal! This is my 3rd marathon. But honestly I was so surprised how many ppl were doing the dopey challenge! I would have never guessed it. Actually to be honest I was so focused on getting into the marathon.. I didn’t know what any of the challenges consisted of. Getting your perspective is appreciated. I felt great the day after the marathon and my training sucked! I kinda wish the marathon came first then work your way down to the half, 10k, 5k. Anyways Congrats!!! Watching this video got me a step closer to considering running dopey one day. I hope to one day be on dope to be dopey crazy like many of you guys!

Thank you everything you said means a lot. I encourage you to give it a try, but the training is critical. That to me is the hardest part. I agree I wish it went in reverse order because I can push through a 10 with leg pain much easier than 26 miles. Congrats on your 3rd marathon!! That is impressive. I want to do another marathon some day just to ride the rides along the way. I have to get a much faster pace though.

I really am so excited to see what’s next for you. We had a similar journey in that I am also 40 years old, a mom, and lost 12-ish pounds for this marathon. I’m training for next years WDW marathon…. Even though I said I wouldn’t. I just can’t seem to help myself.
Also, I love that you highlighted your marathon strategy in this video. I think that is also some thing that gets very overlooked.

It’s a really wide road and the fastest among us will separate from the rest of the pack pretty quickly so they won’t be in the way

Just an FYI for future reference, you can get swept from the 5K. You do have to be really, really slow, but I have witnessed them sweep them when I volunteered for one of the 5Ks a few years ago.
Congratulations! My sister & I did the 5K & my best friend & I did the marathon. I have no drive or desire to do Goofy or Dopey and I'm not sure if I ever want to run another marathon. If I could go out there and do it without training, I might, but I can't and to train properly it just takes way too much time. I'm glad I have done a marathon once though.
