I always forget how to do a certain stitch , then I have to go looking for a video of it. Thank you for doing this I like having it all in one place. You are a great teacher.
Thank you so much! 😍💕
well you just the Bomb diddy!!!. I never knew this stitch, and since the purl is my fave I cant wait to use this to make garter stitch!
Thank you for this, I was afraid of the true knit stitch for a long time because it seemed like it would be so difficult. Your explanation makes it quite simple.
Looking for your lesson on why you don't slip that first stitch.
Thanks Kristen. I’ve been loom knitting for a few months but these videos are helping me improve my mechanics
Wonderful! ❤️🎉
Thank you.
@goodknitkisses I simply love you. Your tutorials are easy and you take your time. I was trying to learn how to do the fisherman rib with this because I forgot how to do the true knit. The other video was fast & it hit me GOODKNITKISSES
Thank you. Oh have you looked a fishermen rib hat I know it would be beautiful. Thank you so much for your time
This is the only one I haven;t used in the past. I've been wanting to try it but keep forgetting, Next project, I'm going to make swatches to show to my knitting groups. It will be a good visual aid.
Marylou Cotton that’s a great idea! Be sure to make a tag for the swatches to tell the difference later
@@GoodKnitKisses I will do that. I'm going to get a notebook and use pouches of some sort with labels
Great tutorial.
Thank you. I’m so glad to have helped
I want to try this but I'm afraid I'll purl instead then I've got a mess😂. Thank you for making these videos. They're very helpful👍
susan lentz go for it. You can do it! Allow yourself the time and grace to practice over and over on this sample. I challenge you to challenge yourself. ☺️ Actually knowing this one you can do another specialty stitch called the raspberry or trinity stitch. It uses this technique combined with purling in the same stitch.
How does the fabric that results from this stitch differ from the fabric that results from using the flat knit stitch? They seem exactly the same to me. Am I missing something?
What guage loom and yarn wright are you using?
What kind of yarn is that? It looks very unique, the way it's more twisted than worsted.
What kind of yarn are you using and how do you finish or cast off???????
Is there a stitch that looks the same on both sides for the loom? I like the flat stitch but would like the V'S to look the same on both sides for a blanket I'm making.
Only with double knitting. So right now when you see stitches on the loom you are looking at a single rake. Imagine two of these parallel. That’s called a double rake and it makes double knitting which is twice as thick. Basically if you make a knit (v) stitch the back of each stitch is ALWAYS a purl (bump). When double knitting that purl bump hides in the middle of the fabric because on the second rake, the knit stitch faces the other direction. When it’s knit the purl bump goes on the inside of the loom as well. These stitches are basically made at the same time and sandwich the middle part together so only the knit stitches show on the outside of the fabric for both sides. I hope that makes sense. Check out my double knitting playlists.
Thank you
I made a hat with the u knit..turned out nice but a little tighter than I predicted. Would this stitch be a little looser or more stretchy? I'm using small guage loom 3/8. I want to make a hat for my husband and have connected 86 pegs as is suggested in the instructions. I really like this stitch but would be nice to know ahead of time about this stitch or maybe I can do this stitch with a combination of another stitch to make it more stretchy.
Thanks and sorry for rambling 🙏😬😁
So I did a swatch and looks exactly like the u knit I had done..😩
I'm confused..🤔
The look is the same as the U knit and flat knit BUT they should be different sizes. Flat, U, true in that size order. The Ewrap is also a knit but twisted and looks more like a y than a v. On the U-Knit it’s important not to pull the extra slack out when moving to the next stitch. So it takes practice to be consistent. With the reverse Purl or True Knit it’s easier to stay consistent on tension but it just takes a little longer and we’ll worth it if you find you are a more naturally tight knitter. Test your swatches by measuring. After they are off the loom be sure to pull downward on the samples to relax the stitches (they were stretched width-wise on the loom). Now lay them flat and measure across the middle a few inches from the bottom of your knitting if possible. Count how many stitches are across and write it down and which stitch that was. Then measure the next sample. It’s is best to compare using the same yarn and loom for both samples to get a true picture of the difference. Divide your stitches across 4” by 1 inch. That will give you your stitches per inch. That number will tell you how many to cast on to get your desired width or circumference for either stitch. I hope that helps. All my best to you.

Thank you for this detailed information...🙏🙋♀️
It's very helpful. 😁
When you cast on, does the cast on count as the first row.
No
So does the True Knit and U knit give you essentially the same stitch? Or is it noticeably different?
They look the same.
What prevents your swatches from curling on the sides?
Sarah Benson I usually steam or wet block my swatches. However I haven’t blocked these. In this yarn they were bad enough to do. However I wanted to show them in their natural state. I have an article on how to prevent knits from curling if you need it but I’m not sure if you are asking for that or just about these swatches in particular. I do have a video on wet blocking if you need it though
@@GoodKnitKissesI haven't tried knitting a flat panel with bulky yarn and my flat labels with worsted weight always curl unless I used combination of knit and purl on the sides. I have a steamer and just received blocking boards for Christmas.
Your instructions are terrific!
