Hello Wambui I decided to start on a hat using this chain stitch except I didn't have a croche hook so I had to use my imagination on how to do this till I get my self a hook....and yes found a solution using tweezers ,yes please feel free to laugh...it actually worked and I started my hat. I just passed the tweezers through the loop and pulled the yarn through...so there😉🇬🇷 Take care my Dear....
Oh My!!! That is wonderful to hear! What a great idea! I will share this with others. I will definitely share on our next LIVE stream. You are a reminder that not everyone may have a crochet hook. I am going to ‘pin’ your comment to the top of the comments so that others might see it too. Thank you for sharing this idea. I appreciate you! 🌻🌻🧶
Thank you so much! I am new to loom knitting and so happy that I have found you on RUclips! You teach with such patience and at a much slower speed than others giving us time for it to “click”! Since finding you have have made more than a dozen hats to donate and give to my grandchildren. After having two strokes and a spinal cord injury I didn’t think I would ever be able to craft again. But you make it so easy for me! Thank you so very much. God truly gave you the gift of teaching!
Hi Kathy! Thank you for such a lovely comment. I am happy to hear that you survived those very debilitating medical issues. God is Good! I think it is wonderful that you have loom knitted so many hats for those who need them. I wish you continued success and many joyful hours of loom knitting! 🌻🌻🌻🧶🌻☀️
Hi Bx ter! Thank you so very much for watching. I am happy that you find the tutorials helpful. Thank you for taking the time to leave such a lovely comment. Welcome to the loom knitting world!🌻🧶🧶

I have sever arthritis in my hand. I love the way you teach ☺️. I'm very new to looming and your method of teaching has given me hope that I can do it. Thank you ❤️
Hi Arla! Thank you so much for watching the videos. I am happy that you find the tutorials helpful. I am sorry to hear about your severe arthritis. But I am pulling for you that you will be able to loom knit some awesome products. You may already be familiar with the beginning loom knitting tutorials that I have on the channel. I like to mention them because I think for people who are brand new to loom knitting it gives them a very good foundation and confidence after making a basic hat to go on to other things. This was very helpful. I have always stayed away from this cast on because I couldn’t see what people were doing in the videos. Now that I saw how it’s done I want to try it. Thank you so much.
Hi Tammy! Thank you for watching. This cast on can be a little challenging - and can take some practice to get used to. I hope you have a great weekend! 🌻🌻🧶🌻☀️
Hi Sherry! Thank you so very much for watching. Thank you for taking the time to leave such a lovely comment. It means a lot to me. Many blessings to you!🧶🧶🌻
Thank you Wambui, I like to make hats but don't always want the fold over and this should I hope work. Some times I wish I could crochet, I only knit and loom.
Hi Sandra! thank you sooo very much for watching. Yes, the chain stitch cast on will make for a prettier and neater edge. This is a link to a video you might find helpful if you don’t want to do the fold over - if you have not seen it already: How to Make NO Roll Brimless Loom Knit Hats - Loom Knitting With Wambui Made It ruclips.net/video/jJYatIgenw4/видео.html I hope you enjoy your day!🌻🌻🌻🧶
Hi Claudia! Thank you for sending me the photo of your scarf. From what I could tell when I first looked at the photo, is that it was cast on and off with two different types of stitches. However, If it was on the long loom, it could just be that the yarn for the cast off row could have been loosen a little so that the one end wouldn’t appear to be tighter. I appreciate you. I glad you find this video helpful. Over the next few videos or so, we will sort it all out. Enjoy your evening!🌻🌻🌻
I love how you explain everything and show how to do it! Thank you so much! I'm long looming panels and want to join them together to make a wider project. Is there a video for that? You are such a good teacher!
Hi Margaret! Thank you for the very lovely comment. Here is the link to a video that should address how to join panels: ruclips.net/video/ZijN8LWwdlo/видео.html I hope this will help. Enjoy your evening! 🌻🌻☀️
What projects besides coasters/mug rugs, would utilize the chain stitch cast on. I've learned to do it watching this video but unsure when I'd actually use it. Thanks in advance for your feedback.
Hi Chantal! You can use the chain stitch cast on for almost any project that does not specify otherwise. It is your choice. For instance, instead of the e-wrap cast on, you could decide to do the chain stitch cast on instead.🌻🌻🧶
Thank you so much for your videos love the way you teach you are wonderful and it is so easy to understand and follow..but do have a question for you since it appears we were using the were same loom you used in this video..but when you turned yours over to show how knitting looks at bottom it looked so much different than might..mine was super loose all over instead of looking filled in like yours..I was pulling yarn tight as I worked but even looms themselves had holes big enough you could almost put a dime in..I was using yarn marked 4 not sure why mine was like it was and not like yours..we're you using what would be considered bulky yarn like a 6 or so and would that correct issue if I did..thanks for your help with this..also a friend tried it on hers and she had same issue I did..thank you so much for lessons, videos, patience and help..Bless you
Hi Melody! First of all, I appreciate you watching and I thank you for the lovely comment. Now, to address the issue that you are having - I am wondering if you would be able to take a picture of how your project looks so that I can see exactly what you are referring to. If you could send me a photo(s) as an attachment in an email to Wambui @ wambuimadeit . com , that would be great. That way I will see and know that we are talking from the ‘same page’. I am sorry that you are having this problem. I will try my best to help you solve it. 🌻

I have been trying the chain cast,-on method, and I think I need more information. How much tension is needed here? I tried using tight tension, snug tension, loose tension, and was dissatisfied with all of it when it came time to knit the next row. What is the best way to go about this?
Hi Jean! I am sorry to hear about your frustration over the chain stitch cast on. It took me a while to get it too. In my opinion, the more tension - the better. When starting, really hold on to that tail yarn. Holding the tail yarn will help to create the tension you need to get started. Pulling the yarn through for the first peg is going to be the most difficult. Once you get the first and second chains done, it should be a lot easier as you work the remaining pegs. Keep the loops as tight as you can while making room to pull the hook through. Sometimes you might drop the the hook and the yarn. If you do, just pick up where you left off. I hope this makes sense and that it helps.🌻🧶🧶🧶
I am glad all is well. I know a lot about old brains. I have a 70 year old one and some times it just does whatever it wants to do🤗. Have a great day!!🌻🧶🌻
