Listen to the man! He's 110% correct! We are artists. We are human. We all mistakes. Practice more, improve yourself. But you will still make mistakes. (:
I know my first couple times performing, I made mistakes, or somebody else made mistakes. But we just laughed it off or shook it off. Majority of the audience will not notice like mentioned in the video.
Playing live is the test!! I always say, act like you did it on purpose like give an "ahh yea" face!! Cool video bro!! \m/
Ha ha I can just picture you doing the” ahh yeah” face ha ha
There is nothing more frustrating than sitting at home and playing a riff or solo perfectly after a lot of practice and come a live performance, it goes to rats. The same goes for lyrics, you know them well and come to the last two lines of verse 3 and it goes right out of your head, despite you knowing them perfectly at home. I'm never finished kicking myself.
Man! I really needed this. I've just come out of practicing a song I'm into and every time I tried to record myself I fucked it up at some part, I was feeling kinda frustrated, to be honest. Thanks for the piece of advice.

What my cousin does when he fluffs a note live is slap the back of his hand like it's his hands fault and he's like bad hand haha then carries on flawlessly cause he's pretty badass at guitar.
Let's qoute Mr Hetfield here as an example of how to react when you're doing a mistake live:
"Yeaaaah!!", and make it seem like you intended to play it that way...confidence is the key in dealing with mistakes, so don't be afraid to make them y'all! If you can laugh about it and don't take it seriously, nobody else will take it seriously either😉
Ive never been in a band nor played live so i wouldn't know the pain of messing up live. But i do know the pain of minor recording and jamming on my own. No one is perfect. Rock on matt!

Much love my friend!

(mistakes increase your expirience , and expirience decrease your mistakes.)
Welcome to the family brother thank you!
Great Video Matt! I get the same thing, people picking at my mistakes, I try not to let it bother me. I'm not the Artist & basically it's my project so Knob-off! I just hope like you say they consider how much fun were having & also how challenging this whole RUclips thing is in general.
Great video brother!! That was spot on. To be totally honest, the most frustrating thing for me atm, is when I'm doing a live video recording of a cover and then that f**k up happens! Lol there's been times I've gone through almost an entire song, and then right at the end whoops!!! Haha And sometimes I'll just say screw it, and just leave it. But that's about the only time those mistakes get to me.
im a very medium level guitarist, got 3 times live (im 18, don't have a band, gonna start my own proyect, dont anoy me haha) once i fucked up a chord progression, stopped and then got back, then i was soloing...that was a very easy one...lastly...i was in a Band Battle...i was playing Psycho by Muse...and made a little interlude with a bit of Flanger...then i started playing the main riff in a very cool Zakk Wylde style (with PINCH HARMONICS, FEEL THE POWAAAAHHH)...and the stupid singer STOPPED ME BECAUSE HE THOUGHT I WAS GOING TO PLAY THE WHOLE TIME.WITH FLANGER...i pushed him back and started all over again...that costed me the total failure...i had no bassist and wrote a line to play instead of bass lines...BRO, my good friend Walter (the drummer) made it awesome, we both NAILED IT, BUT THE STUPID SINGEEEER, SHIIIIT 😭😭😭😭, AWFULL, i felt very bad because my mom was there, she was excited, also my mate's mom AND GRANDMA were there, my best college friends were there with big hopes because they knew i had no bassist, i played well, my legs were barely keeping me standing up...and i realise... playing live SUCK...but really learned to be fine if i don't do the mistake, was not my fault, but creating a whole band is very tuff and not too much people likes Hard Rock and Metal in Peru...people here is musically ignorant, justs stupid reaggeton and tratratratra, FUCK THAAAT 😂😂😂😂😂
I actually quite enjoyed the massive fuck up on Metallicas 2014 Rock am Ring show in and justice for all. It was hillarious. Makes them human. What I do when I f up and fail over and over again is play something ridiculously hard like the John Petrucci spider exercise. That exercise doesnt have to work well but when you go back to the other thing you originally wanted to learn you'll suddenly be way better at it. Dont ask me why that works. My guitar teacher taught me that method 😂
Even John makes mistakes in the riff. This fact saved me from despair.
If you do it twice it's not a mistake. ......Live
As a beginner guitarist, I’ve learned to not stop playing while playing guitar hero for years
Great advice, thank you Matt!
Good video thanks.
U look like Gustavs adolphus
Ha ha who’s that?
Matt The Riff Master 1 Google him 2 listen to "the lion from the north" by sabaton . Then you'll know ;) . Recommend the song heavily
Good video bro did you check out primal fear song that I left in a link it was one of there new songs.
Yeah mate they’re kinda cool!
Depending on the severity, confidence is key when playing live. The mistake isn't necessarily in the actual wrong note, but the mistake is in how you handle it afterwards. Great vid Matt \m/
lmao I cringe and make a face and make sure everyone knows i fucked up
How much are these ernie ball cups? They look cool
Not sure mate it was a gift I’m sure you can find it online dude
I’m trying to learn the master of puppets solo and I keep messing up so I’ll take your advice, thanks man
