also alot of the pros have a chaotic aspect already within them, eddie van halen would make a ton of what you call "mistakes" but would just bend crazier or whale on his whammy bar so you think hes just going crazy, aslong as your ear is good you can really account for and readjust in almost all situations.
One thing I was hoping for was (for those who perform on a regular basis) to practice standing up...muscle memory needs to be developed for that as well🤘🏽😉

my guitar practice is super mindless and even though I normally get something, even a few hours later I have issues playing it again

The moment I hear a metronome clicking away I break into a cold sweat and freeze up
Keep practicing with a metronome. It'll become your greatest friend.
