The energy in this is infectious and inspiring. Will never be able to grasp how your mind conceptualizes telling stories the way it does, I will just be able to remain in awe. Thanks for the shoutout, truly flattered :)
It's so weird how you say that about my videos and I am thinking exactly the same thing about your videos and how in awe I am every time you put something out there. Thanks again for the inspiration :)
I am slowly working my way through some of your "older" videos. This one really hit a spot. The music and the presentation of the stills conveys so much lively energy it was great fun to watch. Thanks for all the effort and time you're putting into these videos - much appreciated. I also have not been to Berlin since 1986 - and you can imagine (or maybe cannot) how much different it is now - the capture of the scenes of your group being out shooting gives a nice contrast to what my memories of Berlin (W) are like. (Written at about 8min into the video - now going scrolling back up for more)
Glad you liked it, thanks for your feedback. :) I love those relaxed photography vlogs as well, but sometimes a change in pace feels refreshing to edit as well.
This makes me feel so stupid for spending all that time in my bathroom developing film 😂 loved the vibe and content of this video, your work keeps getting better!
Same here, 10 mins for developing and 5 mins for scanning at their lab feels so unfair compared to the countless hours I spend developing and scanning at home haha. And thank you, Ivan! :)
Seeing inside Film Labs has quickly become my new obsession. Like many have mentioned the pace of the edit here is great. I've recently discovered your channel and I find your approach to video production really refreshing. Thanks for putting the effort in to show us inside SAFELIGHT. Also shoutout to the FUJI Blimp, I need one of those.
Same here, I find it so fascinating to learn about how labs operate! Especially in today’s age, where the hardware and software seems a bit outdated at first glance, but still produces excellent results. Also thanks for your feedback, I appreciate it a lot :)
Hi, Just found your channel today via Samuel Streetlife. Your videos are brilliant and your photography is wonderful. Just watched about 5 of your videos. Looking forward to the next one! All the best, Richard
Oh Karin how shocking! A trip to the backrooms of Berlin's notorious Safelight district...oh, wait a minute. Well it was still lust inspiring. Great to see a modern lab keeping it going.
Thanks for the videos! As an aspiring film photographer, these are very inspiring. You really are a triple threat: very interesting photography, excellent presentation style, and your video production is really top notch. Thanks!
Whoa! That first part of the video -- all those jump cuts and graphics -- me, thinking I might have to rewatch at a slower speed -- worried our quiet and introspective Ms. Majoka had fallen in with the wrong crowd, and was now perhaps snorting film processing chemicals in some dark and forgotten alley. Relief when I see the second half; back to her studious self, and aspiring to own her own film lab. Order is restored... :-)
Hahah, that comment was hilarious, thanks for making me laugh, David! Well, film has the power to make you feel high and hyped when simply putting it into the camera - maybe that was what happened. 😂
man your videos get better every time 😀 I love such behind-the-scenes videos from film labs. The first part is so well edited and with the little drawings it has a really good dynamic. Like a party night and the hangover the next morning. 😆
so.damn.good! Really nice mini-documentary, so nice to see how the lab I use actually does things, great photowalk montage, and the whole edit was just another level. So bummed I wasn't in town.
I have been developing my film at their lab long before we did this collab-video, so I totally feel you, this was really exciting. I am sure there will be another possibility to shoot together one day. :)
The edit and animation in this video is just excellent! I’m also curious, do you know what that green tape they use is? I’ve been struggling for a good tape that sticks to film and plastic for reloading.
Thanks for your comment, I appreciate it! Unfortunately I don’t know anything in specific about the tape. You should hit them up and ask on Instagram or via mail, I am sure they are more than happy to help! :)
Would love to be able to get my hands on a Fuji Frontier scanner. You see a few on eBay every now and then, but, they're pretty pricey!!! That, and a filmomat processor. Though, they're even dearer than the scanner!!!
Oh, I totally feel you. A Frontier that is able to scan a whole roll in 5 minutes would be a real game changer to home developing and scanning. The whole operating system to get it to work also seems to be a real challenge though :/
Very interesting insight into a lab process.I don't know how long it takes to work on a video like this but you have really nailed the production - fantastic!
I don't live in Berlin myself but only visit regularly - but who knows, maybe there is a chance anyway. :) Hahaha sorry for getting it stuck in your head 😬
I liked your video. Berlin is worth more than one mass... The lab is similar bo the one I use in Barcelona. VM. Young enthusiast people. Automatic C-41 process for color amp manual for B& W. Very good quality . Very happy with them though I haven't taken pictures with them yet....
Glad to hear you have a great lab nearby! :) Sadly I don’t live in Berlin myself, otherwise I would drop a lot more of my film off at labs like safelight.
100 rolls a day processed? Geez, that's quite a throughput. In my big city I'm pretty much the only film photographer left. I even have to teach the people at the drugstore on how to use the lab's film processing ordering system every time I bring them a roll of color film!
Thank you, Steve! Haha, yes, Berlin is very international. Chris and Alessandro (who was not there sadly), the owners of the lab are American and Italien, just as most of the employees, which also explains why all the stuff members speak mostly English.

i like the pace change, usually film photography vlogs are nice and relaxed but this is super speedy, real nice i dig it :)
Glad you liked it, thanks for your feedback. :) I love those relaxed photography vlogs as well, but sometimes a change in pace feels refreshing to edit as well.

The first half of the video was banger. Loved the edit, the pace, the music, the creativity! Damn!!
Thank you, I appreciate it! ⚡️
Excellent video :) Seeing the processing/scanning/printing was really informative. Thanks to everyone involved in making this video!
Thanks for dropping by at the premiere and thanks for your comment. I appreciate it :)
Would love a lab update video
Nice, and very inspiring..! I have so many digital cameras - wish I could put some film in them.
Such a fast pace in this video - we can clearly see that you put in so much work and effort and it's definitely worth it. It was a blast to watch!
Thanks so much for your feedback, I appreciate it :)
Thanks again for the fun day!
Likewise, thanks a lot! :)
I loved this!! Great vibe, great presentation and just such a fun video! Thanks for this :)
Glad you liked it - and thanks for your comment :)
Karin, that video was fire!!! the editing in the part where you go on a photorun was on point! Love the behind the scenes of the film lab
Thanks so much ☺️

Hey, thanks for tuning in, glad you enjoyed the stop on this channel here so far. :)
Top video! Love the energy and music. Great editing
Thank you Neerav! :)
Oh Karin how shocking! A trip to the backrooms of Berlin's notorious Safelight district...oh, wait a minute. Well it was still lust inspiring. Great to see a modern lab keeping it going.
Hahaha, luckily, in the end it was all safe + light as the name suggests (and not dangerous + dark). Thanks for your comment, Edward. :)
Such a high octane video, I was smiling all the time while watching 😂 love how you edited it! And I want their film development setup 😂
Saaaaame, having a fuji frontier at home would make scanning soooo much easier and faster. Thanks for your comment, Bon. :)
@@KarinMajoka anytime! 😊
Love this one. The editing was great!
This was fascinating to watch! Fantastic work on this video
Thank you, I appreciate it ☺️
How are this changing boxes called (@9:16)? I really want one for my home lab. Great video as always!

Great video, great storytelling!
This was stupendously fun and informative. Thank you for sharing!!
Thanks so much Jamie, I appreciate it! Glad the Safelight crew could give a little insight :)
Thank you for the very interesting intern of a film lab. Good to see how the process of film developing, scanning and printing is functioning.
Thanks for your comment! It was really fascinating to get a behind the scene glimpse. :)
I really liked this. From the walk around video to the behind-the-scenes. Ausgeseichnet!
I appreciate it a lot, thanks for your comment ☺️
wow, my film is always scanned (and developed) by safelight berlin!
love their dedication to film :)
man your videos get better every time 😀 I love such behind-the-scenes videos from film labs. The first part is so well edited and with the little drawings it has a really good dynamic. Like a party night and the hangover the next morning. 😆
Thanks, Dan. :) All those little bits and bobs took an eternity to edit, but glad that it seemed to be worth it!
Very nice thanks! Wish I could setup such a shop too!
It really seems like a dream, right?
so.damn.good!

Great video! Nice to see the hole process
Thank you ✌🏼
Were those beer mugs big enough? hahah Awesome video Karin, was really interesting seeing Safelight's process.
Hahah, well in Germany that's almost the regular beer size :D Thank you for your comment. :)

Thank you, I appreciate it! ✌🏼
Cleared my lot of doubts about film . Thankyou keep doing the good work
Glad the video was helpful! And thanks for your comment. :)
Best lab 🙏🏻🔥
Word! ✌🏼
Thanks! :)
THIS is the dream video for all analog film photographers out here :).
Thanks for the constant support, Elmar. :)
Very interesting insight into a lab process.I don't know how long it takes to work on a video like this but you have really nailed the production - fantastic!
The text and the scribbles were all handwritten so this video took a good portion of time to be honest. Thanks for your feedback, I appreciate it :)
This was really neat! I'd love to come visit!
Thank you! The shop is really worth a visit, you should if you have the chance! :)
An editing challenge success. Loved every beat! ❤️❤️
Thanks so much, I appreciate it. :)
Something tells me that you’re a Guy Ritchie fan. This video just has that vibe. Very good work.
Honestly, I have no idea who he is and will have to google him 😂 but now you got my attention and I will find out who he is
Karin I gotta hang out with you when I visit Berlin!!!. That music will be playing in my head the rest of the week by the way :D.
I don't live in Berlin myself but only visit regularly - but who knows, maybe there is a chance anyway. :) Hahaha sorry for getting it stuck in your head 😬
Learned a lot in the second half! Danke :)
Yay, glad to hear that. Thanks for watching :)
Danke Karin!
Veeeeery cool, thanx for the Video 👏🍀📸
Thanks for your comment :)
So cool to see this video, literally live in the first parallel street!
Oh my god, I am actually so jealous of you. I would hang out there aaaaall the time

Congrats on the original editing! Keep it up! 🙂
Thanks, I appreciate it ☺️✌🏼
With the scans in standard size it costs 9€ per roll.
Woo! Fun fun!
Thanks, Alex ⚡️
Amazing Video❤️
thanks for your comment. :)
Excellent video! I know that was a ton of work to edit.
It was a lot of work, but luckily fun work. :) Thank you!

No way hahha? So sad to hear that though. It would be nice to have more reliable places like Safelight in other cities as well to give your film to.
Karin, your channel is coming along nicely!
Also, it's so weird how everyone speaks English in Berlin 😆
Thank you, Steve! Haha, yes, Berlin is very international. Chris and Alessandro (who was not there sadly), the owners of the lab are American and Italien, just as most of the employees, which also explains why all the stuff members speak mostly English.
man, wished I knew if my developer is as conscientious of proper disposal of chemicals.
Yeah, it’s such an important part of the process in my opinion!
amazing video :)
thank you :)
I send all my films there!
good video, but the music stressed me out 😅
Haha good, that’s what it was supposed to do. No comfy chilling in front of the Tv, but stress stress stress to go out and shoot! 😬
Film photography video without lofi hiphop. How is that possible?
Why is film still more superior than digital?
