Interesting mix that potato ambiance and mood, between labs and your brother! Nice wink to your brother! Do something with him will be interesting too. To see your different point of view on photography.
These potato vlogs are really fun to watch, especially this one, because it's in Berlin. Just realised the Safelight store is in Wedding, quite close to where I live. Btw congratulations to the well earned 50k milestone. :D
That takes me back to working in our Fujifilm lab. We used all the same equipment too. We still have the film scanner but no developer. Our lab is 100% digital printing, but we still scan processed negs and slides. Most of our customers use their phones with Bluetooth to send their images to our Fuji kiosks. Only the kids know how to do this. Adults have no idea so we have to do it all for them. Crazy. Film processing was so much more fun and easier than digital on the lab. I miss it. I didn’t know you could pee in the street in Berlin.!!
Back in the day I always fancied one of those olive green Werra cameras. Expensive then but cheap now. 50/2.8Tessar Unusual thing was the film wind on and cocking was by turning the rear lens ring. Unique I think. They had a good reputation. Bought a Ricoh 500G instead which was great until it got stolen. One to look out for as a Ricoh man. Cool vlog, keep them going.
What a cool place! One thing bugged me: having worked in a photolab for a long time, you shouldn't carry the films over by the leader card alone just in case they slip. Cradle them by the casings. Not used a Fuji C41 machine myself but it's weird you would need to put fresh chemistry in all the time. Distilled water isn't as essential as regularly scrubbing the crossovers and it will depend on how many rolls go through a day. If it's around 30 then that should be fine. We're doing 60-100 a day at the mo but Brighton bucks the trend for film use. Pretty much all lab equipment is 15+ years old. It's kinda mad.
Been loving the twitch livestreams. Just imho, you should get a free/cheap 2nd monitor used or from recycling or something so you can read the chat while streaming. You can put your obs and/or dashboard on it and chat.
I think people are bored with everything in their world being digital.... to have something that is real, to hold and touch is amazing..... When I was a boy my parents would send off the film from our vacation and we would wait excitedly for weeks before the prints arrived back with us. Such a good feeling opening them up and passing them between us as we discussed and remembered each photo. You dont get that with digital.
Steve D it’s something simper in a complicated world, I get it. I’ll never go back film was never any fun for me like digital is but I truly hope this revival lasts that is bringing in new people into this hobby. And Anything is better than seeing people doing photography from those cell phones.
this is the best video of a minilab in action in 2020. Everything else I've seen before is super old. Thanks!
Probably my favourite video of yours I've ever seen Samuel, the part with your brother was heartwarming.
I'm loving these potato vlogs! :D
Also, I want always to return to Berlin and watching this video made feel me good
I really liked that potato vlog!!! That insight into a film lab was so interesting and informative. Vielen Dank Sam :D
Great to see how far the store has come. Thanks for the update. Fun to see a bit of your family too.
Well done behind the scenes Samuel
Bert and Ernie at the end 🤣- Loving this format, great seeing the development at Safelight too.

Sehr geiles Video!! Voll interessant, dieser ganze D.I.Y.-Entwicklungsprozess!
I remember working on that Frontier Fuji system back when I was in a 1-hour photo store. Oh, and 20:22 best unexpected moment of the vid 😂
Keep these coming! Great and refreshing content. The disposable camera pictures came out great!
Thanks! But the photos you saw in the end came out of my Ricoh GRIII :D
Great video as always! Congratulations for the 50K!

Hi Samual, So what is the cost of a 36 colour neg film, processing and scanning, no prints?
Great great! I want to shoot in Berlin again! 👍
another great vlog again, was that fox rare to find roaming the streets??
What are you GoPro settings for blogging? do you shoot wide or superwide and etc? (NEED HELP GETTING THIS KIND OF QUALITY)
wondering the same thing though more curious on image stabilization actually.
What film was in the disposable kebab kamera?

Wo ist der Link zum Video von deinem Bruder? Sieht gut aus :-)
You should do more English subtitled German vids. It's a very refreshing switch.
Jetzt frag ich mich welcher Fotoladen bei mir in der Stadt dicht gemacht hat... 🤔
Whats the name of the developing machine?
Kaustubh Khare Fuji fp363sc, You have to be turning over a relatively large amount of film to make owning one worth while, 12+ rolls a day.
Good old price lists... Kodak Color Plus 2.80€ 😭😭
Should check them out. Thanks!
Homie Alberto!!!!!!!
I hope for there sake this film thing isn’t a fade for the millennials. But it’s great to see a business come out and respond to what people want.
