  • When I decided to start fishing in tournaments, one of the first items that was required was a livewell. I didn't want to cut into my boat seats or do anything permanent so I chose to make a removeable DIY cooler livewell. Since it has wheels I can roll it right to the weigh in if I want. This is a super easy, and fairly cheap DIY project to help get you tournament ready.

Nice build! Like the conduit for the cord

Thank you! The conduit fell off after 1 or 2 uses, it was my first time using hot glue lol, so I don’t think I did it quick enough and the glue was already starting to harden. I peeled off the old hot glue, and then used a bit more hot glue this time and did it faster and it’s been holding well for over a year now.

I got them both from Canadian Tire. I believe the bilge pump is also available on Amazon but I don’t think the battery is.

How long will that little battery run the live well

Good question, I had a few more people ask after you did so I decided to finally do the math lol. It’s a 9AH battery, and it’s a 1 amp bilge pump, so theoretically it should last 9 hours! I have fished about 10 tournaments with that set up, and the battery has lasted the full 8 hours every time, which makes sense now.

Your wire is still being pinched.
