I was 18 in 1985. My baby sis and I thought SW was the most funniest, brilliant and wittiest comedian ever. Can't believe it's been over 30 years and I still come back to this all the time. It's all still relevant and relatable and it's now 2023. Nobody even comes close to this man's comedic genius. King of dead-pan, the one-liners and smart as a whip! His delivery is perfect! And that memory is unbelievable! Thank you SW for always making me laugh!

What I like most about him, is he's so different than everyone else. He doesn't let you know when he's said the punchline, because his whole routine is so monotone, that you really have to think about what he just said. He essentially has no "delivery." To me, it's funny that he can do the whole thing without so much as even cracking a smile. He's like a comedian that sounds like he's depressed.

Aww, that was both so sweet of HER to KNOW you'd like and appreciate this thoughtful gift....and YOU for keeping and cherishing it.
I, likewise, pre-Internet had bespoke T-Shirts and pin-back buttons made for my loved ones AND myself.
I intentionally chose phrases and words which were appropriate for the individual...very obscure (yet HILARIOUS).
Phrases or words which were ~ in reality ~ litmus tests to "winnow the chaff" of humanity.
On VERY RARE OCCASSIONS, a complete stranger would espie a pin-back button (on a steampunk hat I wear all the time) and/or GLANCE at a T-Shirt....and ROAR WITH LAUGHTER....i instantly knew he and I could be/would be FRIENDS.
It was surprising to me, in retrospect, how few WOMEN reacted POSITIVELY/burst into GENUINE, uncontrollable laughter.... and how many men (comparatively) "got it"....but in my experience MEN (in general) possess far more non maliscious senses of humour and LOVE intelligent humour.
Countless people ~ to think of this now ~ ASKED me to, please, EXPLAIN the joke...and I DID (and many more of these people laughed,)...but I do NOT recall my ever becoming friends with THEM.
ONLINE GAMING ~ again ~ rare individuals will EXCITEDLY reference the literary significance of my GAMER TAG and/or WRITTEN QUIPS...again....ironically MOST PEOPLE are ASTONISHED to thereafter learn I am FEMALE. Men and women BOTH assume I am a DUDE❤
A shared sense of humour is a lovely thing.

In an earlier time, using "dirty" jokes in your act was called "going for the easy laugh", as they always guaranteed laughs from the audience. Certainly Robin Williams was quite blue in his humor, but he was also a comic genius who made his appearances complete in a way that the blue humor added to the enjoyment of it.
Steven Wright's humor is also unique, and it's uniqueness works without making it blue.
Anybody can get up and tell dirty jokes, but it doesn't guarantee you really have talent.
