Our family is growing so we are looking around for a bigger expedition rig.
Meet Luca and his Unimog 1300L. This Unimog is an ex German Military Mercedes Benz Unimog, a 1987 Model powered by a reliable 6.0 Mercedes Turbo Diesel engine, 6 cylinders in line and connected to a 8 speed transmission. It was build for world overland travel and is made for the roughest terrain in the world.

The thoughtfulness and engineering of this vehicle are amazing! Even the metal frame around the tires - I've had thick mud wrapped on my tires where these would have so useful to keep the tire clearance open. SO much thought, just WOW!!!!
No matter what your age, 30, 50 or 70 it is the adventure that makes you young.

What a fancy rig. Is like an outback Hilton on wheels.
Unimog is a different class - big and heavy and costly - no budgeting from beginning to end. Lucky Leaw is sufficient and affordable. Whilst you might not have the difficulties & challenges, its better for vlogs !

Amazing truck not sure i would like to take that down the Amalfi coast, we have a Marco polo very comfy and you can park it in most underground parking places and its a pleasure to drive.

What a beast! Have seen a couple of other tours of similar ex-military vehicles like this (Chrome did one for his VanCityVanLife channel) and there is a young German couple travelling, with dogs, in one across Europe. Inside is not as spacious as you might think, but the vehicle can handle all sorts of terrain that a rugged van would not. What is great about this one is the total build from scratch of the living quarters, so it's bespoke.

This is me, this is where I am headed.. Building my own expedition vehicle for life and retirement. Good to see you guys moving up in the world to something like this.. It will be a whole new channel when you find something to your liking and the needle returns to the start of the song.. One of the most beautiful reports presented by your channel.. The dialogue that took place at the end of the video Sarah raised very important questions and it was a useful dialogue.

Guys this episode was fantastic. Luca is a nice guy, his vehicle is a real beast. I think you should upgrade to something similar especially in term of safety if you are intending to travel with your baby in the future 👍❤️💚

I'm catching up after a time when I was not able to watch many videos. Truly missed all the fun with Luca and Sara! This is an astounding conversion! I really love this build. It's attention to detail, the numerical coding on the electrical just makes my geeky little heart sing!!! Lol. Luca must be a great name, both these Lucas just seem like such lovely genuine human beings! Up for the adventure and yet gentle and considerate!! Sara and Luca congratulations and best wishes (I know you have had your beautiful baby by now, prayers again for your continued health and joy!!).
Very interesting learning about all the features in this vehicle. It's quite impressive and beautiful. You will have all the comforts when baby comes and still travel and explore. When baby gets older, you can homeschool (truck school) :). So keep us posted on what you decide. I love your videos and you two are such a sweet couple! Take care and be safe.

What an incredible vehicle. I shudder to think how much it would cost, but if someone gave me one, it would change my life forever. Right now, at my age, I need comfort and durability too so I'm looking for a good van that is already built out or a very small RV as I'm sick of being stuck in one place all the time. Your friend sounds like an interesting man. I too would very much like to explore Africa. Thanks you for sharing this video. Luca's vehicle is perfect for nature photography and camping. I'd have just a slightly bigger shower area & kitchen with a smaller table area so that I'd have a dedicated study/studio area table containing two color-calibrated monitors for post-production work. Other than that, Lucca thought of everything. Awesome vehicle. The gun turret is especially useful for telephoto photography of fauna from a distance. 😀🚚🎞🖥🖥🎥📸📸
