You are amazing, Jennifer! I truly don't know what I'd do without you! Yes I do, I would have gotten rid of all my Cricut stuff a long time ago. Thank You for sharing yourself and your talents with all of us!
I’m sorry… don’t intend for this to be a negative comment, but…. You don’t ever want to cut on a glass cutting board. It will pretty much instantly dull your knife! Use this for a cheese board or charcuterie!! I love this idea and had been wondering how to do this!! I can’t wait to try this technique!
Thanks, Jennifer, I have used laminate on wood Love doing that. I've got to visit the dollar store, its just around the corner from me. Your the best Teacher ever!
I could cry. I did as you instructed and prepared my materials to print a favourite picture on a glass trivet from Dollar Tree. After the preliminary step of heating (200•C for 60 se, EasyPress2 + Pad), the laminate sheet to the flat side (the other side was patterned), I noticed what looked like a sea of bubbles under the surface. Didn’t I use enough pressure? By the way, I trimmed the laminate close and taped scimpely at points along the sides. I removed tape after pressing. I admit, I didn’t wait long before placing the picture, face down on the questionable surface. Taped. Then 60 sec at 200•C. Picture was still faint. Another 60 sec with some pressure and picture was clearer but uneven. Went to reapply the rubber feet and little spray of alcohol removed some picture. Naturally I went over the whole back of that trivet with alcohol and removed all of the ink and then I wiped it from my hands. Sigh. I’m going to sit down and have my mocha and stew for a while.
Thank you for this video…you are a wonderful teacher! I have a question…..can I use laminating film on bare slate so I can sublimate on it? Thank you for your assistance.
I love watching and learning more about sublimation from you. Since I am just getting started do you HAVE to use card stock on the bottom or can you use teflon sheets? Can you reuse either or are they always a 1 and done use? Seems like a lot of trees are being wasted if using new cardstock and butcher paper for every project.
Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge and handy work. As usual your stuff is beautiful. Your sublimation video this afternoon was great, thanks again 🙂
The key difference between thermal laminating sheets and self-adhering lamination sheets is that thermal laminating sheets require heat from a laminator to seal, while self-adhering sheets only need pressure to bond and can be applied without a machine, as they have a pressure-sensitive adhesive on one side that sticks when pressed onto a surface. jennifermaker.com/sublimating-on-glass/
You show the galvanized metal blanks from the Dollar Tree. I've watched both Sublimation on Dollar Tree items but do not see your recommendations for temp and time. Could you please share? Thank you and have a blessed week!
I tried the laminating to the canvas as would not stick at 350 for 30 secs with an easy press (don’t have a heat press machine). I increased temp to 370 for 40 secs and still did not stick to the canvas. I sublimated directly to the canvas and noticed the colors were a little dull, but then I just sprayed it with high gloss spray and it worked. Brought out the colors.
Hi Jennifer! So sublimation will not take to canvas bag without the plastic Laminating Pouches? I was just about to try a canvas bag then I saw your video. I would have been super upset had I tried it first and ruined my super cute bag!
When using the laminating sheet, how do you keep the plastic from peeling up in the corners? And would you say they are strictly for decor? Can the plastic withstand handwashing?
AS always , great video. I can't get my sublimation to transfer. I put on the laminating sheet and then I press my sub design 205c for 60 seconds. Only a little ink has transferred. Any suggestions?
Hi iam new at this crcuit stuff i love making crafts but my only issuse is what kind of paper do i use for my heat press machine red and white one thank yu
Have you tried sublimating on glass cutting boards using white permanent vinyl? WhenI did it the images looked really great at first but after a month or they seem a little blurry.
Good morning I am a 65 year old grandmother and want to purchase a eco tank Epson. I am a beginners. I am looking at Epson EcoTank 2803 series 2850, 3850, or 4850 Is this a good idea? Thank you
Since the cutting board is clear, it appears as though the rubber feet are on the wrong side. You will sublimate onto the back of the cutting board in order to keep it safe for food.
I have tried to get my prints clear and every time although my prints are vibrant on the laminated sheet, it looks like tiger stripes in the print because of the rippling of the laminated sheet! I’m so frustrated what am I doing wrong?
@jennifermaker I Love you & All Your Videos and All That You have Taught Me!!! So THANK YOU!!! However, your website has SO MANY ADS that it makes it hard to navigate, scroll your page or follow instructions!! Quite Frustrating.........

Not without some sort of sublimation spray, powder, or sublimating onto white HTV. Cotton is a natural product and the ink doesn't bind to the fibers. 😊🌻

I noticed that you only used a few pieces of heat tape on the stuff you sublimate here , when i do that on a mug if its not taped real good every outside inch then it tends to have fading , how are you able to do this and not tape all sides of the cutting board image that you put on it? thank you
The tape is only to keep it in place when it is pressed. The Autopress works fantastic and applies the right amount of pressure. You may need to apply more tape with another press to hold it in place better.
mugs are round and require a lot of tape to keep the paper pressed against the mug. these are all flat objects so the paper lays against them without needing tape to hold it down. the tape here is just to keep it from moving when you place the protective paper on or off
I must have missed the final results because I only saw results for the glass cutting board. But I did not see the results for the blanket or canvas. That's not usually like you.

Oh no! We tried to replicate your exact issue but are not able to repeating the steps we followed. Were you able to find the solution?
By the way, I’m using Scotch brand thermal laminate pouches (I ripped a couple apart, felt good 😆
Is there a chart with the different temps and times you used?
Nice video. I would like to see what the photo on glass looked like when held up. Any white areas you had on your print would be see-thru, correct?
We have another tutorial at Design #499 in our library 😊🌻 Yes, any light or white is going to be clear.
This was great thank yiu!!

You can use your easy press 2.

You can try 385 for 10 seconds.

Yay! How exciting!🥰
If you use Rapid Tac to apply the laminate would that eliminate the wrinkles?
We haven't used that method yet, but it might!
We’re doing the glass cutting boards. Can I use them in the dishwasher or do they have to be hand washed?
I prefer to hand wash.
When using the laminating sheet, how do you keep the plastic from peeling up in the corners? And would you say they are strictly for decor? Can the plastic withstand handwashing?
It should not peel and the image goes on the backside so you can cut on the top and hand wash.
Is there a laminate that is not shiny? Like a matte laminate? Thank you for all your videos!! So very helpful!!

There could be many factors here. You can show photos and ask in the very helpful group. facebook.com/groups/sublimationmadeeasy
Could this work well on libby glasses? I have a ton.
Sublimation needs to have a poly coating to sublimate on.

Have you tried sublimating on glass cutting boards using white permanent vinyl? WhenI did it the images looked really great at first but after a month or they seem a little blurry.
I have not tried that. Hand wash with mild soap.
They were never used or washed. They just get blurry sitting for a while

Have you had trouble with the cutting board print fading after time?
Not as of yet.
Can I use a regular inkjet printer to sublimate on glass?
In order to sublimate these, you would need the design printed from a sublimation printer. 💗
I tried sublimating the canvas but only the edges sublimated. Do you remove the canvas from the frame? TY!
Yes, go to 11:15 in the video to see.
Thank you for this video. I'm wondering if the Easy Press 2 can used for the cutting board instead of the big Heat Press.
Yes you can!
Can you just use butcher paper on the bottom layer instead of the white cardstock?
Yes, you can double layer it if it needs it.
Can I just ask about the rubber feet on cutting board aren't they supposed to be on the other side?
Since the cutting board is clear, it appears as though the rubber feet are on the wrong side. You will sublimate onto the back of the cutting board in order to keep it safe for food.
Love it thank you
