Momo is Tibetian origin.. came down to India through Nepal.. and it became popular in India in recent decade 😅 definitely India made different versions that never existed before
Fun fact , momos started as veg food
Fun fact: momo is famous in Northeast India since ages. The other parts of India discoverd it very late and basically ruined it by frying, putting it in gravy and what not...🤮
@@axomfitnessbuddy6741 Fried momos and gravy momos taste really good especially the one they sold in Delhi. Don't forget many momos vendors are from Northeast or Darjeeling and it is modified by them.
@@alokbaluni8760 Modified for the over spiced and over greased pallets...
You are right. Momos are basically Tibetan. But dumplings are there in several parts of Asia with variations.
Indo Chinese started with Chinese immigrants in Calcutta. It’s definitely not authentic Chinese food as it was adapted to Indian food palette.
Dumplings are from China and momos are from Tibet and Nepal and have slightly different ingredients in it.
Hakka chinese people...who escaped communism...but I doubt the people in the video have an inkling about it...
Throughout the comment section I found that your comment is on facts and not assumptions.. it's very good and yes you are right, Chinese people who came to Kolkata are the first people who started Indochinese cuisine. And momos is a Tibetan/Nepali (also famous in Sikkim, India) dish and not Chinese. 👍
Came here to say this... why are they giving it points for authenticity? It's a different cuisine!
Momos is not an Indian version of dumplings 😅 It's an actual Nepali/Tibetan food. The Indian version would probably be Tandoori/Afghani momos that you see 😂
Afghani isn’t even Indian !
You are unaware about Indian culture too
@@yuunaamera
Come to Delhi, you'll know what I mean!
@@pranerlichidrink8308 remember Afghani is Afghanis food culture which is also entertained in india as how momos are; which is also a Tibetan/Nepali food .
@@yuunaamera Afghani momos are not really 'Afghani' per se. It's an Indian version of momos with cream made in the tandoor. The addition of cream just named it 'Afghani'
@@pranerlichidrink8308 was it done by Indians or Afghanis ?
There is A China Town in Kolkata, where the Chinese people settled in India. The Terrati Bazaar . So they started the culture of Chinese cuisine in India, but they didn't get All the authentic ingredients, so they started modifying with Indian ingredients and spices, hence indo Chinese came to existence...
It is believed that Momos came to India in the 1960s when a large number of Tibetans entered the country. They settled in several different parts of the country including Ladakh, Darjeeling, Dharamshala, Sikkim and Delhi - all the major Momo hotspots that we know and love.
Like fuck listen carefully Darjeeling was Nepal that time dhoti
A correction: Momo is not an indo-Chinese dish. It's a Tibetan.
Btw love your videos😍
yes momo is original tibetan but came from nepal not india
Momos is something you get in korea China Japan india Nepal you know so just chill
@@yathika3552 yes we know that but what he said that it is indian dish na it's not indian dish ya so take it easy aitte
I thought it was originated from Nepal
Momo is Nepalese :)) It originated from Tibetan Mog Mog...but mog mog tastes completely different from what we know as momo.
people said it, still i will say again...
momo is tibetan dish, and its incomplete without red chili spicy chutney. 😂
and that noodle preparation originated from hakka chinese. brought to india by hakka immigrants.
its not chinese.. it is not going to taste like authentic chinese food.. it is Indo-chinese.. it is going to taste 80% of indian spices
True …no hate btw
Exactly. There's the word indo for a reason
FYI: Momo's is not a indo-chinese food. It is more like Tibetan/Nepali food.
I knew the moment you called Momo Indo Chinese, you will receive a lot of comments.. And I am not disappointed 😂😂😂
It is indochinese it isn’t supposed to taste like Chinese . How would it taste authentic to a Chinese person. It is that simple.
yeah exactly
Exactly where did they find these idiots omg
ONE Correction, word Momo’s is from Tibet.Tibetan people say potsticker(Momo).Everyone makes potstickers but own country say different words. But loved your video.😃
Indo Chinese isn’t supposed to be authentic to China. It’s a fusion cuisine that came into existence when Chinese people immigrated to Kolkata in India.
To chinese let me tell you about this indo Chinese cuisine when hakka Chinese came here in Kolkata they made these aur dishes to suit the palate of Indian !!!
Momo is tibetan origin dumplings but spread in popularity to Nepal and India where there is a big Tibetan refugee population. The momo you see sold by vendors outside isn't authentic Tibetan momo. It's a smaller thinner Indianized / Nepalized version of momo. For authentic tibetan momo, you should eat at a Tibetan person's house or a Tibetan restaurant( but a lot of the workers in Tibetan restaurants are Nepali) 😁. Tibetan momo is meatier, juicier, and the dough is definitely NOT as thin as the cheap momo you find on the streets of Indian cities or Kathmandu. As a Tibetan, i love seeing how Nepali and Indians have made their version of our momo. Momo is actually a food that tibetans make when we have guests over or for special occasions. It's not something we eat daily. At home, its only made for special occasions.
Ahh thats the reason... Mo:mo are not called Mo:mos or Mo:moz it all ...
Momo is Tibetan dish, A lot of Tibetan lives in India, so it came with them
You're right. Momo was spread to India and Nepal through Tibetan refugee population. But majority of the vendors selling momo on the streets of India these days are Nepali or North East Indians. Their version isn't authentic. It's thinner, uses more indian/nepali ingredients and very different from Tibetan momo eaten at tibetan homes.
No , it's not !!
Mo:Mo Nepali- tibetan or tibetan-Nepali dish . In india it got influenced from Nepal not Tibet 😒 ...
Now a days your videos are not so interesting and so less number of views, don't know why but I'm a huge follower of your videos after you guys moved to LA, views dropped
I used to enjoy their videos when they were in NZ, but since moving to the US they have steadily declined, and since moving to Los Angeles I really don't enjoy them.
Their is still lots of controversy that momo is Nepali or Tibetan dish whatever we likes to eat it only 😂😂😂
Hm Indian kuch bhi sauce bana kar usse chinese bol dete hai haha
Boy oh boy, I think that was the Takeshi's castle music.
Yesssss exactly!!!!!
Manchurian was discovered in Kolkata, India by the Chinese in Kolkata and best part Chinese in China doesn't know about this dish exist...
Kishanell the best Chinese food you get in India is from Kolkata or Calcutta. We have Chinatown here, which is Tangra and all the famous restaurants are here. The first Chinese who came to India landed in the suburbs of present day Kolkata around more than 200 years ago. There was huge bustling Chinese community in Kolkata. Google about it and you will get all information. Chinese food is always steamed, boiled or stir fried and bland. Cut to present time it has evolved according to Indian taste and liking. I am from Tangra Kolkata and have lots of Chinese friends. They are hakka. It’s a place from one of the province of China. There are lots of Cantonese people as well. The indo-Chinese food is basically made by Indian chefs but if you try food cooked by Indian Chinese, it will be different.
One of the worst Chinese food completely unhygienic. Overhyped and overpriced
R u sure Delhi sbse pehle aaya or kolkata milta h . . China Town sb jgha . .Delhi is first but I'll prefer kishan point kolkata ho chahe Delhi h toh India. .he is promoting India 🇮🇳

Do the chinese with same peoples dude😉😉😉we can understand how it's not even sometimes fully cooked.
Bro you added the Japanese music of Takeshi's caste....while showing Chinese food!!
@JVP 888 no one my context of saying was...it was so nostalgic
Where Is the 1 million rap song that you made with savi kahlon in newzealand.... Btw much love from Bareilly, India ❤️❤️
Probably they realised that song is as cringey as they are right now 🙄
Momo is not chinese... Its Tibetan/Nepali food..
Fried, Afghani, tandoori and malai momos are Indian version.
NO THEY ARE NOT 🤦♀️ u think Nepal only have 1 type of Mo:mo ... we have Pan fried Mo:Mo (sadhako Mo:Mo) , fried Mo:Mo (kothey Mo:Mo) , soup base Mo:Mo called ( jhol Mo:Mo ) , Chilly Mo:Mo , Open Mo:Mo , shogo shabril Mo:Mo , tandoori Mo:Mo , sweet Mo:Mo , Paneer Mo:Mo , Meat Mo:Mo (chicken and buff ) , fish Mo:Mo , sukuti Mo:Mo, Cheese Mo:Mo , Spanish Mo:Mo wheat base Mo:Mo, buckwheat Mo:Mo , veg Momo , Masala Momo , and chocolate momo ( well chocolate one is a fusion with creative idea to come up with new type of Momo ) etc etc ... Fried and Masala Mo:Mo are not Afghani and indian ... at all .
Which Chinese place is that and where in US?
Love from India 🇮🇳🇮🇳
Stay safe 😊

Momoz is from Delhi, India.
If you are talking about momo then it's Tibetian inspired Nepali dish not Indo-Chinese dish.
U are joking right ...U better be joking.

First of all its called Indo Chinese coz dishes have somewhere base concept from China but tadka of India. So comparing it to Chinese nd trying to see if it's authentic or not doesn't actually makes sense. It's Indo Chinese for a reason nd let's keep it that way.
Word momo is Tibetan word for Dumplings
It came to India through Bhutan as Tibetan Cuisine brought by Tibetan refugees.
Well you can say momo is also Indian because many north-eastern communities n tribes also have them in their culture. I feel momos in Nepal n momos made by Indian North-easterner Nepalis are little different!
Oh oh oh!! Now I know you had corona..okay! That's fine I'm glad you're doing okay now :) that's fine you did absolutely right to just take rest 💗
Takeshi's castle background music 🤣
Indo-chinese food was originated in kolkata ,was made by the Chinese immigrants mixing Cantonese cuisine
how is it gonna taste authentic..when it's an indo chinese dish...wtf
Yes, the worst critics.
The chemistry is quiet similar to the current 2023 foreign affair between India America China
Momo is a Nepali food 🇳🇵❤️
We indians know that
It's good to know that you are well finally and hope they enjoyed it
When this indo- Chinese dishes come to South Indian...it becomes more spicy and tasty 😂
Sorry.. u gave a wrong information to the Chinese girls. Momo is not an Indian food. It’s a Tibetan food. You should go n try beef momo in Tibetan restaurants. It’s very juicy , tasty n healthier. They don’t use pork fat n msg. Very respect n loyal Tibetan people who think about other people’s health. Good luck!
Tibetian restraints in my area don't serve beef momos but yak and Buffon meat or sheep and I think that is traditional
Momo it’s our Tibetan traditional food And also Nepali
Province is like states in India/USA you have states so in Canada and China they are called provinces for eg
We are backkk ...😉
4.15 hold on.... Y did you guys put takeshi's castle bg music here 😂😂😂
Which restaurant is it? Please tell us the name
Kushan doesn’t real indian Chinese food. Very wrong items ordered. Lacks common sense. I have traveled China extensively. There are many authentic Chinese dishes in india.
Indo Chinese food is the invention of chinese who settled in Calcutta like hundreds of years ago.
Bruh momos came to India from Nepal, the authentic version is Tibetan. Why this guy keep saying Chinese
Their viewership has decreased tremendously!!!!
Momo is not a Chinese dish its belongs to Nepal, Tibet and Northeast India
Lovely Indo Chinese.
Cheers,
Pradeep Rajkumar.
Pollachi ,Tamilnadu- South India
Momos are not Chinese. Momos are of Tibetean origin. Steamed Momos are quite common in upper Himalayan region (Ladakh, Himachal, Uttrakhand, Nepal, Sikkim, Bhutan, Arunachal) and other North East Indian states for centuries.
Nothing is scam here... Actually there s a Chinese community who lives in Kolkata. They made this fusion in mid 90s to meet indian pallet. U can see there are many documentaries on RUclips
Momo is not Chinese bro. Do your research. This is Tibetan. Tibetans brought it with them.
Manchurian balls may be i believe are the substitute if meatballs..
Everything will be okay guys 😘we all are with you ❤
First and Foremost, I think it's too early and irony to go out and do a food Vlog right after Covid. It would have been little nice, if you have talked at least 30 sec about your Covid experience, especially during the situation going on right now. A proper introduction of your two lovely Chinese friends and the restaurant you were eating would have been a very professional and proper as you have seen all RUclipsrs and Vlogger always do. It is not the first time Kishan blindly misinform about stuff. Remember little knowledge is dangerous. Please do a little research before you explain about some thing that you are not hundred percent sure. It is so easy to spread rumors and controversy these days. It is about MOMO:. It is a traditional Tibetan and Nepalese food. A northern Nepal has a close relation in food and cultures with Tibet. Momo is the most popular food in Nepal, it is a middle name every Nepali carries. It was introduced in Kathmandu hundreds of years ago by indigenous people living there -who does business between Nepal and Tibet Via silk route. Recently some Tibetans and Nepalese migrated to India introduced in India, thus became quite popular in India too. Food and language can be very personal to people living in different cultures and places, therefore you have to be very careful what you say and give them credit and respect. Sometimes it leads to offend people unknowingly. Again this is a constructive criticism, please take it positively. You guys are doing great, all the best.
Are you writing lecture like fucking helll
Dude where did u eat chicken lolipops in India with wings??? We have wings separately
omg..i missed you and your videos so much thanks for uploading 💜🥰
dumpling is not even chinese name,Momo is Tibetan food

Momos is Tibetian/Nepali Cuisine.
Damn how much cake is on that face!

I can relate i never liked fried rice or anything rice related in indo Chinese ... always loved noodles over everything
Nice indian🇮🇳👳🇮🇳👳🇮🇳👳 food🍴🍕🍔🍴🍕🍔🍴🍕🍔
i love seeing butthurt people in the comments. They didn't even bother looking at other people's comments and went on with saying the same thing over and over again.
Some are saying Momos are Tibetan/Nepali or w/e. Sure the name comes from there but at the end of the day, it's just dumplings. Naan isn't indian, tandoori chicken isn't indian, these are middle eastern cuisine. Biryani isn't indian, it came with the Mughals. Chicken Tikka Masala isn't indian but is associated with Indian cuisine, it was made in Britain (and is their national dish too lmao, i was amazed when I heard of this).
There's lots of things that we see/hear about as something but they aren't what they actually are
Others are crying over them comparing indo-chinese food to Chinese food. Like what mate, that's the point of the video. Chinese people will compare it to the things that they have eaten and experienced. This is how it goes...
Btw none of this is what you'd call authentic. This is fusion food which is catered to New Zealanders. And that's every single restaurant abroad. So take a chill pill, and just enjoy
You guys should come to India guys. Your channel views would boost up automatically.
Not only Mo:mo but both Chowmin and Mo:mo are from Nepal 🇳🇵 that got influenced over india from Nepal ... it Nepali-Tibetan or Tibetan-Nepali-Chinese Food rather than indo-Chinese ....
