      Yeah, so what if you were able to wear armor with weremoose, but it actually just destroys it after you use it? Benefit, that doesn't make you a completely busted Beefalo that you can put armor on.

    Minor error. You don't need to get all 3 form extender buffs in order to unlock the curse affinity buff. You need 4 of any of the were buffs to unlock it.

    One thing with the hat Woodie can craft is that it does actually make a reliable peace of armor for followers, it’s very cheap and renewable so my friends spider army has way more effective HP with the hat

    what if the bird would allow you to fast travel like wortox instead of being a random teleport? with higher distances consuming more energy until it hits the limit

      I think that would end up overlapping too much, I know wortox will get his own skills eventually, but if woody can teleport at will for 3 monster meat, he actually beats wortox at his own game, why play wortox? Especially when woody can now fight and gather better too?
      Not saying woodie can't use more love, but I think it's wise to respect character niches a bit, even if woodie is a jack of all trades.

    OMG new strat. Moose + Maxwell. Having Were-Moose making all shadow creatures passive means Maxwell can unleash 6 duelist and an unlimited amount of Cage and Snare spells on day one.

    I have said for years that the were-forms should be able to wear amulets. It would give poeple a use to make them.

    I think one of the better ways to avoid stagnation would be to make the skillpoints tied to your world, perhaps have you start out with some, and of course make them unlock faster. In my opinion it would make them a lot less jarring, more fun and more dynamic as your power kind of scales with the world and gives you more to chew on with any given character.

      I assumed this was going to be the suggestion at the end honestly. Having permanent progression across worlds seems very against the spirit of DST, and leads to a "rich get richer" sort of situation too where it helps later game players more than newbies. It's good for Wilson IMO, but every other character largely already stands on their own and would benefit with a slow burn for these skill tree abilities. Plus it adds new ways to utilize a character as you exhaust the content in the world.

      ​@@_connorsseurI'd prefer to think of it just as a player preference thing. If they made some of the skills more powerful, with only a finite amount of insight, rather than just being a power boost, it's also a way for the same character to fill multiple roles. (As it stands there's only one really good tree, but in the hypothetical, you'd be able to specialize where you'd like to, whether it's gathering, combat, movement etc.)
      It's definitely not the only direction it can go, but I appreciate the idea.

    I feel like if klei applied most of the stuff you want woodie would beacome overpowered, as he is already a fighter, resource gatherer, and explorer, so i think that woodie should just be a jack of all traits rather that the best woodcutter or the best fighter, he's already just a better wilson, let's leave it at that

    I don’t know how good of an idea this is but with the skill tree update I think it would be cool if you were able to switch between the different were forms on the fly, like how woodie did in his trailer, so you could use his goose form to kite then switch to moose to do damage ya know

    now hear me out, with every character having a skill tree any misshaps Klei does with a caracter a good and old mod can fix. i'm loving this ideia.

    Wolfgang doesnt flatline as much as Woodie because while using his main abilities by being mighty you can equip the items you want to equip. The thing you suggested where Woodie could equip anything while in were-form would definitely make him less boring with his abilities.

    theres a thing that personally really weirds us out about this update and the concept of skill trees being universal as a whole.
    woodie is a character that was just kinda bad, he didn't excel at much and his were-forms sorta become a liability past a point, if not kinda starting that way due to not even being too great at what they were designed for, except for running around as the goose. but instead of buffing them at a baseline, they gave him a skilltree that makes them viable. this feels kinda weird. like, a player who tries playing as woodie for the first time is now substantially worse off than someone who has done a run as him before, but not even inherently because of skill and understanding of the character, but because stuff like weremoose being basically unusable in combat and kitschy idles being way worse to use without having perks for it. and it sorta compounds with your issue of power stagnation because there's nothing to really make woodie better over the run, so one woodie run at all sets him to full power by default on any world.
    we were more accepting of wilson keeping perks between worlds cuz like, he's wilson, he doesn't really have a basekit to balance at all, and his perks are mostly convenience kinda stuff. but when it comes to every other character it gets kinda awkward, cuz the game is already running into the trap of using skill trees to "buff" a character, but also having skill trees like wolfgang that are just giving him even bigger numbers to work with. personally our favorite skill tree right now is probably wormwood, it's mostly stuff that isn't being treated as a buff or just straight up being better (mostly), but little convenience things or crafting interactions relating to wormwood's archetype. the more combat oriented part of their skill tree is actually locked in use early game because it requires brightshade to begin with, which by that point, sure, why not break archetype a bit. it still requires putting in the work to reach that point and getting items specifically wormwood would want to reach max power.
    love the were-form buffs on woodie, but would prefer they just be a balance patch to them mostly, and having woodie's perks be more stuff like the lumberjack and woodcarving branches, stuff that's more small perks or crafting recipes feels more fitting as what this system should be used for, at least from our perspective. just kinda wanna avoid the hypothetical outcome of like, walter never getting a buff in the slightest, but getting a skill tree that "fixes him" so it's okay. or maybe we're thinking way too hard about this cuz we've literally never seen anyone else have this take on skill trees being added. sorry for the huge post, good video btw.

    12:24 A change to allow the Werebeaver to also multitask could be by allowing moleworms to collect and burrow any item in the ground, including wood (currently they only burrow rock-related items)
    This way you could cut down a lot of trees in Werebeaver form and the moles would collect all the wood in nice stacks for you to dig up
    Since this tech is so useful when mass collecting rocks from stone fruits, I suspect it would also be useful for collecting wood

    I think that Weregoose mastery should've given Woodie a Wortox-type teleport, my idea was that he could fly to anywhere that was already explored in the map, costing a huge amount of wereness (50% honestly sounds fair) and landing him in a random spot around that area which I think is fair considering that you're giving up Weremoose and Beaver mastery, and that Weregoose becomes underwhelming. Using up 3 monster meat and 2 seeds just to teleport home would also be a balanced perk IMO, compared to wanda's one-time investment or Wortox's souls being something you'd already have

    Man I wish there was atleast a mod that added that armor/head slot as you mentioned. Amazing ideas that would really make woodie feel like a 10/10 character.

    I think that they should allow you to combine different materials with the idles to provide different buffs. Like adding some honey to the idle to slightly boost the healing factor. Or nightmare fuel to add more protection against shadow creatures and damage against lunar. This would allow them to add different variations and fix the issue for being maxed out from the start. If they do this it should probably use harder materials to get

      @@BigHatLoganGaming Right now the only changes to Weremoose after this video are that he gets stun immunity on his 2nd and 3rd punch, and the regen was halved. They nerfed and reverted the damage change to the 3rd punch.
      Weremoose is in a near-perfect spot now imo, the charge being usable for kiting, the nerfed regen not being too overpowered while effectively giving him some more health to survive some exhausting bosses like Toadstool, the stun immunity making the 3rd hit damage more consistent, being able to move at default speed, just, everything about every change to the moose feels so good and fun. Can't wait until the update hits live servers.

    would have been cool for the beaver to be able to carry items on his tail inside a crumpled package that has maybe like 10 slots (but not be able to use them) as a skill
    with that they could pick up logs and pinecones and when u turn back, the crumpled package with the items is dropped on the ground where u turned human

    9:49 You forget to mention that that third hit doesnt work for kiting, like you show at 9:51
    Unless you can do full 3 hit combo which is harder as moose attacks slower, you dont get that sweet 150
    13:44 My ide awould be giving goose 1-3 slot inventory but it autopickups whatever it runs (loose items only) over, Why? Picking up nicely packed stacks is much faster than each and every log alone.
    Goose sucks after early game and this would make it amazing

    Seems the form extension skills increase the were form by 1 min each. Meaning all 3 can make a single were from last 7 minutes

    even though they fixed all the problems for the most part, the weremoose still doesn't sit right with me. Don't get me wrong, they changes they made make him actually really good, but the problem is the base kit weremoose is still just as bad as it's always been, and it feels like the perks are just picking up the slack. The other were forms are perfectly usable right out of the package, they do exactly what they need to do, which is why I don't think I'd invest insight into them, but it feels like I need to unlock all four weremoose perks before I can even use it, imagine if Maxwell never got reworked and all of his current perks had to be unlocked via his skill tree, that's pretty much how I see the weremoose. I wish they would give the characters some minor TLC with their skill trees, like removing the movement speed and attack speed penalties, along with some minor reworking of the perks for balancing, so that his perks actually felt like additions rather than CPR

    I think that this is pretty much about as good as a woodie skilltree would get, at first I was scared about nerfing the health generation ending up in going overboard and making it worthless (wormwood skilltree healing at time of writing lol) obviously there are issues this still lacks, like i would love if the amulet addition was added, but not many complaints (also I feel as if the section of this video dedicated to the healing being too strong is really necessary anymore)

      She can deconstruct the pillows to get steel wool and make a war saddle for a beefalo. Usually, Ewecus don’t appear until a little while after the world has been made, so with the bunnyman event, you can rush the war saddle

    Great video! I would like if in goose form woodie can keep his backpack (or armor) and hat gear items so that goose is actually useful in mid/late game to transport from A to B. This being a replacement for final mastery for goose (the flying thing ).

    I keep coming back to Weremoose.... His character is just so fun to play. Playing him plays like you're playing a super hero because as Woodie you're a little weak but with your idols you can transform into these awesome things with their own unique powers and mechanics. You're absolutely right though in that he feels super stagnant and your suggestions are brilliant.
    I know you mentioned that there's no point in using Weremoose if you're just character switching but I disagree with you there. He's just so fun. Screw Wolfgang. Moose doing 1.8-3x damage is even MORE fun. And because of the nature of his powers Woodie is kind of built to find lunar island early and set up an automatic volt goat. You could probably get to 2-3 herds by the first summer. I know it's an issue with the game dseign itself but I feel that getting that volt goat farm set up is PART of Woodie's progression. He'll never really need a thulecite crown or club but 1.8x - 3x damage versus big baddies and an easy time with all the seasonal bosses, mini-bosses and mobs just make the game super fun to play.

    Regarding Woldie's tree collection speed compared to maxwell I don't think that Woodie HAS to be the #1 wood harvesting speed character tbh. Yes, while it would fit his character, he already has many upsides over maxwell in comparison combat wise, especially with the buffed were-moose now. As well as Woodie being the one of, if not the best scouting characters with were-goose- AND the now added utility of making discount walking canes for the entire server, the board crafting efficiency, and the treeguard totems.
    If maxwell wasn't as good at harvesting stuff as woodie, people woildn't have much reason to play him, unless they were maybe newer players who wanted to manage sanity easier

      You underestimate Maxwell, he is also better at fighting than woodie, at least on the bosses that matter. Only thing Woodie is better than Max is early game map exploration.

      When Cozy Bunnyman spawns, some of them places a Steel Wool Pillow Armor on the ground which you can deconstruct for fast and consistent Steel Wool for crafting War Saddle.

    I think skill points need a rework.
    You shouldn't be able to permanently unlock them
    But speedrunners should be able to use them.
    So unlock one skill point every 5 days and get a free skill point everytime a boss is defeated.
    This would make weremoose weaker in the early game, but would get progressively stronger.
    The problem ofc is joining day 200+ worlds where you are weaker than everyone, but who tf does that?

    I hope that Wickerbottom rework will turn her into a proper battle mage and will have like two or three times more grind and variables on books and passive perks , which will create several "versions" of Wickerbottom. She truly deserves to be THE character of this game.
    I agree that the skills etc. should allow for longer gameplay and characters should scale more - things like Maxwell gaining a bonus "free worker" for each Shadow Helmet player received - and a way to make each shadow maxwell stronger, either by giving them physical armor/weapon or by giving Maxwell spells in his book that maybe heal his shadow clones or revive recently dead ones. THere's so much to do to make this game amazing.

    I think Woodie's ability to pick up items faster was Klei's response at making Woodie better at gathering wood.

    Everyone is getting too OP. Some of these buffs should only be activated after late game accomplishment like beating Fuelweaver or have a structure similar to upgrading pearl's house.

      These ARE late game, to unlock all of your skills you'd need to survive 150 days, everything else for the next run for example is a reward of your previous time.

    It’s funny to me how devs can make a broken character and people will still make videos on how they can be better. Chill man. He needs downsides for the upsides. It’s called balance. Asking for the beaver to auto pick up is so dumb. Be happy you can ground pound

      Groundpound sucks, it is only usefull for megabasers and they dont use it to gather wood.

      @@johng.a.9094 ground pound is a godsend when you need loads of wood or marble in a pinch and you already killed Bearger a couple days back or… it’s the first year.

      ​@@EnchantedMagna Beaver without groundpound is enough if loads of wood in a pinch is needed, it already gathers a lot of wood, especially if it has the second perk that makes it take one fewer bite to down a tree and even this one I dont take unless I want the third perk for Ryftstal and Dreadstone Outcrop (or ultra rushing nightmare werepig) because I find the base form to be enough for wood. Needing loads of marble in a pinch is stretching things , it takes a minimun of 10 days for a bunch of close planted marble trees to grow to max stage, I dont mega base nor need to stack a whole multiplayer server with marble by myself in a pinch so beaver's first upgrade is enough for me if I need to farm planted marble since I only use marble to make marble suits to solo beequeen. Those things are especially true in the first year of the world, early game Weremoose mastery or Weregoose mastery saves much more time than Beaver's groundpound - Weregoose mastery is not even good, only usefull to extend the time you stay in water by flying away when the weremeeter is near ending so you can stay longer in deep water looking for moonquay island but it is still better than Beaver groundpound early game.

      @@johng.a.9094 let’s not forget celestial portal is a thing and restating is a thing also. I literally use every perk from max beaver to max moose.. not the goose tho. If I need wood I switch to Woodie and stat him accordingly. If I need to clear an area of trees that are far apart I may max moose and use base beaver to clear and max moose for normal play in case I need to clear a hound wave or fight a tree guard. But you don’t really need to choose. It’s not set in stone

      ​@@EnchantedMagna Fair enough, the problem with the groundpound is that it is niche and feels more like a sidegrade to normal beaver than an upgrade , klei could allow trees downed by it to drop wood in stacks of the amount fallen from a single tree, for example: you down 5 fully grown picone trees using it and than each one of them would drop one stack of 3 logs, same amount of wood just easier to gather afterwards. Even with a change like this there would be better methods to gather wood like Beager , Maxwell + Palmcone trees or some farm using merms.
