You’re the first person I’ve seen that got it BEFORE the alarm went off
Watch LM reactions to it, they get everything before it drops through to the end
@@jokerrhys4957their playlists are a mess. I have seen a few channels like that and it puts me off. I like organised, ordered, complete playlists I can just add to my library and let them play / download the whole playlist and watch in my own time.
@@jokerrhys4957they're just really fuckin smart and good at predicting shows too
There are people that have seen this plot twist coming before
Another example of the show playing fair with its twists - back when this aired people were clocking the prison reveal from episode one. The weird red light is visible in all the dining room scenes, everyone at the diner are getting their food with trays in a line, and some other details.
Notice about the twist in this episode - remember Leon's words: "Do you wanna be here right now?" - *confused Elliot's face* - and then Leon clarified: "I don't mean, like, HERE-here, but I mean here in a cosmic sense." And now we found out where they were both at that time, and that the question without correction would have sounded like "do you wanna be IN JAIL right now?" 🤯 Sam is a genius.
Ay we finally made it to the season 2 twist let's go
This was done so well
@@JamesVSCinemaAnd some people say Season 2 is the weakest lol
@@JamesVSCinema All the Elliot's scenes in S02 up to this point have a ridiculous amount of vertical lines. Wallpapers, garden fences, lots of gates as well. The signs were all there.
@@stevemartegani
It being the weakest doesn't mean it's not great tho
@@stevemartegani In my list, it's 4-3-1-2, but they are all damn good, it's just that the rest of the seasons are better, in my opinion. That doesn't mean it isn't great, just not as good as the other ones.
Joey Bada$$ is such a revelation in this show. He's so good, so smooth and yet menacing without having to raise his voice. I love Dom's character just a bit more (she has a more fleshed-out arc by the end of the series), but only by a hair. Both are such fantastic recurring characters.
The side characters in the series are all pretty great. Not all of them are equally fleshed-out, of course, but they pack some much characterization. Irving is a blast.
One of my favorite episodes of the entire series
The scene of Ray and the chessboard, Leon stabing those guys and the plot twist are insane, underrated episode
People on Reddit figured out Eliot was in jail from Episode 1 based on the scenery and his routine - all of his activities, the confined room, and the routine visits to a courtyard, are the exact same activities an inmate would partake in.
The Mr Robot sub was hard at work back then. Dedicated mfers
Did not expect Joey to go so hard but damn he looks so cool all the time
You can say that Joey is a total badass
Haaaaaa!
They published the entirety of Elliot’s journal (as just a straight up composition book) which includes everything from getting into prison to where Season 2 picks up. You get a lot more about his and Leon’s friendship and a whole other story arc they have with Carla (the inmate burning his notebook near the end). It’s really interesting with a lot of cool revelations about Elliot and his past. Recommend it to anyone wanting more of the story
Where can I find it? I'm having troubles tracking it down.
@@spencerwattamaniuk950 Book is called "Mr. Robot Red Wheelbarrow: Eps1.91 redwheelbarr0w.Txt" There's also an audiobook that is spoken by Hot Carla, great listen, she also gives her little inputs throughout. Think you can find the audio on youtube as well.
I'm definitely checking that out. Thanks!
I didn't really see any American 00s comedies before I saw this show, and this was my introduction to Craig Robinson. Imagine my surprise when I saw him in comedic roles!
holy shit! nevertheless, i think we can agree he has the RAAAANGE
@@papl20 Yup!
Prison guard/warden. Hence the German Shepard and the other inmates so intimidated by him on the yard. Also had the van to leave the prison to visit his first tech's home. This was structured so well. This episode and it's reveal we're one of my favorites of the entire saga. And Joey... man... what a character. I didnt get the reveal either. That's what made it so good when it happens
One of the best hidden reveals in TV
The shot where he switches to Mr robot is so cool especially with what happens later in the show!!
This season is by far the most hated on, and while it is slightly less impactful than the others (especially the last 2), I still love the setup and twist. They build everything up so well, and it has a great payoff. It just keeps getting better from here.
I don't think "hated" is the right word, I think it would be better to say it's the least appreciated since it's slower paced compared to the rest of the show. But even with that people still like it and is amazing compared to other shows which destroy the story or characters.
@@toreadoress exactly. Every series has a season where its slower than the rest and people always bitch about it. While season 2 is a little slower than the rest, its still pivotal to the entire story.
Season 2 is my favorite! I love the darkness, twists and symbolism. It's like watching someone elses bad trip.
Well, that's one way to have a season with your character in prison and not even use an actual prison for 98% of your scenery. Lol.
I remember taking a class at the time and one of the topics was reliable narrators, and after watching this episode, just thinking "Elliot's gotta be one of the most unreliable narrators ever."
This episode blew my mind. You are the first I've seen get the twist before it dropped
Haha the twist reaction I wanted to see, the show is great!
I was waiting for this moment for this whole season! Great reaction! You were on it though with the lighting part of it. Every time you mentioned the lighting was gloomier and different when Eliot was on screen throughout this season, was because he was in jail and the lighting had to be different then those who are outside of jail. (This is something I never noticed watching the show, only noticed it when you would mention it throughout your reaction!)
One of my favorite twists of all time. And the way they filmed the reveal was genius as well, love the transitions
Love this episode, such a cool reveal. Crazy rewatching seeing all the clues for it too. Loved your reaction! Broke my mind exactly the same way I first watched this.
As Mr Robot said last episode "On the plus side I hear jumpsuits are in these days!"
I screamed so loud at the twist when this originally aired
Not sure I can pick a single favorite show but this is top 5 for sure. maybe top 3.
Tyrells wife please play prominent role in season three of the series Legion. Hey Noah Hawley written and produced show that he made after season two of Fargo
I've been waiting for you to find out his actually in jail😂😂😂 that shit blew me.. Like huhhh???!! 😂 James please watch SEVERANCE 😢
Love your reactions. I just finished the season 3 finale. Can’t wait for you to react to s3 so 10 of mr robot, such an amazing episode and such good tv.
Best place to be sometimes for a number of reasons. Nice seeing the penny eventually drop for James. The show ain’t finished pulling the rug out from under you yet James, more twists to come. Pretty sure they also play “Play The Game” music from One Flew Over The Cuckoo’s Nest near the end there too.
Joey is really a badass.
If you watch the first ep back as well, the use of Lupe Fiasco’s ‘Daydreamin’ was a nice foreshadowing for the jail reveal as well!
Crazy Episode! What on earth is this series.

Have a great day y'all!
Damn, I forgot they used the score from Brian De Palma's Blow Out on this episode. Tarantino used a cut from this score in Death Proof. It's one of his favorite movies.
They use a lot of movie scores on this show. Most notably, in my memory, Tangerine Dream's score for Risky Business.
Happy father's Day , man !
Shoutout to all the fathers 🤘🏽
Great to see you enjoying this, probably the best TV show, um, ever? Keep going, it's all this good :D
I wqs waiting for this episode reaction to drop, for so long. Damn... Worth the wait 😌
I remember this episode well not just because of the reveal but because I had rented this second season from my local library and this was the only episode that would stop playing half way through. I remember how many disc cleaning techniques I used on it and it still wouldn't play. I ended up having to order it out of state and wait weeks just to finish this one episode so I could finish this season. Never have I put so much effort into finishing a season of any series. That's when I knew this was my favorite series of all time. The detail they put into each episode is so incredible and endlessly inventive. Love that you're watching and enjoying this groundbreaking series.
Surprise!
Welcome to the point when you realize this shows f**ks with your mind all the time.
Well not all the time, but from time to time.
This reveal is so good!!!!! I absolutely loved this series
Triple s tier television
Man I remember the shitstorm that was happening the whole time this season was airing on the Mr Robot reddit. Some people predicted the twist after the first episode and many people hated Season 2 when it was airing
Another iconic music drop: opening shot of Tyrell coming down the stairs, and that entire sequence had Pino Donaggio’s theme from Brian DePalma’s Blow Out playing.
I've been waiting for this episode forever bro. So excited to see your reaction
Amazing episode, this show is really something else.
back when this season aired someone one reddit called the twist from episode 1.
Hahaha nice reaction, love your vids :)
Hey James! Been following your channel for a few months now and love your content. Any chance you’d add Twin Peaks to your roster? I think you’d enjoy falling down that rabbit hole!
I’d love to check it out honestly!
@@JamesVSCinema it’s quite an adventure! Would love your take on it as a filmmaker!🎥
That one episode from The Return is genuinely amazing cinema, one of the wildest experiments in TV I've ever seen.
Fun fact: people at reddit actually caught the twist in episode 1
Unreliable Narrator: The Series
Keep in your memory quotes from this ep:
•Better the devil you know than the devil you don't•
•What if the destination is you? What if it's always been you?•
this show is fucking good
Angelas father is Connor Roy?
🤯🤯🤯
Craig Robinson proves that casting to type needs to disappear. At the point when he took this role he's already a beloved comedian and musician. Yet that's all forgotten thanks to an incredible menacing as all hell performance.
hacked the fbi from prison! 🤯
