One thing i love about this show is the code that they show on screen is real and not just gibberish. One of the people involved in this show was a programmer and spoke at my University when this show came out
I think you'll really love this show.. Sam Esmail is a huge film lover and he pays homage to both classic and modern film throughout the series. He also incorporates his own experimental style (which might feel just a little self-indulgent at times) but it really is exceptional. Cheers to your 1st episode, looking forward to more!

This show has some insane cinematography throughout specifically with their framing. Please pay attention to how they ignore the rule of thirds and specifically frame people in weird spaces. Once you’ve scene the show more you’ll be able to pick out scenes of the show from any screenshot.
I truly can't wait to partake this journey with you. The hacking is extremely realistic by the way; Pretty much 1:1 with reality. Although it is not that futuristic, this is one of the best pieces of cyberpunk fiction there is. Also one of the best soundtracks in television.

Dude... No show has come close to the absolute perfection this show is. Not only the technical side, the cinematography, the soundtrack, the storytelling, the acting is otherworldly, but also the story in itself is deeply human and realistic. Is heartbreaking but also inspirational. This show is both a love and hate later to humanity.

Finally! A reaction channel that I regularly watch is starting a reaction to the best show out there (for me at least) Excitement aside, this show is way to underrated imo, not only did it touch and mold my soul entirely once the final episode's credits rolled, but it also influenced real life choices of mine, such as taking up programming. The entirety of this show simultaneously made me 100% invested in every single plot line & character, thoroughly entertained by the execution of how they show/reveal things, and resonated with me deeply. Well this is enough to get me to sub to the Patreon, though I don’t know if I could handle a long wait for the rest of the seasons haha. Legitimately the greatest show ever, especially in the later seasons. The story, music, cinematography, and acting are all phenomenal.
It's really neat how this show uses actual hacking techniques that have been employed by cyber criminals in a lot of real cases. When they've talked about cyber security at my work, they talk about how the people are the vulnerability more often than the systems. It's much easier for hackers to trick an employee into giving them some access, than to just computer their way into the system. It's now very normal for a company to send a fake email to their employees as a test to see whether any click what could have been a malicious link. In this show, they make a point to actually explain how the hack has taken place. Whether Elliot has gleaned a password from studying a target, or whether the hack required physically accessing the computer, there's an explanation for how they managed to breach a system beyond "this guy is so good at computers, he can just go anywhere."

This is a superb show and great story, it gets complex enough it's almost impossible to get spoilers, it does get a little convoluted at times but not so much to take you out of the tale, has some great twists and turns you'll never see coming; Elliot is an incredible "black hat" hacker

Jeff Moss aka Dark Tangent (hacker moniker) is the leader hacking consultant for the show. He is founder of Defcon and Black Hat, computer security conferences. So everything they do on the show hacking related is portrayed as real as the shows story can allow along with many other hacker consultants.
It took me 2 full viewings of this series, but it has become my favorite. Patience definitely pays off with this one. Criminally underrated. If it had been on a more prestigious channel or a streamer like Netflix, it would be mentioned alongside Breaking Bad and The Wire as an all-timer.
Great show, as someone with hardcore social anxiety myself in a similar way to the main character I find him really relatable. Several differences though, he obviously has something other than social anxiety at play, some kind of ocd or high scale autism. He leaves his house a lot, I never leave my house unless I have to. He talks about being emotional due to lack of human contact, that's not something I can relate to as well as the inner monologue and imaginary friends in his head to talk to. Me and several other people I know with similar issues never even have the thought of such things, but then we don't have compounding issues. The physical contact reactions though, absolutely genuine. Being physically touched by someone feels very icky, always, and to endure it is definitely a showing of trust with the person (When he hugged his friend). It's a powerful action.
It's been Years and I still haven't recovered from the last season of this show, a true underrated masterpiece. I'm looking forward to you covering this. peace ✌❤

In a world ruled by populism and oneliners, in-depth commentary and genuine feedback is so rare that I'm almost tempted to applaud RUclips for providing a platform for this kind of interaction. And you, James, ofc, for filling a gap left by a.o. Siskel and Ebert. I know, there's a bunch of very good commentators around. But for some reason, you're the one I stuck with. You must be doing something right ;)

Jeff Moss aka Dark Tangent (hacker moniker) is the leader hacking consultant for the show. He is founder of Defcon and Black Hat, computer security conferences. So everything they do on the show hacking related is portrayed as real as the shows story can allow along with many other hacker consultants.
It took me 2 full viewings of this series, but it has become my favorite. Patience definitely pays off with this one. Criminally underrated. If it had been on a more prestigious channel or a streamer like Netflix, it would be mentioned alongside Breaking Bad and The Wire as an all-timer.
Great show, as someone with hardcore social anxiety myself in a similar way to the main character I find him really relatable. Several differences though, he obviously has something other than social anxiety at play, some kind of ocd or high scale autism. He leaves his house a lot, I never leave my house unless I have to. He talks about being emotional due to lack of human contact, that's not something I can relate to as well as the inner monologue and imaginary friends in his head to talk to. Me and several other people I know with similar issues never even have the thought of such things, but then we don't have compounding issues. The physical contact reactions though, absolutely genuine. Being physically touched by someone feels very icky, always, and to endure it is definitely a showing of trust with the person (When he hugged his friend). It's a powerful action.
Knowing what I know about the series, I love watching you begin to unravel the details of Elliot. It's an enthralling show.
It's been Years and I still haven't recovered from the last season of this show, a true underrated masterpiece. I'm looking forward to you covering this. peace ✌❤
