      Sad thing is that your parent's generation actually still learned to code on their crappy C64 and the like, while all that you can do is to restart the router. But yeah, be proud of being able to switch the thing off and back on again.

    • @GwyndolinOwO
      @GwyndolinOwO 3 года назад +21

      @@小牛-o5f i wouldn't say that's the same thing. yeah people who used very early versions of DOS likely know a lot of commands that I wouldn't know how to use at all but i think part of what makes things so difficult is progress.
      The internet has also changed a lot over the years, like if the internet stopped working in 80's instead of checking a router you'd probably ask anyone around the house if they are on the phone since phonecalls during the time shared lines on dial-up (I can't say i exactly know how it works but typically without special tools you could either use the internet or call, but not both at the same time)
      and obviously as time changes the version of "check the router" changed as well. It went from getting mad at people to being on phones to making sure there's nothing wrong with a box that gives a connection and the router issue might have been something that existed in that time as well, but i at least find the phone issue to be at least a little more relatable then DOS or other older computers. Like my grandma can use a computer pretty well but tools that didn't exist before still confuse her, there's been a time or two where she's accidently turned on "airplane mode" and couldn't get the internet back on for her computer, and she still has a hard time figuring out how a hotspot works.

    Hearing them say the mr.robot scene wasn’t accurate hurt a little :( I think if they knew the context of what he was doing - the fact that he was writing an exploit to hack into the fbi’s phones which Angela would help to deliver by hacking into the FBI’s network whilst they were at E Corps building - would have given them better context of what he was doing, rather than them think Elliot was just trying to hack the FBI from home lol

    For more knowledge I will recommend to watch Mr Robot Seaspn 2 episode 3,4,5 and 6.
    And hacking FBI is not impossible it done 3 times in real life.
