I’m a little late to the party but you should give UVI Plate a shot! I was using Arturia’s plate verb for a while but then I tried UVI and for a flexible plate there’s nothing can top it that I’ve found if you’re not looking specifically for an EMT emulation and just a solid plate verb.
I opted for the Radiance because it sounds great, it's cheaper, tweakability, and the cherry on top is the parametric EQ! Means I can bus it alone without a separate EQ instance. Great review mate 👍🏼
Great… I just got the SoundToys update with Super Plate and now I am very interested in Radiance haha. Glad I held off on the UAD Emt since I’m trying to ween off of Dsp where I can. I’ve heard that Radiance doesn’t exactly sum to mono very well (or Super Plate for that matter). Any benefit to the UAD one in that regard? Thanks, and no worries if no response.
There was a kink with the summing feature in the beta which I believe now been fixed and improved (see for yourself with a demo?) Personally I love the UAD one and feel it’s got a different, more lush, sound (which hopefully comes across in the shootout). It’s not to say that it’s better but it’s different. Outside of that you get more models, more tweakability and customization in Radiance so I suppose it comes down to core sound at that point.
Sonically they’re very close but at a functionality level I find Radiance to be much more tweak-able. There doesn’t appear to be a freeze or infinity setting in Radiance but that doesn’t really bother me.
Very dope shootout. Hmmm, they are both really good. I think it's going to be subjective and the listening audience won't be able to tell as long as it's good.
Honestly I think I prefer this to SuperPlate if only for the old school time-based ducking ballistics. Obviously if you’re a hardcore Effects Rack user you’ll want to incorporate SuperPlate over Radiance but I’m pretty impressed with what Wave Alchemy have cooked up.
I felt radiance's tail was clearer and brighter than UAD's. Both sound great!
yet radiance better

How does it compare to the super plate ?

Is the ducking similar ?
It’s superior in Radiance
Thx

Off topic but I'd love to know what mic that is. Looks like a Lewitt but I can't tell which one.
Lewitt LCT 1040
@@ManchesterMusic Oh god, it's the really expensive one haha, no wonder it sounds so good. One day...
It was a wedding gift ha. Incredible mic

I have both, Radiance sound more realistic. SuperPlate sound more muddy and can go beyond an EMT decay.
will NI make dedicated controllers for izotope plugins like softube and ssl have?
Oh boy..
