While in the military I normally had the Beretta M9 (92FS). Now retired have the same. But it’s for home, range or chest rig. When one a deployment ‘07-08, we had G17s come in & I fell in love with the bbl length. Years later got the G19 for CC. As a glock armorer I have to state I totally love your hack on your G17 for the mags and hop you show your mag well finished. People will probably throw you grief but until they throw a few thousand rounds on different frames and systems they are only keyboard warriors talking outa their azzzzzz. TX has no mag restrictions so when CC’ing my bag will have three long mags with only 30 rounds in each. If no bag it’s a regular mag and flashlight. No pistol will ever be my primary after running short on 5.56 a few times. Love your “no nonsense” comment- On the same visit a “ninja” let me borrow his M4. His was clean... no heavy add-ons. He gave me double the mags and said, “Ya rather have weight on the weapon or that weight in added Ammo?” Changed my life and saved it... many times. Back to pistols, in winter, we stuck to the 9mm to get through the layers of clothing in the mountains. Summers, the .45s were game changers. Always had to have FMJ but it really saved on rounds to bad guy ratios...Just wish you had more viewers Jamie. Ever in Texas, we can hit the range. Tight groups and God speed. JJ
I had the same modification back in the early 90's with a Gen 1 Glock 17. I wanted a 19 but couldn't find one in my area. A friend perfectly matched the size and contour of the 19 frame and fit a grip plug. A couple years ago I had the frame laser stippled and upgraded the sights and trigger. It has returned to be I being my main ccw. I really like the longer sight radius.
And then brownells FINALLY came out with a 19L i guess slide/barrel combo to basically make it a 19 frame and a 17 slide and barrel. Still doesnt beat free, but just wonder why glock never offered it. Instead went a different direction by making the 19X (17 frame, 19 slide n barrel)
Did this a bunch of years ago and made the mistake of going down to a G26 after I did it to the 19 length. Getting the itch to do it again with the new frame. Nice video!
I was able to do my gen 3g17 with a hacksaw in one cut. Beveled the mag well with a Dremel and Emory cloth and works great. I’d like to fit some type of plug or fill in the back strap as I occasionally have hangups there during mag changes. I prefer my 19s but it’s nice. Also I have grip force adapters on mine.
Admire your nice workmanship ! Did you keep the cut off piece ? If so, perhaps fashion a jig for future modifications and patent that and sell it to an outfit like the Glock Store, Midway, or Brownells. The critical part was your patience and skill to make the correct measurement for the cut and not remove too much in finishing. Glock themselves should be taking notice. There are lots of used cost effective 17s and 22s out there for this project.
To each their own. I guess knowing you want to carry it and prefer to mod over getting a 19 that does make sense. There are a lot of people who do this and it just doesn’t make sense. Sight radius gain, velocity gains, etc aren’t big enough imo to have it make sense. All in all not a bad job but I say do it with a 17 long now 😄
this guy has huge hands. the 17 fits his hand like the 19 fits mine.

The finished frame video is already shot. I will release it in a week or two. Thanks for watching.

Can't believe it was that simple. Thanks for the vid, dude.

Great mod. Can't believe I didn't think of this.

GLOCK 31 GEN4 357SIG
GRIP CHOP
CAN USE GLOCK 32 MAGS
BETTER CONCEALABILITY

357SIG HAS EXTREME BALLISTICS
You remind me of an old buddy of mine that passed away a few yrs ago.
Dude had demons but a heart of gold.
That one suffers from erratic ejection as well.
Crazy, CRAZY idea I've had for awhile, take 34 frame and chop the handle down to a 26 size but with a 17L slide for ccw. Thoughts?
You had me with chop. Go for it.

Why not lower it down to 26 frame size?
Go for it
This is a great idea
Can you make a taurus g3 chop to accommodate g2c mags? Thank you.
Probably
Damnit, I should’ve bought the Glock 22 and did this! Well…I guess I’ll make another purchase lol
Haha I did

Looking at the comments I guess I'm the only one that thinks this is dumb asf to do to your gun🤷♂️
Gun modification isn't for everyone
