They didn't go with a gen 3 mag release in particular. They went with a gen 3 platform. Because that's what most people want to build, it's the most common, and has the best aftermarket support.
Try eclipse for your holster. They're pretty quick. I like the post comes up. Just seems to me be a proper way. I hate flights just my opinion. Have all a wonderful day
Love my SCT frame. The only thing I don't like is their brand magwell. It seats nicely, but there's no retention where the pinky would lay. Even the trigger that came with the frame was smooth and polished. Added a ghost edge connector, and it's butter.
Get the SCT magwell flare. Brownell’s has it. It’s a few bucks, snaps in, and makes the grip look way more finished. Not a huge flare - just enough. Works on SCT 19 as well and adds a good pinky rest.
Yeah, but I ran the 19 and it was to small, and the 17 is a good size I just don’t think it’s for me. I don’t hate the frame by any means, but if I don’t like it, there’s a zero % chance I’m gonna spend the money to upgrade it
I should probably get some aftermarket mags at some point. So far, after shooting a G17 for 15 years with OEM mags, I've not had a chance to practice clearing any malfunctions.
SCT frames have their place, I have built several, built a Dagger also, but I personally prefer the Lonewolf platform. They are more ergonomic for me and I have a 19x version plus a 17 version. Like the dagger though the trigger and trigger bar are the only thing Glock compatible to switch out.
Great review Sir! I've been looking at SCT frames for my SS CR920P and MR920 for the extra mag capacity and for a longer grip on the CR920P. Keep up the great work!
SCT is different but not bad. I’ve had great success with Tyrant CNC parts. Zev Tech and SCT make OEM parts for Glock. Anything mass produced will have slight play in tolerances, but they are 2 companies that know what they are doing. Side note, all frames are usually made for Gen 3 parts, including mag release. Gen 3 is no longer restricted so anyone can make them. Gen 5 parts have to be licensed and approved by Glock for them to be made.
If you run a PM Light. You can use a glock holster + hair-dryer. Won't hold glock very well after. But really good retention on these frames after heating and cooling :)

Magwell was pinching me. Cheapened the overall presentation of the pistol in my mind.

The 19 magwell does not fit the sct17
@Optimization_Coach to date, I believe there is no magwell that fits the 17.
@@wadewilson524 I agree totally. It makes a difference for sure.
did you have any trouble with slide stop I can't for the life of me get it release even with an extended add on. great video
@@Armando1228 no, I’ve not had that issue. Mine will drop if I put the mag in to hard
@@shootintheshtpodcast I may have to dry that but I manually want to release it forget it lol stiff! Otherwise really nice frame
I have the same issue, I'm going to replace the frame guts, I have to push the slide forward like half an inch to engage the round
Mines came in Tuesday and it works fine the only thing I don’t like is how the mag can wiggle a little when I put it in

@@chuckr5929 i also have a Lone Wolf 19x. The beaver tail is better than the SCT and Grit Grip. The grip angle is better too.
@@CompanyHaze I agree with you, I shoot it a lot better than the SCT.

My SCT frame is having sporadic ejection, not nearly as consistent as what's shown on the video. What ejector are you using?
The one that came with it, and a zaffiri slide kit
lol the 'frame' isnt responsible for ejection issues
Do you know how this frame fits with a non light bearing holster?
Nope, put a light on your pistol.

To swap out the mag release, will it be a gen 3 mag release?
Yes. Personally I like the ghost low pro non extended.
@@yavindesolate6444 ok thank
Jx Tactical Fat Guy Holster has options and North Coast Tactical T.U.C. Holster have specific SCT holster
Great review
I wonder for legalities they couldn’t put a gen 4 mag release button on it.
Lone Wolf uses a Gen 4 on their frame. So that's probably not it. But I have no problem with the Gen 3. I got big hands.
I love my SCT-19 frame. I’m a lefty also and run into problems finding a good holster.
Apparently almost all p80 fitted holsters fit the SCT-19 and 17
