    The bird clock and the talking fish from the 90s drove me crazy then. Not my thing. I’m 66 and I remember the cat clock that eyes moved from when I was a kid. Would love to have the one my mom had. Trips to the Goodwill can definitely bring back memories. My daughter has snagged my covered Pyrex dishes that were wedding gifts 1975. I never ran them in the dishwasher and the “ harvest gold and avocado greens are still vibrant. My grandmother was born in 1904. I have a lot of her Christmas ornaments from the 1930s and 1940s. When I was a young girl she had bubble lights. I think they were filled with oil. They were beautiful. I bet they were a fire hazard. I love when you come across things that remind me of my grandmothers. Love your channel!

    I LOVE that you are including footage and commentary on your "cart review" at the end of each trip. This is a very responsible thing to do. It's a good example to new resellers on how to edit down one's finds to only the most likely to gain profit. As someone who obviously cares about her audience, I'm sure you're aware that new resellers follow you and emulate your every move. What newbies don't initially realize is that you have a big, loyal following from RUclips that drives hundreds of buyers to your eBay store -- and you have other outlets for selling your merch, as well. The average newbie reseller won't have anyway near that exposure on eBay/Posh/Mercari, etc. -- and therefore must be even MORE careful to evaluate their choices when thrifting. Thank you!

    I’d love to find a Dala horse at goodwill sometime. I found one once at a flea market, but that was in Sweden so probably not very uncommon haha. It was probably from the 1970’s or so. I found another one at Swap Meet that is from the late 1800’s or very early 1900’s that was turned into a candleholder by someone who forgot to put out the candle and the part around the candle hole got badly burnt. I still love it though, despite being in very bad shape and much of the paint worn off it’s a prized possession.

    • @skateranddancer
      @skateranddancer Год назад +5

      The important thing is that they eventually get to someone who can appreciate and love the item.
      I was just talking to someone at Goodwill today about how amazing it I to be able to see a pieces history. She had a framed painting with multiple notes from friends on the back of the frame.
      I picked up 6 books that still had little note tabs all over the books with the best spots. I definitely bought another 8 or so books a couple weeks ago that had belonged to the same person. Full of bookmarks, note tabs, and grocery lists.
      My favorite lasagna recipe came from a random cutout inside another book.
      The wonderful goodies can still live on through goodwill and resale (although ideally your family would get the value of the items).

    The irony...at 14:34 your red aisle curse continues...that was definately a Royal Vienna portrait plate. I sold a similar plate in 2019 for $2300.00. I was hoping you'd go back to it and put it in your cart!!

    The vase with decoration was there in your last video at that same store. Wondered why you didn't get it then it's so beautiful! Not sure what it is though.

    You could have used a hair dryer to take the tape off of those jars.

    You found some things today. So sad that you couldn't buy the dolls. They were beautiful but you were right, they were priced to keep not sell sadly.
