Which classic Bond Car would you want to take for a drive?
Me personally:
BMW Z8
2CV
Lotus Esprit
Mercedes 600 (W100)
any of the Rolls-Royce
Toyota 2000GT
(i just checked the list of cars 007 used in all of the films, and these arethose i would like to drive once and i doubt ever get a chance to do so for reasons...)
DBS from QoS for me please 😎
jaguar cx75
I’d have the V8 vantage from the living daylights over any other and 2nd, the lotus esprit from the spy who loved me
The Vanquish from Die Another Day. 💕
Hope you all enjoy this - what a fun day it was. The DB5 stunt car was utterly glorious; seriously quick, really oversteery (in a fun, classic car way) and with a sound that you would never get bored of. Much as I admire the original, the stunt car is the one I'd have.
Yeah it's class mate 👌
The moment you said that you won't be walking out of the beach in as Daniel Craig in Casino Royale style, I stopped watching
Mate!! Amazing video, looks like you had a great time. Thanks for keeping us entertained at home. Cheers!!
Hi Henry, Great video! One clarification, is the I6 in the stunt car a S54?? Sounds close but a bit hard to tell
@@dylondylondylondylondylon5 Thank you. Aston obviously wouldn't confirm, or open the bonnet, but you can be pretty sure it is.
Henry could easily play the role of Q in the next Bond
true, Henry is a bit young to be M, but I see Henry as a villain
@@valgehiir Na, Henry's to nice to be a Bond villain. Maybe a Bond Boy?? LMAO
Nah, more like moneypenny. 😂
True
I laughed when I read that then stopped; that's a great idea!
Man that thing is gorgeous, especially that engine! The slow death of the N/A straight 6 is one of the biggest tragedies of our time, what a wonderful powerplant
An extra bonus point for any video that features Mark Higgins. A certifiable loon with serious driving chops.
Love that Higgins basically says the Quantum car chase was ruined by ridiculous editing.
How about that 2016 TT lap in the WRX? Absolutely mental, I'd have been shitting myself in the passenger seat.
Incredibly skilled driver.
@@sixstringedthing I was just thinking the same thing.
Now that you've mentioned, you NEED to do a "Daniel Craig coming out of sea" intro for your next Aston Martin car review.
Would be absolutely hilarious! Must see....
I really don't miss Top Gear or the Grand Tour anymore. This tops them all.
Well done Mr C.
tops them so easily
Very kind. Thank you.
One of the best motoring journalists for sure! Love a Henry film
Henry's only competition is Harry, very different videos, these two are best on RUclips or tv, no competition, really
Henry.. you're the best..
That rolling shot at 0:20 is absolutely gorgeous. Massive kudos to your film guys - the production is tremendous.
My name is catchpole , Henry catchpole
Except not that great with women 😂
Police. "License to kill Sir?" Henry. "errr no; license to drive though......."
Pure S54 music, in a light chassis all in the hands of a master wheelman and with a big screen movie franchise backdrop, what’s not to love here? 👍❤️
This is epic. Really epic. Thanks for bringing this video to us Henry!
Great video, thank you so much Carfection!! Gorgeous Aston Martin, it was very cool getting some of the behind the scenes info!
Henry in Bonds car.......doesn’t get any better 👌🏻👌🏻
Discovered this channel a couple of days ago. Think I watched 10 reviews in a row, brilliant content! Keep it up the effort is much appreciated.
Haven't seen @HenryCatchpole smile so much in a while...
That was terrific! Thanks. I'm a huge Bond fan and this feature was fascinating. Note: I averted my eyes when the clips from NTTD were inserted. Cannot wait until November!
Absolutely brilliant video Henry. Such a pleasure to watch as always
Henry Catchpole on Carfection, Harry Metcalfe of Harry's Garage. The best film motoring journalists by a country mile.
Bravo Carfection and Henry...yet another spectacular film, what a car and what a sound!
Henry is one of the few reasons I watch RUclips
I think I'm smiled watching this almost as much as Henry did making it. Great stuff team.
Carfection videos are getting better and better, great intro thanks!
Thanks Henry!! Amazing video yet again
Thanks very much for the video - gave me a lot of joy :)
I can't remember the last car test video I watched with a huge envious smile on my face and it was great to watch him enjoying the ride too.
Wow, that must have been a very special occasion for Henry to comb his hair! ;-)
Always interesting to see and hear the “behind the scenes” segments of these fantasy action films. So clearly illustrates the old saying, “don’t try this at home.” Kudos to those who make these films possible.
thank you so much for this Henry
Excellente your commentary and your knowledge regarding all cars matched with your driving skills ....., just the perfect match for a perfect program.
Thanks for sharing all the insight but moreover for your uncomplicated way of commentating and being so down to earth.
In the last video you were ging up a hilll in a Farrari 250, now you hoon about in various DB5's. As the saying goes "what a lucky boy". What a lucky audience too, thnak you.
More unbelievably cool content from Carfection. A 300bhp carbon fibre DB5 weighing 1000kg, with Mark Higgins wringing it's neck. Yes please gentlemen.
Henry Catchpole, you lucky bugger :) That was brilliant 👍👍👍👍👍
Well done H, perfect car, lovely film.
Regards.
WF
Love the fact that you couldn't hear one word when Henry's driving the stunt car.
Another brilliant Carfection film.
Henry having fun, again. Nice one👍. My classic bond car, the Bentley from the original Casino Royal.
The sound of those engines - awesome. Love this episode.
A future show going into some technical details of these unique types of cars would be amazing. Alfaholics, comes to mind too. Or any other low volume/specialty cars.... keep up the great work!
Hope you guys are OK in the UK, love a video by the man/bean pole Henry
Brilliant! Here is an idea; I wonder if the film companies will ever consider realeasing a complete chase sequence as originally intended, with all the cut bits reinstated, as a seperate entity on youtube. I'm sure we will all love to see that.
Epic Henry and Carfection👌🏼👏🏼🙌🏼
Second time watching this video, absolutely amazing. Well done sir.
Great review Henry, thanks
Thank you for a relaxed interview
Fabulous video! And thanks for the quip about Daniel Craig, absolutely hilarious 😂
This video was truly shaken not stirred Cheers!
What a great video. Terrific !
any takers for this being an S54 from an E46 M3?
100% it is. I have one and that's an m3 gear knob. Plus that engine sound is unmistakable because of the ITBs and that raspy noise.
That engine in a 1000kg db bodyshell is absolutely amazing.
Haha yeah. It has the exact sound of an approaching vapeboi.
@@alert.272 this offended me so much as an e46 owner, I almost chocked on my vape
Yup
@@howarddavies136 I have a 330ci and I'm jealous
I don't know why i'm such a fan but i'm always so relieved to see Henry over any one else review a car.
We had a DB6 come in at work once for a carb tune up, it's the only car to ever make me emotional to look at, truly beautiful
My favourite car, ever..... so happy to see this video
That engine sounds so good! I could listen to that all day!
Well this is my new favorite carfection video.
What a beautiful, timeless car... Love the DB5!
This is too cool. Amazing replica, very impressive.
I've met Mark a few times during my years with the British Rally Championship, both him and his brother are really nice blokes, really knowledgeable and a good laugh.
I was driven down to a Spanish marina in one of Bond cars (with the sat nav screens) when I was much much younger, the owner was an investment banker husband of my mum's colleagues (this DB5 was one of his holiday cars, kept abroad permanently). Sure, the lack of headrests (sounds weird to say, but really is one of the main things i remember) meant my brother could poke me in the head, but it really didn't matter: The car i was in was unimaginably special, and given that i was fairly young at the time as much as i loved it i wish I could have appreciated it more. Honestly ever since that day I have really struggled to come to terms with the fact that I will never get to another point in my life equal to those 20 minutes. I thought as I got older I would get over it more, but I genuinely am genuinely getting more and more unsatisfied with my life knowing that i will never experience that moment again.
To my knowledge, he sold that car a few years back since it really needed some TLC that he wasn't prepared to get done himself, replaced with a Dino as of at least 2019 (presumably still owns that since Covid would have prevented him going to the car between 2020 and sometime during 2021).
I can see the telephone ringing off the hook at Aston Martin with I want one of those. Nice driving BTW, loved the way you used the throttle mid corner.
Another fine report...You are a very lucky man HC.
Very cool video! I would enjoy to drive the transformed DB5!!!
Man that S54 sounds fantastic! ;)
it could never have been a British engine..filming would have taken 5 years because of all the blown engines that needed replacing
Always happy when Henry is the presenter! The other presenters are great too, but Mr. Catchpole is the best in the business!
Sir that was amazing.
What a brilliant car..can't wait more to see "No Time To Die".
My dad owned a DB5 in the 60's.I remember how cool he was with my friends.I had to buy an Aston some day.Got a DB9 last year.He died before I bought it.He would have loved it.
Great Video with the greatest Car ever🎉
DB5 -- one of my favorite screen cars. Ranks up there in my childhood with Batmobile 1966, Batmobile 1989, KITT/Knight 2000, and the General Lee.
Definitely the Bond car and probably the most famous British-built car in screen history.
Another brilliant bit of film....👍
Never seen Henry smile more since he was in the singer....like a kid on Xmas day

Great review - snazzy driving as well 👍🏼
2:56 Man, that BMW M3 E46 engine sounds glorious! 😍😍
awesome! what a sound! :D
Since age eight in '64 seeing Goldfinger with my parents I've been enamored of _this_ car. My younger brother, my parents and I saw the movie car at the World's Fair in NYC. A spokemodel in a red dress extolled the virtues of James Bond's Aston Martin DB5. My father filmed approximately thirty seconds of that portion of our day at the fair.
Nice video and beautiful car 😊👍
That look on your face? That's what we in the States call an SEG! I had one just watching. Many, many thanks,
Cool episode It a pity that Aston Martin doesn’t build the stunt cars for the public it sounds so good 👍
I was about to comment about how upset I was it that the video wasn’t about the stunt car with the M3 engine in it, but then I watched the full thing and I am now fully satisfied 😁
It's a dream car for every bond fan!!!
I have never seen Henry this happy
That DB5 still could never be beat for my #1 favorite Bond car of All-time. Aston Martins have always been extremely well made. While in reality, it usually wasn't as fast accelerating as a Corvette, or the best of Porsches and Jaguars, it would make up for it will extra-fine quality and superior fit & finish. There have been few acceleration tests where the DB5s reached their potential with 0-60 mph in under 6 seconds. But there were also a lot of tests where they weren't much of sprinters and took the mid-8second range to do 0-60, probably because the wheels spun excessively costing them at least 2 full seconds. Well perhaps that could be fixed with a right set of tires. My dad has now collected his first Aston Martin, a 2007 Vantage V8 with a manual transmission. He says it's even more well made than a Mercedes Benz. I got a chance to drive it once and I can agree with him.
@HenryCatchpole with fabulous as always the go to guy.
Lovely, I want one of those stuntcars. Though the DB4 is better looking imo
The look on your face at 3:07 is exactly how my face would look if I had the chance to ride in the DB5 like that!
Excellent
BRILLIANT
That sound amazing.
Loved the very last scene, because we all would if we were sitting there 😉
Wow so exciting
Just stunning ! ...
What a gorgeous car.
Listen to that Aston Martin purr!
The inline 6 sound is amaaazing
BMW Power
The captions at 3:06 are spot on.
just great
Jaw Dropping! What on Earth!
Damn! Def my dream car ❤
