- How to Get a Gold Chocobo via Breeding and Racing
What you’ll need:
3x Carob Nuts (Stolen from Vlakorados on the remote part of the Northern Continent)
1x Zeio Nut (Stolen/Drop from Goblin, on Goblin Island)
63x Sylkis Greens (Bought from the Chocobo Sage for 315,000 gil total)
Chocobo Lure Materia (Acquired the first time you go to the Chocobo Ranch
*Catch 2 Great Chocobo of opposite genders at the Mideel Chocobo Tracks (They will be between 2 Spirals). Save before any breeding because some resetting might be needed.
*Feed them 9 Sylkis Greens each, then win a total of 4 Chocobo Races with both Chocobos. Make sure to win at least 10 battles before the next step. /save/
*Breed them twice (winning 10 battles in between) using a Carob nut, and make sure you get a Blue and Green Chocobo of the opposite gender. Feed them 9 Sylkis Green each, then win a total of 9 races with both. /save/
*Since we now have to fight 18 battles, we’ll try to go catch our last Chocobo since it’s a rare encounter. Go to the Chocobo tracks west of the Icicle Inn and find a Wonderful Chocobo alongside a bunny. Make sure to fight your 18 battles if you’re lucky! /save/
*Breed your Blue Chocobo and your Green Chocobo using a Carob nut. This will give you a Black Chocobo. Reset until you get one of the opposite genders of your Wonderful Chocobo. Feed each of them 9 Sylkis Greens, win a total of 12 Chocobo Races between them both, and fight 18 more battles. /save/
*Breed your Wonderful Chocobo and your Black Chocobo, picking the Black Chocobo first and using your Zeio nut.
*Ta-Daaah!

Omfg. So annoying and unnecessarily hard to find a comprehensive and good guide on this and at last. You guys provide. Ty so much!
You can use W-item to make more greens, so you only really need to buy 2. It takes a bit of time, but it works.

It really doesn't take 12 races and 18 races to breed each chocobo, it takes around 4 races and at least 3 to 6 or more battles, remember that!
This is ... a decent guide.
If you would like, I could leave some cunstructive critism if you would like.
Hello, thanks! Although this is an older and more like a test/learning video, I do love constructive feedback conversations, feel free to contact me at endyearth@gmail.com.
SAVE SAVE OH AND SAVE :P
That last pair of Wonderful and Black has to do 6 races each?
would it mess it up if i saved doin in between 18 battles?
So how do you get the chocobo on the ship? It just runs away?
So first, make sure you have an available stable at the Chocobo Ranch. When dismounting, you should be able to have it being sent there 😊
2:49 sorry but your wrong the item drop is extremely low u can play for hrs and never find a Zeno nut
This does not work
Also I have to be honest the final part of the guide is very misleading you need up to 30 or more of those greens to max out you chocobo and even so your probably lose the races without the golden ones
I need help... i'm currently at the stage where i'm trying to breed a blue and a green chocobo of opposite genders... i've got my Blue female one my problem is every green chocobo i breed is also a female one, I cannot get a green male no matter how many times I reset it and retry it, i'm almost ready to give up on this whole thing... can someone tell me what i'm doing wrong???
I know it's a super late reply but I fixed my RNG by doing this: Walk in the Chocobo stables out to the grassy area and into the stables again before breeding.
I just made a male and female blue so when I got a green female I was good.
