Hello, I saw you had Nissen Funplication surgery. Can you make a video about your recovery and have do you feel now after that much time?
The riser pucks are a good way to find just the right height before I make a custom bed frame to modify my sleep time.
This guy is a nerd but I like him
It could be a hiatal hernia for some. Chiropractors have massages but they might need an ultrasound to confirm
Does anyone think this could possibly help with osteoarthritis in the mid and lower back? I’ve been stuck sleeping in a recliner chair for 5 years now.
Can you link those plastic elevators?
I HAVENT WATCHED ALL OF YOUR VIDEO YET BUT I HAVE A FLEXIBLE QUEEN SIZE MATTRESS ON THE FLOOR SO I HAVE NO BASE AS YET. I HAD BEEN SLEEPING IN A RECLINER CHAIR BUT ITS NOT COMFY ENOUGH. SO I MOVED INTO MY BEDROOM AND IM SLEEPING ON MY QUEEN MATTRESS. ONLY PROBLEM IS I KEEP SLIPPING FLAT DOWN AND I CANT DO THIS BECAUSE I HAVE A SHRINKING ESOPHAGUS. SO I NEED TO BE PROPPED UP WHEN I SLEEP. I DONT WANT TO GO TO THE EXPENSE OF HAVING TO BUY A SIT UP BED. THEY CAN COST WELL OVER 1000 DOLLARS. SO FOR THE TIME BEING I EITHER HAVE TO USE A SIT UP PILLOW, WEDGE PILLOW OR GET MY MATTRESS AT THE HEAD PART HIGHER UP. I DID PUT 15 LITRE PLASTIC BOTTLES UNDER THE HEAD PART OF THE MATTRESS BUT ITS NOT THAT GOOD. AND BESIDES I WANT MY MATTRESS AT THE HEAD PART UP HIGHER THAN THAT. ITS NO USE IF THE MATTRESS IS LIKE A SLIPPERY DIP SHAPE. ITS ONLY THE HEAD PART I WANT ELEVATED WHILE ALL THE REST OF THE MATTRESS STAYS FLAT DOWN. MY MATTRESS IS VERY FLEXIBLE. NOW IM THINKING OF A PLASTIC WEDGE WHICH I COULD PUT UNDER THE MATTRESS HEAD THAT WOULD BE SHAPED LIKE A VERY TALL WEDGE PILLOW BUT IT WOULD HAVE TO BE QUITE WIDE AND FIRM TO HOLD UP MY MATTRESS IN SUCH A POSITION I DESIRE IT BUT I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT SOMETHING LIKE THIS WOULD BE CALLED AND EVEN IF A PERSON COULD FIND SOMETHING LIKE THIS. IT COULD BE WOOD OR A HARD PLASTIC OR EVEN METAL. THIS IS JUST AN IDEA I HAVE THOUGHT OF TO PUT UNDER MY MATTRESS.
Do you have to still sleep inclined despite getting Nissen ?
Thank you for sharing these important tips, I tried elevating the bed10 cm but it didn't work for me.
My back hurts in the morning when I elevate the upper part of my body and sleep on the sides.
What solution after back hurts in the morning ?

Did this get rid of your night time reflux? Wanted to see if anything changed over time or did you try anything new for might time reflux?
How is now after fundoplication
Very important!
I got my night heartburn resolved by 80% by taking Melatonin bills, 6mg once before bed by 4 hours.
Not necessarily to take it every night.
Hello how can I contact you brother
Having similar issue need some suggestions
@rajatsingh8588 I am not a doctor, I just shared my experience.
Moreover, when I controlled my Colon, the situation improved further.
Give me some tips please
You had the surgery and you are still experiencing acid reflux? Are you still sleeping on and incline? I was hoping that after the surgery i could sleep like a normal person again 😢
I have normal bed. I have made a 10cm high angle wedge with wood. And put under my bed.
It helps but i slip down during the night and have reflux, wake me up. Then i go up again on the ramp.
Is there any other solution to sleep without slipping down.
From my experiments:
For quick relief : I don't take pills anymore. I adjust with quick neutralising the acid with small tea spoon of bi curb soda mixed in water.
To have less or almost no reflux after eating : do not drink liquid/water after eating meals. Water weakens the acid, it takes longer for food to break down and pass from stomach to instenstines. That's y you get reflux after food.
To make foods (such meat, bbqs etc) digest quicker and avoid reflux of acid: drink 1 tea spoon apple cider vinegar mixed with very small amount of water. YES MORE ACID HELPS TOO. it is logical answer.
Alternatively walk around, do not sit or lay down.
What i understood from all internet search and experience. It is not the amount of acid that is the problem reflux. It is the speed of digestion that is causing the reflux after food.
The quicker a food digests, the less reflux you get.
It's best to drink water on empty stomach. Never drink on full stomach.
The longer food stuck in stomach (and on top you take those doctors pills which reduces acid for digestion) the more slow digestion will occur. Hence you feel burning untill food go down.
And you drink water later on. It will further distrubs the proccess.
You can only manage the reflux. It's only best way to deal with it.
Thank you so much, this comments really helpful, did u have like hard breathing sensation or wake up at night cause like choking or hard to breath? I've been suffering with LPR and it worse at night😕 i'm tired of PPI pills it doesn't work😓 how long you had LPR till you fully healed?
@@shintalynnoctavia8856 im not healed. but i get better whenever i go back to proper diet and manage the acid flow. it is permanent thing. I get those symptoms when i stop managing and eat too much on parties. i have pills handy for worst case. but never use it. I like the bicarb soda. i found, it is also good to mix bicarb soda into foods while cooking. it help cook food faster and foods get digested quickly because soda softens or breakdown foods. remember it is also constipation that also interferes. . basically just eat healthy or easy to digest foods and never skip meals, and try not to eat more than the stomach like me. avoid carbonated drinks such as coca cola, dew, fanta , energy drinks, try avoiding coffee or dont take everyday.
i also found a better trick for bed. So i cut 100mmx100mm wood posts, and i put under 2 feets on under the bad to lift it abit. i found this very convenient. so i put another 2 blocks , i no long require the wedge even pillow, i luv it also for watching netflix.
I found , sleeping on right hand side will give you less stomach burning due to lower valve is also on right side.
about my diets: I used to do food prep with spinach before but im single and feel lazy cooking and i hv bad habit of eating more when i see tasty foods. So
I found making smoothies and milkshakes way more convenient and quick to make. i bought a mixer and buy different fruits and mix nuts, to make my favourite drinks, I drink as much i can haha. no gerd problem, no over weight, smooth and quick to digest. thats how i find my way to adjust with this.
I have a wedge pillow and it’s killing my hips!
My hips have been really hurting since I used a wedge !
Have you tried placing a pillow beneath the hips & knees?
Try putting a pillow behind your knees/legs to relieve pressure of your back.
I had manometry yesterday and my lpr improved immensely the next day,I am now getting the fire of lpr on a night what should I do to get rid while I sleep?I do have hiatial hernia
How you doing now? Do you think your LPR improved after the mamometry?
@@viviee33 it did for a day,weird
@@michaelknight2721 are you better now?
I had to sit almost completely upright. 😫
You already have a surgery. How are you?
I have LPR,would I be wise sleeping inclined,I do notice though that when I lie that my hiatial hernia symptoms disapear
Same i also have hiatal hernia and lpr
Should I get surgery?
@@michaelknight2721 i don't know the problem is there's no guarantee that the problem goes away. And surgery can't get undone
@@RandomPerson-yc4vm r u fine now
@@michaelknight2721You definitely need to sleep inclined with LPR it's more pressing than GERD because reflux is going all the way up above the UES.
If meds & strong lifestyle changes don't bring much improvement, surgery will help but the long term success of it isn't the best you usually need to get a top up every 10 years or so (for Fundoplication) because it can get undone and the symptoms will all return. There are also a decent amount of people who say they've suffered complications and/or haven't improved much 😕
I sleep on a recliner chair and still getting burning sensations, very worried
Do you still have it?
@@oluwaseyiomotayo785 its still here but its not as heavy as it used to be. the burning is now and happens a few times a week opposed to being daily before. Changed my lifestyle diet choices and eat healthy i feel it healing. Took about 8-9 months to see healing after eating right
@@oluwaseyiomotayo785I've had it almost 5 years now
I have gerd, every time after I eat I always feel nauseous and vomit
Dont drink water or any liquid during and after meal.
Drink after you feel that the food has passed down from stomach.
Don't take doc prescribed pills. They actually makes the digestion even worse.
He said sleep on my left side turned over and my heart burn stopped right then
how can I avoid the feeling that I'm always going to vomit?
Stop drinking while you eat don't drink after 2 hours you eat and 30 minutes before
Get tested for H. Pylori bacteria
Do you have GERD or LPR?
My first move is the obvious but often overlooked .. eat breakfast .. last meal of the day early afternoon
The best remedy is to take some honey before going to bed.
Did you get your Nissen Fundiplication reversed!??
Not good on ones stomach that bed
