  • Learn how to hand-burn personalized text, logos, and designs onto your wood projects. It can be cheap and simple, but requires some patience. Also, the transfer paper I used for my stencil is actually "Graphite" paper, just to be clear. Let me know if you have any questions. Thanks for watching!

    Thanks for the sharing your work with us! It's great. A quick question for you, what type of wood is ideal for wood burning projects? Thanks!

    Nice logo! 😁 I'm always happy to see others burning. I have some burning techniques tips if your interested. 2 quick ones 😉 1. If your prop up the piece your working on to 45+ degrees, you shouldn't need to wear a glove. The heat rises straight up at this angle, not over your fingers. I very rarely ever have to wear a glove burning this way. 2. I wouldn't suggest using a wire brush to clean tips. The wire brush can damage your tips. Try using an exacto knife to scrape off the carbon & a leather strop to polish your tips up. 😃 I have the colwood super pro 2 (amongst a few more 😉) and I'm very happy with it over all.

    Hahaha loved the video man! You do a good job of not editing out the stuff that didn't go exactly as planned, keep it up man! Love my Colwood SuperPro II as well. Just ordered a few new tips actually!

      Got Wood Workshop it's a pleasure to use. So so nice. Are you using fixed-tips or the interchangeable ones?

    • @Gotwoodworkshop
      @Gotwoodworkshop 8 лет назад

      Both, but I just reordered the interchangeable ones because I snapped a
      few of the tips off on fixed tip ones. Figured if it's going to happen
      anyways I might as well buy the cheaper ones haha

    Great video. I may have missed it, but do you use anything in the way of ventilation? I know that soldering needs it, how about this?

      Adam Brcic thanks man. I should have mention i usually have a fan blowing lightly on the workpiece from the side. It prevents the smoke from burning your eyes after a long session. If windows open are an option, i take that too.

    • @DrawingWithFire
      @DrawingWithFire 7 лет назад

      Mad Raven Woodworks You really shouldn't have the fan blowing across your work while burning. The air lowers the heat of your tip, causing it to fluctuate more. Easy solution... flip the fan around so that it is drawing the smoke away from your piece. 😉

      Patrick Walsh it's the second best way to transfer small images to wood. The fastest way is printer ink transfer, but that would require a whole long tutorial by itself so i didn't do it.
