Just watched this video today (4/9/2019) Never thought of doing the embroidery first on the 1 full piece of fabric, stitch, THEN cut out. I would have marked the grid lines to line up after cutting out the bib pieces, then do the embroidery. I have sewn a couple of bibs in the past (over 20 years ago) and have actually made my seem line, cut out, THEN I would have put the embroidery on, then stitched the two pieces together...Makes SOO much sense the way you are doing it. Reflecting, and thinking about other things that I have sewn over the years...this can be done/ use this same technique: sew first then cut around the sewn object pieces. You wouldn't believe how, at times, my two pieces didn't line up exactly, and things were slightly off (self taught sewing, and back then no RUclips, and didn't live close to the library. My teachings of self taught was actually taking apart a lot of different items and restitching back together to see how pieces look before and after, and learned how to manage to make things go together to be stitched. Thanks Eve!! As always I am learning soo much from you!!
Game changer, right?! When I realized how hard i was working lining everything up, I was like... "there HAS to be a better way!"
great tips
Oh for goodness sake - I’ve been doing this the hard way! Lol! Thank you for this video! I gotta run downstairs right now and try this method! 😂❤️🤗

well eve I wanted to do a embroidery designs on the cloth side of my baby bib I did three samples one came out so good and the others not so good the machine jammed up on me but the good thing is we always learn something.I'll try again tomorrow am so bless to have you . thanks for all your help. your a good teacher .
This is a great video. Thanks for sharing with us. Just don't understand why someone would give it a thumbs down. Your method is very simple with the patterns. I have a brand new granddaughter and plenty of fabric to make bibs and burp cloths.
Thanks for the tip of seeing the bib 1st before cutting it. I’m currently embroidering my 1st bib & was going to cut then sew, but I LOVEEEE this concept. Seems so much simpler.
It is SO MUCH simpler! That's why I had to share!
great tip!
Thank you very much! I appreciate the feedback
Thank you so much, awesome...
I love this. I’m pretty OCD when it comes to sewing. I don’t embroidery but I do heat transfer vinyl and I’ve learned that I cut my fabric both side together (right sides together) so the pieces match exactly. I have cut our my baby bibs just as you do. It just makes it so much simpler and you have a much cleaner stitch line. It’s good to know I’m not the only one who does this.
And it gives a consistent look to your product line! 💪🏾 Thank you very much for your comment and for watching our video. 👍🏾
Thank you for the great idea
+sharon blake You're welcome. I hope you are able to find it useful in your studio. ☺
I would order it from you and you can tell me the price. Thanks. I have two beautiful Grand daughters. one 18 months and one 4 months.
I just wanted to tell you I found yesterday 8/8/17 at my Dollar Tree the flexible Set of 2 Chopping Mats because you showed the picture. I bought four, thinking of future pattern hard copies. Thank you so much I will be keeping this method. I had already started going to Staples to have them encased in flexible plastic. This is very comparable to what they do and I could cut it there for free, lol but I haven't yet. Thank you so much! I want to send you pics of my hooded towels.
+Vanessa McCorker Wooot! I am happy you found them!! Making the patterns isn't hard, and they will last for YEARS! 👍🏽
So smart...working smarter not harder
Yaaaas! That's how grandpa taught me! ❤
I just saw the snap . Love your video's 😊
Thank you! 🤗
thank you
You are very welcome! I appreciate your kindness. 🤗
Such good tips! Love it! I definitely subscribed. I made some bibs about a week ago and cutting AFTER sewing them together is just genius!!!!
BTW, your eyes are beautiful!
Donna Demko Thanks! I'm glad you enjoyed the tip! It really did make more sense to cut it out afterwards. 😄 I appreciate your comment! 😁
Thank you for the compliment! 😊 😚
Thank you so much. I'm making some for the baby House near me. So much easier. Clever Lady. :-)
Since I have a bro se400 as well, I can't do the consistent in the hoop patterns. This tip makes all the difference in the quality of the product!
Hi Ms Sandra! Thank you for watching and leaving a comment. I am a stickler for consistency, and I figured others out there would benefit as well. I am glad that this was a great tip for you!
AMAZING
Thank you! Hope it helps!
You are absolutely a great teacher! Even I that have never sew anything understood the instructions, and you make seem so easy that I am going to try to hand sew one. ( I do not have a sewing machine).
I would like to ask you to list the name of the front and back fabrics, and the stabilizer and "backing"?
Thank you very much for sharing all your knowledge with us.
fantastic tips This will help me a lot.
So simple
It really is!!! Thanks for your comment!
Thanks for this tip! It’s made things a LOT easier. How do you line it up with a dark fabric though
your videos are so easy to follow. thank you. do you have a video on how to put the snap on the bib.
I do not, however I will put that on the "To Do" list!! Thank you for watching our videos and for leaving a comment!
love it and looking at all your videos....good idea not to cut the bib until after therefore you have a template to stitch around
Thanks Rhonda for watching our videos! 😃 I am all about making life easier!
EvE great video
Thank you! 😊 I appreciate your comment!
Hi Eve was checking your online store to see if you have posted your bib patterns for sale yet, I'm anxious to try one for my neighbors new great-granddeaughter coming in November. I know you are soooo busy hope you can get them I would sure purchase them :)
+Evelyn H I will work on that this week.
I love the idea of having the cutting board templates! Plus the tips on positioning is AWESOME! Thanks for sharing! Great video!
+Kandia Haynesworth Thank you kindly! Anything that helps me is worth passing along to someone else. ☺
The Baby's Booty where did you get the patterns for the bibs?
Dee-Dee clayton it's a combo of several bib patterns I've found online and existing bibs.
Besides terry cloth, what is the top material you use for your bibs? Thank you for your help.
+Carol Coleman I use flannel for the top part of my bibs!
Genius as always!!! Two questions what do you use to close the bib around the baby’s neck? Can we download tour bib patterns??
Love your videos. What material do you use for the baby blankets. I know on the backside is minky. What is the main material?
Thanks so much for taking the time to do your video.
Thanks for the question and for tuning in! The material I use on the front of the blankets is a basic white fleece. I find that it allows the embroidered design to POP. Fabrics that are 'busy' tend to overpower the embroidery.
Great tip! I’m going to use this! Thanks for sharing! Where do you get your terry cloth from?
Hi loved the video ,are you using a snap or Velcro. If you're doing a snap will you make a video for it please . Thanks 😊
Loved your video very helpful. Where did you get the chime that you put in the owl?
Hello eve you make this look very easy x I love your bibs what material do us use on the top they are beautiful great ideas sewing it before cutting , brilliant !!!
Flannel 🤗
thanks thought so bought some xxxx
I love how easy this is to make!! What do you use for closures on the bibs?
Metal Snaps from snapsource.com. Thank you for watching our video!
Did you use a regular presser foot on your machine while stitching the baby bib? I love watching you, you do wonderful projects! Thank you!
I watched many of your videos today. They are so good thank you. You talked about using "witch stitchery " to close a bib. When you go in to sew over that does it gum up your needle? Also the cutting mats that you use for your patterns do you cut them with a knife or a pair of scissors out to make the pattern? dsw
+Deborah Woods Yay! Thank you for watching our videos! The hem tape I use (from the dollar section in Wal-Mart) does NOT gum up my needles at all. ☺ I shape the cutting mats with scissors. I would suggest a good pair of scissors to make the job as effortless as possible. 👍🏽
