  • Patriot Ordnance Factory is proud to present: The Revolution.
    Patriot Ordnance Factory (POF-USA) is proud to announce the Revolution is now shipping!
    The Revolution continues the POF tradition of Relentless Reliability and American innovation.
    The Revolution is POF-USA’s new .308 battle rifle that handles like a 5.56 - because it’s the same size and weight as one. The Revolution actually uses many 5.56 AR parts, which allow for a shorter overall receiver size and reduced weight. The Revolution receiver size, from pin to pin, shares the same dimensions as an AR-15.
    This is NOT a small frame .308, it’s smaller! The Revolution features many 5.56 parts; such as charging handle, bolt carrier, roller cam pin, buffer, heat-sink barrel nut, handguard, and 5-position gas piston operating system. The barrel extension, bolt assembly, upper, and lower receiver are the exact same size as those on an AR15.
    This is truly an AR15 that shoots in .308!
    Weighing in at 7.3 lbs. the Revolution features POF-USA’s new slim Edge handguard with four built-in QD mounts. It’s loaded with features such as a fully ambidextrous billet receiver set, NP3 coated bolt carrier group, 5-position adjustable gas piston, single stage match grade trigger, and more. You may have just found your “one gun.”
    Patriot Ordnance Factory - Revolution .308 Rifle

Furthermore, the poster (mans911) indicated he is a dealer with strong experience with multiple platforms. Maybe your background is deeper? or broader? or both? Mine might not be, and I’ve been collecting (scores and scores) of firearms for 40+ years now. It never ceases to amaze me just how quickly some keyboard warriors are willing to expose their ignorance and downright mean-spiritedness, just to “sound cool” (to somebody with an equally-adolescent brain). 🙄

      I had been wanting to pick up a POF Revolution DI since their release. I Finally put my other projects rifles
      aside & made acquiring one a priority during mid-Spring 2020. While I decided this many months before, I finally went ahead & “pulled the trigger, on one 1-2 weeks AFTER Frank’s Untimely Passing had acquired a POF burnt bronze Revolution DI. Initially it had some hiccups out of the box& the Hornady 168Grain BTHP’s I’d be picked up by the bolt as it headed into battery, then abruptly get JAMMED Head First into the feed ramps. This occurred repeatedly about 5-6times+ per 20 .308 Magazine. I contacted POF, Sent it in, & they stated they couldn’t replicate the Issues I was having, after 80rounds plus of test firing, whatever they did worked, bc my first range trip involved sending 80-100 rounds of M118LR Match 175gr HPBT Clone ammo from IMI(Razor Core) down range without a single issue. This was the polar opposite of my first experience behind the gun as I zeroed both my primary and secondary optics and this trip it ran 100% flawlessly. So guessing whatever I was unlucky enough to hand an issue with it was quickly resolved snd left me able to continue to fall for such a sexy, lw& accurate DMR platform that is a future suppressor host, of a DeadAir sandman S.

    Hey Frank, it was a pleasure meeting you in Atlanta at the Annual NRA meetings and exhibits. Your Revolution rifle is truly an impressive feat of engineering. I walked the show floor and handled virtually every variety of .308 AR platforms on display. I kept coming back to yours as it was the only one that consistently made me think I was holding a standard AR-15 due to it's size and weight. More than once I had to double check by looking at the mag well that I was really holding something chambered in .308 as it even felt light weight compared to some other AR-15s. Figuring out which .308 AR style rifle I am going to purchase was a key objective for my visit to Atlanta and you've certainly won my business.

      Since it's a piston design, the diameter of the bolt doesn't matter as much, all of the force is concentrated between the bolt face and the locking lugs, the shaft of the bolt (that rides in the carrier) is doing little more than assuring rotation and alignment. Design wise, this would be almost identical, conceptually anyways, to the .458 socom bolt. Are those known for breaking bolts? I don't actually know, if so, I think you may be onto something.

    I just purchased a brand new POF Revolution in .308, brought it home and fired two rounds with similar results. One round fired, the next round stuck in the chamber. I had to mortar the rifle to extract the stuck rounds. My $800 Palmetto State Armory runs great right out of the box, my $2,600 POF, not so much. I am calling the Tech Center tomorrow. Using PMC brass cased 150 grain new manufactured ammo.

    I don't know about other POF rifles but about 6 months ago I bought a POF P308 and have been having reliability issues with it since. I have sent it back to the factory twice, the first time the gas adjustment came off at the range and the parts flew out on the range floor, the rep at the factory stated that I or "someone" had tampered with it, (blame the customer policy) when I only adjusted it according to the manual. they repaired the gas system, sent it back and now I have been having unresolved ejection issues with many stovepipes that even professional gunsmiths can't figure out. The second time I sent it back they put an O-ring on the extractor spring and "said" they ran different ammo through it and it cycled. Obviously they didn't watch the ejection of the ammo or they would have noticed that most of the spent cases were not even turning back and hitting the deflector but when the bolt feeds a new round from the mag, the spent case is is being pushed out by hitting the front of the ejection port. There's scarring on the front of the port. Seems like they don't like problems with their firearms and get annoyed at customers who experience problems, and don't do real research into a customers problematic rifle. Also they want you to pay shipping to them which is more money wasted.
    this has been one rifle I have had big regrets wasting $2000+ on including test ammo and time. I know I will NEVER buy another POF rifle of any kind, it would be the same as if I set fire to $2000 of cash.

    Hm, I'm slightly concerned about the barrel extension being the same size and thickness as an AR-15 barrel extension. Possible wear and tear issue there?

    Is it possible to swap barrels to shoot different calibers in the Revolution? As long as they use the same brass. So 6mm Credmore and 6.5 Creedmore in the same gun.

    What is diameter of the bolt face? Is the bolt similar to ones used for 7.62x39 AR 15's or is it some how beefed up?

    so would it be possible to put the bcg, buffer, and barrel in any ar-15 upper? is there something special about this upper that allows it to shoot 308 that other ar-15 uppers don't have?

    Olympic arms from Olympia Washington did something extremely similar first. 2016 they released the AR 15 PP3 .308, of which 37 were made. It was a short run before they shut down production.. they now only assemble the last of their parts they have on hand. My curiosity lies in that barrel, I'm not able to find how to buy one on your website, I'd like to have a spare and I wanted to compare my measurements to yours but can't.

      @Josh Bruns Yes. It comes with a 9 position gas block & I've shot it at all 9 positions. Good news is I've become rather good at clearing jams lol It seems the more I shoot, the less it jams but it still jams consistently when shooting .308
      I need to take it to a gunsmith.

      @@TragedysHalo I’ve heard mixed reviews on POF’s customer service but you may wanna try contacting them and see if it’s an issue they’ve come across before. They’re probably just going to tell you to send it to them on your dime tho. Best of luck bud.

    Why are barrel extensions a thing, why cant it just be part of the barrel (one piece barrel and barrel extension)?

    • @beachboardfan9544
      @beachboardfan9544 7 лет назад

      Interesting, so the colt has an integrated barrel extension?
      I'm trying to figure out why you would ever want a non-integrated barrel-barrel extension, like whats the pros and cons, even just the purpose there is to having a separate extension. I'm trying to think of why it would be necessary and all I keep thinking is that the threaded seam between the barrel and extension has to be a motherf*cker to keep crap from building up and effecting the bolt face interfacing properly.

    • @truebornsonofliberty554
      @truebornsonofliberty554 7 лет назад

      TheCause actually, it is a separate piece. I've been around these rifles for 20 years and just found out myself. There was a q and a on brownells with Faxon barrels. The extension is a separate piece. They explain why they nitride them separately (barrel and extension) and how they use silver stainless pins to prove they were nitrided separately.

      Tian Huang the video shows our Revolution is an AR15 Engineered to shoot .308 ammo. The P308 is the same size of AR10 which the receiver set is 1 1/2” larger than the AR15 / M16 receiver set?

    mag conversion for 5.56?

    • @RamiroUM
      @RamiroUM 7 лет назад

      could the 308 (7.62 mm diameter x 51 mm length) fit in the standard mag designed for the 223 (5.56 mm diameter x 45 mm length) ? I do not think so, it's a much larger ammo. That's why the had to build a larger mag well in the POF Rev in order to accommodate the 308 mag.

    Start making handguns please. You'd make a fortune....Sig Sauer is a s*** bag company now and there is a need for another top tier handgun manufacturer, since Sig no longer meets those requirements......My POF Renegade Plus is the best firearm in my collection, hands down. I purchased a Sig P226 Legion SAO last week and the coating is wearing off of it like it's spray paint. Sig doesn't want to fix it and and apparently, they can't fix it. I offered to pay for a refinish and they said they could only do the slide in the original finish. How embarrassing is that? LOL! When I spend that kind of money on a handgun, I want it to be top quality. I think POF could absolutely accomplish that and more....
    Seriously, make a damn handgun, I'd buy it the day it is released. I'm sure I'm not the only one either......
