- Today's video is all about a realistic wardrobe declutter and seasonal changeover (for want of a better title!)
I recently filmed a video talking about what I was packing for our trip to Europe. You seemed to enjoy it, and I quite enjoyed filming it. So, I thought I would continue with the wardrobe theme and share with you as I attempt to bring some kind of order back to my closet.

Hi Cherie, I did a declutter a few years ago. I was collapsing every morning in front of the wardrobe before going to the office. For me it is being very helpful, appart from the known Kondo or minimalist "rules", to have a spreadsheet. I also did this with make up (eyeshadow palette issue here). In this list I have the items I have / want to have (black blazer, white shirt, extra dress for summer, etc) and the number of items, classified by types (jackets, tops, bottoms, dresses, shoes, accesoires). And then you come to a number of total items. Everyone is different but I do not tend ot overspend in sport items, underwear or clothes to stay at home. I included what I used to go to work, that what was bothering me was to have way too many tops, "hard to combine" pieces and not enough basics. It has been a long way but worth it. With make up I am still struggling because I love to see youtube videos about it... still on my way... 😛
You know I love a spreadsheet ;) maybe I should do this! I think it would really help me. Did you use it as a tracker to track how much you utilised things in your wardrobe?
@@TheTopNote I didn't but feel free, looks like a good idea!. I had a feeling of which things I was going to use more. I had a lot of things I liked but the colours were off on me... (light olive skin with cool undertone trying hard to wear very saturated warm tops) and I had a lot of things like that so I guess I did not need a tracker or I was too lazy 😅
I came to 130 items and I started my way down... I am now at 42 I think. For me it was important to put a number as a limit. That made it easier for me. I hope you find a method that works for you 🙂

This is a nice honest video Cherie about the need to de-clutter. I really need to do something similar. I am at the stage where I am hanging new clothes on the door of my walk-in wardrobe as I have no space in the actual wardrobe. I have to work my way up to doing it as it will take a while and I need to do something similar with makeup and skincare !!!!!!!!!!!!!
I went through my bathroom a few weeks ago, didnt film it but it took two attempts and I still think I have too much!
@@TheTopNote I hear ya - I have only got one face but have so much skincare and makeup that I will never use, some of it is still in its packaging. I am going to have to tackle it soon and give some away.
