Well this is a great video on the Webster magneto. I want to thank you. Great information. I have been reading the Webster magneto book to. So great information to. Now I would like to let you know about some things about springs. 1 the number of coils on them. How tight thay are or less how less tension on them. 2nd it depends on the wire you are using. You do need spring wire to make them. You are right about The size of the wire and the length of the spring to. But there is a machine that race car engine guys use to tell the tension on a spring. You put a,spring in it and when you compress it it gives you a measurement on how tight or loos it is. So I was thinking that might help you. On your information. Now the only reason I know most of this information is. That I have a good friend who is a friend of the biggest spring maker in the USA. Thay are out of Chicago. Thay make almost all of the springs around. Thay did me a great favor. Thay special mades springs for my Ottawa engine for me. And I was told that thay used the length, spring diameter, thay looked at the tension on it, and how many coils on it to. So thay maide them for me. I got lucky. So I hope that this helps you. On your information on springs. You might have to do some trial and error. To get it done. But I think that you will be good at it. But anyway thanks for the information on the Webster magneto. I'm still working on my Webster. I'm having problems with the trip to get it to spark. But I'll get it figured out.

I got the 15th edition of Machinery's Handbook. I went and got it off the shelf so I could follow along with your lesson. My version has the previous owners name handwritten on the inner page too. George D Washington, Wentworth, Sept 15, 1956. I wrote my name right beneath his went I acquired the book so as to document the chain of custody, Sep 7, 2007. Love it.

Very informative video, springs are very many different types I wish I knew more about them. Like the screen door the further you open it the louder it slams. E = MC 2. Springs have a lot of stored energy but not when at rest, only when wound up. Total velocity. Time and space. What goes up must come down. The speed of light A dollar down and a dollar a week 💵, the fastest 4 minutes is at the car wash. Thanks for the video friend.

Oh yea, I'm just a few rows back from you in Mr Pete's classroom too. By the way, I like the series of books called the "Machinst's Bedside Reader" Guy Lautard. These books precede the youtube era, but sometimes his style reminds me of ShopDogSam. He ain't from around here though, speaks Canadian.
