    You read my mind! Over the weekend, I said to myself, I need to stop being lazy and go back deep conditioning using heat!!! I have a bonnet dryer, conditioning heat cap with the cord and a Hair Therapy Wrap Cordless Thermal Turban Heat Wrap. And I haven't been using them... I need to go back there all are good!!! If you're looking for a mobile heat cap try the Hair Therapy Wrap Cordless Thermal Turban Heat Wrap (they sell it online/ Amazon) it's excellent and your hair is very moisturized afterwards!!! This video was very informative!!!

    Great tips, I love using heat with conditioner using a steamer or hooded dryer. It definitely helps penetrate my hair shaft :)

    Girl ur hair is looking good as usual. I think heat is absolutely essential for conditioning. I have steamer but I need to get conditioning cap and save my electricity bill. Nice one, keep it up

    Thank you for the great tips! Can leaving the conditioner overnight be beneficial?

    • @HealthyAfroHair
      @HealthyAfroHair  10 лет назад +1

      Your welcome! It's not really necessary to leave it in overnight, as the hair benefits most from the conditioning process within about an hour. Anything longer, is over conditioning and it won't make much of a difference to the hair.

    I live in Georgia; It gets so hot I can only use my dryer in the winter. I will try but it wont end well lol... I love how your hair looks. I went natural but I still love your videos.

      Awww...thank you! :) Oh yes, hot climates I forgot about that. I guess you could always just wrap your hair and go out in the sun and condition it that way too?!

    hey hun sorry fr the qurstion build up but googke isnt helping :'( do u think its bad to arr heat to my relaxer to make sure its getting in really deep?? Or is this a recipe fr disastre?

    • @HealthyAfroHair
      @HealthyAfroHair  10 лет назад

      No....don't do that!!! You could end up causing severe damage to your hair. If you want your relaxer to take well, avoid applying any oils to your scalp leading up to your relaxer day. Maybe looking into using a stronger strength. Do you use Lye or No lye? Lye is harsher on the scalp, but processes more quicker than a No Lye relaxer.

      Thank you. Well, I'm actually going to research into some, so at this present moment, I can't yet recommend any. But once I find one, I'll post a video on it.

    Your so pretty! :-) can I ask would you say a weave is a good protected style the black hairdressers I go to are terrible they promote relaxing and weave to all their costumers so I've taken things into my own hands I started my jounery in February and even though I'm not sure on seeing length I'm definitely noticing thickness plus strength but I do want to where my hair in a protective style just not braids as they make me look 12 when I'm 23 lol any suggestions please xx

    Hi. My hair is a very course texture and doesn't take well to relaxer. for example i relaxed my hair 2 weeks ago and already i have regrowth and it looks like i havent relaxed it in 2 months. is it ok to relax every 4 weeks instead? also is there anything you would recommend i use between relaxers to keep the hair a bit more sleek looking without having to straighten.

    • @HealthyAfroHair
      @HealthyAfroHair  10 лет назад

      Which type of relaxer are you currently using; Lye? or No Lye? Regular Strength? or Extra Strength? Applying moisture and sealing with oils helps to smooth the hair, making it look more sleek, or you can try using a hair serum. But make sure use a brush to smooth it all down. You can try doing this before going to bed and ensure you tie it down with a silk satin hair scarf. Then in the morning, do the same again (if you need to) and this should help make a difference.

    What about hair dryers with the hood attachment? What's you opinion on those?

    • @HealthyAfroHair
      @HealthyAfroHair  10 лет назад +1

      Yes, they are good too. Anything that produces even heat distribution is ok to use.

  • @leofrasier6716
    @leofrasier6716 10 лет назад

    heeey hun another quick "?" lol uuum do u think its better to deep condition scalp short hair rather than relaxing it just to prolong the previous relaxer and to help prevent some of my invitable breakage because i regularly sleep with my hair covered but wen i dont my black pillow case looks like a white kitten is sleeping next to my head (due to the fact that my hair is silver blond) and after i wake up i brush my hair and it seems as tho that kitten left his brothers and sisters behind i have lost so much less hair since taking ur advices but i just cant sleep with my hair uncovered or i wake up almost scalped lol so yea wat do u suggest love?

    • @HealthyAfroHair
      @HealthyAfroHair  10 лет назад

      Lol...that's funny! Yes, deep condition weekly to keep the hair healthy & strong, as well as to prolong the relaxing process. But because your hair is short, you shouldn't really be getting that much re-growth. Have often do you relax? But definitely keep your hair covered to prevent the problems you are experiencing. Glad to hear you've noticed some improvement with your hair since taking my advice :)

    Im thinking of getting braids? Would it help with retaining my hair growth?

    • @HealthyAfroHair
      @HealthyAfroHair  10 лет назад

      It can help with retaining longer hair lengths, but your hair will still need some form of care in order to thrive. So avoid wearing them for long periods of time (so you can still continue with a healthy hair care regime), avoid wearing them too tight and keep your hair moisturised at the roots.

    Is a sauna a good heat source? my gym says the sauna temp is 70 to 80 degreess Celsius...is that too hot?

    • @HealthyAfroHair
      @HealthyAfroHair  10 лет назад +2

      Yes, saunas are great, but I wouldn't worry too much about the temperature. Maybe just go in for about 10-15 mins (whatever you can cope with) and that should be enough.

    I need help :'(
    I'm going to Paris with my classmates in a few days and we will stay there 5 days. I don't know what will I do with my hair during the trip, what should i do???

    • @HealthyAfroHair
      @HealthyAfroHair  10 лет назад

      Maybe consider wearing a protective style such as braids, a half wig or a simple ponytail or bun. But it really depends what activities you will be doing whilst your there. Otherwise, keep it simple.

  • @leofrasier6716
    @leofrasier6716 10 лет назад

    YAAAAYY IM FRST GOODMORNING!!! LOL SOOOOO BLOWDRYING IS BETTER WITH DEEP CONDITIONING BUT NOT SO GOOS JUST TO DRY THE HEAD AND SHUD I ALWAYS USE LOW HEAT AND IF SO Y NOT HIGH?

    • @HealthyAfroHair
      @HealthyAfroHair  10 лет назад

      You do make me laugh :) Yes deep conditioning with heat is most effective. But yes when it comes to blow drying the hair, because the heat is in close contact, the lower setting is best.

    • @HealthyAfroHair
      @HealthyAfroHair  10 лет назад

      Awww...thank you! :) Many people wear weaves as protective styles which can be ok, however, they can also cause breakage if they are worn very tight or for very long periods of time, not allowing your own hair to be provided with the care it needs in order to thrive. Maybe you can consider just wearing your own hair in simple buns to change things up a bit. I have a video called; My 3 Simple Protective Hairstyles which you can watch here; @MUk-N2s3hNo I just show a combination of 3 hairstyles I tend to wear often. Also, relaxed hair can be healthy too if the correct hair care methods are applied. My hair is relaxed by the way :)
