I'd get the older one because I am never in the need of the absolute latest and greatest. Although when I watch your videos I do feel like getting the greatest and latest. ;)
BTW. the always on display extra brightness was explicitly said to be for “outside use”, so yeah it definitely has to do with the ambient light sensor. - Also, 2.5x brighter, if measured in absolute brightness which you would imagine, is far from the same as 2.5x perceived brightness, since we perceive brightness logarithmically

The blood oxygen meter is beneficial not just for allergies and asthma, but COVID-19, COPD, heart failure, kidney failure, and much much more. Especially when considering machine learning and background checks, even when you are asleep.
OmaKicks if you have the budget then get s6 but if you are tight on budget then I would say get s5. In s5 you will only miss on blood oxygen level and U1 chip.

I'm pretty sure those models also aren't as bad for the environment, as there will be way less watches for 850+ $ produced and sold. Improving just a bit on the packing of the best selling watches will make a real change, I'm pretty sure.
never had an apple watch. looking to either get the series 6 or SE. Always on display is pretty important to me as well as the slightly faster processor. dont care too much for new health features. SE however saves me about 200 total. What should I do. I
I would say it doesn’t rly matter to upgrade would recommend waiting since it’s just always on display and blood oxygen monitoring. On top of that series 5 and 4 r exact same speed so in terms of power it’s just one new model upgrade. I would say upgrade only if you have the money but bc of the trend of how the S4 was the main redesign, I would say maybe the series 7 will have a huge redesign or have a new circle model in the lineup. Would be exciting if they somehow can include mental health, Touch ID, or glucose monitoring
Depends. If I was at your place, I would upgrade(only if I have the money) just because I love new tech. Whereas if it were my mom who is not really into tech, she would be very happy with what she has. My mom currently owns a Series 4 and is quite happy with it, while I own a S5 and still am going to get the S6 cuz I want the newest features. If you want the latest and greatest, go for it. I asked her if she wants my S5, she said she would wait until a major redesign or a revolutionary feature to come to the apple watch. Sorry if its too long to read, I just wanted to help you.
Richard L yea we could expect the 7 to have a major redesign. But I would probably expect Touch ID on the crown, mental health probably before cuz glucose seems like a harder thing to put into a watch
@@babyyoda9943 I had an stainless series 1 I think.. I remember it for being very heavy compared to aluminium (and the display was not very bright due to the different glass materiel) .. I actually dropped it one day taking it off - and it lost its live as the glass shattered all over.. Perhaps the stainless steels are a tad bigger in size.. I wouldn't opt for stainless again
I had the series 5 stainless and don’t like the sapphire display because of the glare. I noticed in the comparison in your video how much it was reflective. I returned and currently use the series 5 cellular aluminum. No issues and with the ionx display can see just fine.
There will be a issue, when people would like to sell their current watch for the new one, either someone buys a new charger or someone cannot use their apple watch because they cannot charge.
I think the watch should be discounted for the price of the charger and the cord. What if you need a new one? What if you want to sell your watch? Its a good selling point to have all the accessories and the box. I think it was a bad move on Apples part. I was thinking about getting a new phone this year. Do you think they’re going to screw us out of a new phone charging brick and cord as well?

It's not supposed to be brighter when under in door lighting conditions.. really not sure why 99% of these articles are getting this wrong. It is significantly brighter when outdoors
Purchased the s6 awaiting... upgraded from s2 but waited this long just for the oxygen meter. Even though it isn’t a medical device, it will help to check regularly for my health issues!
Those sensors are not worth 200 dollars especially they are not for medical use. In another word it’s for fun. The only real difference is the chip. I probably will get a SE.
Does this have the capability of uploading any maps?.... can I make my own maps, can I upload transparent trails or contours maps to overlay on other maps like my Fenix and navigate mountain trails etc without a phone? Or is it still very basic? Thanks for the review as always : -) 👍
It’s crazy that some key features, after so many years, are still available in the US only. Here in Europe (Belgium) we still don’t have a cellular edition while we have the technology (like E-Sim) available in our country to support 4G on Apple Watches.
The extra brightness does not apply to the general brightness or the always on mode. It only applies to the always on mode in brightly lit rooms or when outdoors. The brightness on the always on screen is only increased when the ambient light sensor detects bright light. To see a noticeable difference, take your watch out on a sunny day and look at the screen when in standby mode.

Regarding the packaging, they are not just cutting costs they are also using much less plastic which in turn is something we should all care about. Personally, I care more about what's inside than what surrounds what I am actually buying.
5:02 The series 6 product Red watch definitely looks like it has inky, darker blacks in this particular shot. The series 5 in this shot almost looks backlit. You can see some light bleed whereas like I said, the newer watch definitely has darker blacks from what I can see in this particular shot. BTW, I really like that particular watch face. That’s one of the ones that I use on my series seven 45 mm green

I currently have the Apple Watch 4, i’ve had it since it came out 2 years ago. The battery life is terrible. I am moving forward with Fitbit when my watch gives out. I only need it for exercising.

Hi, this would be my first time buying an Apple Watch. But I can’t decide between the space grey Nike series 6 GPS aluminium or the series 5 GPS + cellular silver stainless steel (which is discounted but still £130 more than the series 6). Im mainly buying an Apple Watch for fitness/health reasons ( I go gym 5times a week, walk often and plan on going on runs). I don’t really plan on using the cellular as my current network provider doesn’t support the Apple Watch so I would have to change network. Any advice on which I should get please?

If your Watch Series 5 is a steel Watch, the screen is sapphire. Therefore it is darker... It may explain why the difference isn’t that big. Why don’t you check 2 Watch in alloy instead. When you compare, you ought to take the same model and 2 iterations
They don’t include a power block because you should have one for your phone if you are buying a Apple Watch as you can’t use the watch without the phone
In my opinion, even the color is not a great thing to get the series 6. You can buy a couple of dollars case and get the look. Maybe if this will be your first Apple Watch or you have a generation 3 or 4... but, the change from the 5 series, I don’t think is a great idea.
Remember when comparing brightness with these two watches that in general the aluminium 6s ion x glass will display brighter than the stainless steel 5s sapphire crystal because the make up of the sapphire crystal reflects more light. In the comparison of the two displays the camera defiantly shows the effects of the sapphire crystal glass as it looks the same brightness as the ion x but a little cloudy

Appleinsider tested in the daylight, it is definitely 2 1/2 times brighter.

I think the black pixels are more blacker so the brightness is looking slightly more in 6
How is the battery holding up compared to series 5? Series 5 for me is quite bad as by about 8 hours, it’s about 45%.

The S6 appears brighter than the S5 to my eyes. Not a huge diff though. The cumulative improvements make it worth the upgrade from S5 to S6 to me.
