The rock & roll band Blushing Brides from Kingston, Ontario formed around 1980, started by guitarist Paul Martin and singer Maurice Raymond. The only goal the guys seemed to have at first was to imitate the Rolling Stones, their favorite group. Other early members of the Blushing Brides are guitarist James Green, drummer Richard "Ricco" Berthiaume, and bassist Martin Van Dijk. By 1981, the Blushing Brides had caught the interest of a number of labels, including some major ones. The members had also gone from being fan-loving copycats to performing a list of crowd-pleasing original numbers. A year later, the band had signed with RCA Records and finished recording a satisfactory debut album, Unveiled. The band's first hit came from that full-length effort, "What You Talkin' About." - Charlotte Dillon, Allmusic
saw these guys a dozen times in the 80s they were the best STONES cover band ever. I remember buying this record at SAM the record man and played it till the needle wore out. GREAT SONG.
OMG... The Brides came up in conversation the other day. I'd forgotten just how great the band was.... I've got a vintage(really old) photo of you in mid air performing at St. Peters ball park in Saint John... circa 1982 ish. Love to see you perform again and from the more recent videos, you all still have the skills.
First saw the Blushing Brides in the early 80's at Entex nightclub Mississauga. The Stones were, and still are my favorite band so I was excited to see this band. What a great show! This was over 35 years ago. Canada's greatest Stones tribute band.
My daughter and I saw The Blushing Brides just last Friday night at BluMartini in Kingston, their and our hometown. The acoustics in that bar really suck, but the band was great! If you close your eyes, you'd swear it was the real Rolling Stones.
If memory serves me right. Maurice Raymond - Paul Martin -James green - Rico berthiume on drums . Best stones band ever. They rocked uncle SAMs / the channel/ compass lounge/ living room / etc whenever they played . They and The Machine were the best of their or any time
these were way ahead of there time when it came to tribute bands anybody remember the whooligans(the who tribute band from T O)i also remember Jagger saying that this was the best tribute he's seen.i mention this to the band i presently play that we should cover this .hope ithey want to great band period.
I was a student at UNB in Fredericton, New Brunswick, Canada from 79 to 84. These guys performed a few times in the local bars and on campus. My buddy was a huge Stones fan and would never pass up going to a show. I remember one of their signature moves was to turn off all the stage lights and for Maurice to swing a 'trouble light' (an extension cord with a lightbulb on the end) over his head. If you are lovin' the music and you're hammered on house draft, there's nothing more impressive.
Found my copy of the Brides 4 song Mini LP with the "legs & garter" b&w cover! Sung in French, "SEUL", "CHANGEMENT", "TOUT OUBLIER" &" MA LADY" were also released in English on the "UNVEILED" lp. Maurice pouvait chanter en Francais with the best of them!! Good Stuff!Cheers!!

I saw these guys 3 years ago. I was so DISAPOINTED> they didn't play this or any of their own songs. I still love them and this brings back so many memories, but again I was disapointed they wouldn't do it. even with several requests frrom the crowd.:;(
Loved these guys from day one. Yeah it helps the Stones were one of my favourite bands. Wish the Stones had done "What You Talkin About" that would have topped it off.
