Sometimes a rock band has one of the four main elements, but rarely does a band have all four: a super-talented and musical genius lead guitarist, a steady-as-a-rock bassist, a master drummer, and a lead singer who dominates the stage. The Who had all four, and they had them first. You can't say that about the Beatles, Stones, AC/DC, Aerosmith or any other group since the Who. They are the complete rock band.
@@Penfold-zr2be after 76, ZEP probably had the upper hand once The ‘Oo deteriorated… anything before that goes to the The Who… no way you match their energy
This performance of “Roadrunner” -as part of the longer “My Generation” medley -is from The Who’s concert at Pontiac Stadium (Pontiac, Michigan) on December 6, 1975.
I think we all AGREE....they DON"T Make MUSIC and they DON"T Make Bands like this ANYMORE! I can't even find what I can call music in 2022 without a DEADLY SERIOUS SEARCH and only after much disappointment, I may find something...OK. But these guys were MASTERS!

Zeppelin
@@cannonsavage741 no. The Who were THE FIRST!!!! Zep outdid them by 74-75 imo, but The Who had all four first..

Best version of roadrunner they did. I like this riff by Pete
In their prime... the best.... period
Ouais mais Keith Moon à l' air d'un con avec sa chemise Esso
A reason why Entwistle, Geddy, McCartney, and JPJ are remembered.

Best pick scrape in history! 4:50 Takes you head off!
Love the way Pete says *POW!* as he does it ...
Wrong year. December 6, 1975. Pontiac Metropolitan Stadium (Silverdome). I was there standing right in front of John Entwistle.
@Larry McLeod • Are your ears OK, mate...?
@@sirandrelefaedelinoge when the ringing stopped after 2 or 3 days I was fine.
Rumor has it that Entwhistle hasn't moved since 76.

I couldn't have said it better
And they had more fun back then.
Year is wrong. . It’s 75’ I was there . They didn’t play Pontiac again till 79’
Peu importe la date, c'est l'époque où Keith Moon portait H24 sa chemise Esso, d'ailleurs il avait l'air d'un con avec
@@huberthits1812speaking of YOURSELF I see
Same wardrobe for all 4 in Ft. Worth on March 16, ‘76. They played this there as well.
THE WHO , SUPER GENIUSES ( sorry Willie Coyote ! )
When you know you know.
There’s the Who , and then there’s everyone else.
Is this the tour that Lynyrd Skynyrd was the opening acr?If so,between the two bands that is some incredible live talent.
Toots and the Maytals were the opening act on this tour. Lynyrd Skynyrd supported The Who on the Fall Out Shelter Tour of 1973.
At this concert, Toots and the Maytals got boo’d off the stage.
the best
Ever
I'm guessing Townshend is imitating Chuck Berry.
1975
Watch and learn Zeppelin. Live firepower you could only dream of matching.
So if this is dec 6 75 Keith only had 33 months to go maybe that room was cursed
C'est surtout cette chemise Esso dégueulasse qu'il portait tout le temps à cette époque qui lui a porté malheur, il avait l'air d'un con avec
Didn’t Moon have a beard in ‘76?
I think you’re right. This is actually 1975.
En 76 il ne mettait plus sa chemise Esso, d'ailleurs il avait l'air d'un con avec
