Two years earlier ('72) in Las Vegas, Faces appeared outside at the LV Stadium. Brand new facility, but maybe the worst conditions that day for hearing music. First, the stadium sits in the eastern part of the valley, which is the lowest, so in the summer, which is when this concert took place, it was a zillion degrees. On top of that, the wind was howling- it was like a blast furnace. Too bad, because Faces then, (original band) were an incredible live act, especially in a smaller venue.

Ronnie has to remain in the background in the Stones and he must not upstage Keef which is a shame as although Keef is a legend Ronnie is a far better guitarist!

I love the 70's basic stage setups... Deep Purple's Made In Japan (recorded in '72), and the mighty Zep's TSRTS ('73) both had the drum kit on the stage at the same height as the band... here we are one year later, and we've got a short riser of a foot or two... but who tf thought it was a good idea to have the keyboard player with his back to the rest of the band? 😂
