Just the same Bobbys Archive, out of sync or not, great footage from an era when there wasnt enough video/audio recordings of live material of these early pioneers of the popular modern rock/blues genre - especially bands like The Who. They were the onset of the hard-rock genre with great physical stage presence and showmanship. No one played like them live and wish there was more live footage of The Who during that late 60s, early 70s period. I was fortunate to have seen them in Aug '71, the week Who's Next album was released and saw much of that repertoire along with much of their previous material. That young strong stage exuberance was still very much intact. Great show. Great fans. Great time I'll nevet forget. Thank you Bobbys Archive.
I love reading from fans who got to experience The Who in their prime. I would’ve loved to be alive to see it. I also wish there was more footage, especially of Keith and John. Thank you for commenting and watching my friend.
I bought this record in Toronto in 1971 (I think). I was stoned and carried the record around with me the whole evening. When I got home I put headphones on and cranked the stereo up and will never forget listening to it for the first time. As a garage band bass player John Entwistles playing blew me away, and still does. Can’t believe he’s hardly shown in this video. Great band, great performance, great recording and very cool inserts in the record sleeve.
I saw the Who live in 1982; it was hands down the greatest concert I have ever seen, nothing has ever come close. It was actually a "religious experience." I was lifted to a spiritual plane so high that I didn't want to go back to mundane life.
@vetbcrazy That’s a great memory. He was a power drummer, but he was unlike any other drummer. I loved watching and listening to him play. Was that in Michigan? Thanks for sharing.
Fortunate enough to see The Who and Zeppelin many times during the 70s at MSG. Both gave great live performances! The creativity of Jimmy Page and Plant on stage was amazing to listen to. The Who not only played amazingly tight on stage, they were LOUD. The interaction between Moon and Townshend was fun to watch and Entwistle's bass lines were off the chart -- best bass player that I have ever seen. Tough to say who was the better live act -- Zeppelin for Page's amazing guitar solos and innovation, or The Who's ability to rock the house and also give you the unexpected.
i remember it well!! it was played so much by my friends that i got tired of hearing it!! 54 years later... it is great to hear (and see) and appreciate the who's great talent again!! "they got sweet f*ckall!!" indeed.
The angriest, most aggressive four minutes of rock music ever recorded from the greatest live rock album of all time. They were at their peak in 70-71, there was simply no one else that came within a country mile of them live.
The Who were truly incendiary during that time. You had Tommy (1969), Live at Leeds (1970), Who'd Next (1971), Quadraphenia, 9 has perfect origin of Mods recodrs in
When a band listens to eachother and reacts, spontaneous creativity, miss it so much. Why I probably won't ever play drums again. Learned from the best, they all did it.
HERE IS A "REAL" ROCK BAND!! I saw The Who about this time in their careers. They were totally outrageous but at the same time excellent in their musicianship.
This was originally recorded by the Who in early 1970 and the whole structure of the song and the riff always makes me think of a song that was recorded a year later: Black Dog
Wow!!! Imagine how great this band would've been with a bass player, also! Bought this album in the 80s, wore it out, never realized it was an SG Pete was shredding all that time (should've recognized the tone). Sadly, it probably met the same fate as many of his axes.😢 Iconic, classic, visceral yet virtuosity from four HOF talents melding at their peak 👏 👌 😍
1978 Sammy Hagar sang a different version of this tune from his " All Night Long " release, just as hard rocking, too. This 1 kicks a little hard to my rump, though.
The video kind of links up, but the big giveaway is Daltrys different shits. I wish they had a video from the original performance of Live At Leeds. This song is the best version, and you can hear it here.
Ce ne serait pas un montage avec des séquences tirées de 3 concerts différents ? Woodstock, Isle of Wright Festival et Live at Leeds ? D'un plan à l'autre la batterie de Moonie n'est pas la même et Townshend semble avoir les cheveux plus ou moins longs selon les plans 🤔

Saw The original Who with Keith Moon - Front Row - when Keith Died that was the end of The Who !
Live at Leeds..! Best Who album in their splendid catalog
At the peak of their powers The Who were one of the greatest live acts on the planet… absolutely phenomenal! ❤
I was A young man when I first heard this album, back when it first came out,now Im pushing seventy, and it still kicks ass.
One of the best live albums.
Oh Yes!
Possibly only bettered by Humble Pie's Performance Live at the Filmore and maybe Hawkwind's Space Ritual...
@michaelhayward7572 Humble Pie truly rocked hard.
Greatest live band! Raw power, energy, high volume, pure talent.
Blasting this song over and over in my 1970 AMX--I sure miss being young!
Keith Moon at his 😮VERY best here... an outstanding drummer ..
Transforming a clever little Mose Allison tune into an epic angry live performance. Gotta love this.

Awesome story! I’m from Ontario. Thank you for sharing
I noticed John hardly being noticed but you sure couldn't help but hear him!
One of the greatest live rock albums of all time 🙏👍🙏👍
Not one of the best. It is the best live album ever made!
The Bass parts were added later
His tracks were lost
The Oxx is the Best Ever
I saw the Who live in 1982; it was hands down the greatest concert I have ever seen, nothing has ever come close. It was actually a "religious experience." I was lifted to a spiritual plane so high that I didn't want to go back to mundane life.
A rage for every age of humanity. Powerful!
EXPLOSIVE ENEGY ...........the whole thing is stunning .........
The Who at their peak, its terrible getting old 😢
John Entwhistle the best lead guitarist on Bass ever.
I could watch him play for hours on end.
Keith Moon is the GOAT drummer.
I saw him. Pontiac Silverdome.
@@taze317 I saw him at Southfield High School playing on the tennis court in 1968.
@vetbcrazy That’s a great memory. He was a power drummer, but he was unlike any other drummer. I loved watching and listening to him play.
Was that in Michigan?
Thanks for sharing.
Was my favorite track by this awesome band, has been on the black and green sparkeled sampler POT-ENT from Polydor 1970, was worth 10 Mark in Germany
A million songs by The Who I have heard. This is my all-time favorite of them, Leeds 1970 version.
Saw the Who in UK for first time in 1963 in their very early days. They blew me away. Never anyone like them before or since.
I wish there was actual live footage of this kickass recording of " Young man Blues"
Agree @least we got complete Hull and Leeds shows 🌟🌟
Massive setlist explosive 🧨🧨🧨 Who 👑
Keiths drumming always makes this old man young again
Iconic Performance!! 👍👍👍
This particular performance is so powerfull and locked-in it seems to levitate in the middle.
Roger Daltry: Vocals
Pete Townsend: guitar
John Entwhistle: Bass
Keith Moon: Lead Drums
Yeah, Moon, Lead Drums!
Ladies and gentlemen!!! The Who!!!
Flawless mastery of the genre.
saw them july 71 @ the warehouse new orleans - totally knocked my young ass out - cheers and thanks from the delta for this

The Who was a magic rock band. Incredible songs and playing of all. One of the best rock bands ever.
I didn’t know any of this was available on video I just love this album
Pete rocking those Hiwatt amps and the SG. Classic.
Awesome. ✌️
Great Work !!! 👏👏

G tru dat, especially they re- leased the Tommy disc with it, knew there were more songs on the original

1971…BTW…a phenomenal time to be a “young man”!
Best live album ever! I wish Entwistle was shown. Each instrument is playing “lead”.
Okeeee LAAAH 😂😂😂
Thanks for your SONG
GOD BLESS everyone
Barakallah fiikum 😂😂❤❤❤❤
This era of the Who is essential listening Tommy, live at Leeds (,full new CD) Who's next (extended)....The Who was right there on top...
I think Live at Leeds is the best live recording of all time they could never capture that live sound again
Incredible, awesome sound and camera work. The band in awesome form that night.
Forever absolut Top!!!
pretty good job on syncing.
Still excellent. Looks and sounds great. Totally captures the anger and energy of the band, notably Townshend and Moon. 🤘
@@PeterJVogel Thank you for watching!
👏 👏 👏 👏 👏 👏 👏 Curto esse som desde quando foi lançado, tinha 13 anos na época. Hoje tô com 66. Sensacional!!!
Obrigado por assistir
This tune and ‘ Substitute ‘ are definitely up on the top 10 heaviest rock tunes ever recorded.
I'm agree
So good. Did Robert Plant mimic Rodger Daltry? Seems like it. I like R. Daltry's voice better.
Pete Townsend must be ranked as one of the greatest Rock guitarists of all time... Top 5 without a doubt.
I regret I never saw them live
Where's that SG right now??? Asking for a friend!!!
@@paulwortman483 Most of them were destroyed. Look up the list of guitars Pete Townshend smashed on the gear page on whofans dot net 😁😮
HERE IS A "REAL" ROCK BAND!! I saw The Who about this time in their careers. They were totally outrageous but at the same time excellent in their musicianship.
energia che entra nelle vene e spara dritta al cuore, THE WHO la storia del Rock le radici del Rock!
Bought that record when it came out & probably played it til the grooves were white! Saw them 3 times!
What a performance! ❤
God I loved this song when I was young. It gave me a real attitude, good or bad.
This was originally recorded by the Who in early 1970 and the whole structure of the song and the riff always makes me think of a song that was recorded a year later: Black Dog
But this was live, no studio tricks. Led Zep's Black Dog was famous in it's released studio version including multiple layers of guitar overdubs.
The version of this song on “The Kids are Alright” album, live at the London Coliseum in 1969 is the best IMO.
I think this is the best that Keith moon aver played was this concert . Thank you and have a good day
You hardly see John but you can hear his bass
You had to be there 😎
Wow!!! Imagine how great this band would've been with a bass player, also!

No other rock band could emulate this............classic rock music.....

Great video. Thank you Bobby.
@@donjaniegulick8135 Thank you for watching!
Sunetul la Young Man Blued este de la Leeds 1970 dar imaginile NU sunt de la Leeds. Totuși un mixaj reușit.
Actually from Live at Leeds, the greatest live album ever made…
One of the best band ever ❗❗❗
Man I would of loved to see them live. Hey not complaining one bit. This is 👍
The video kind of links up, but the big giveaway is Daltrys different shits. I wish they had a video from the original performance of Live At Leeds. This song is the best version, and you can hear it here.
pretty obvious Townshend is not the guitarist on most of Live at Leeds album, but we always knew that.
@@jacknumberone600 wtf are you talking about. There’s literally an audience bootleg and footage
Mose Allison song. A mighty jazz pianist an' songwriter. Mississippi boy.
Fantástico
Has there ever been a better live band?:
No! Never been a better live band.
Live at Leeds. That’s the audio.
Ce ne serait pas un montage avec des séquences tirées de 3 concerts différents ? Woodstock, Isle of Wright Festival et Live at Leeds ? D'un plan à l'autre la batterie de Moonie n'est pas la même et Townshend semble avoir les cheveux plus ou moins longs selon les plans 🤔
Nobody can touch Keith......nobody
Keith Moon: genius rock drummer.
È Storia❤
The mighty Who.really, after Moonie there was no Who.
The drummer they have now is more than good. Just can't beat the insanity of Keith
Keith era fabuloso!
People were mean back in the day.
That is not a live version. Just good editing
@@curtc.6914 Video is sync’ed/edited, audio is live though. Sources are in description.
Is this from Woodstock?
Maybe the best and only , magic bus is another, no more.
Daltry changes clothes fast. ....
Their “Woodstock” Sound…
Pete rarely gets credit for this guitar playing rarely......pity Clapton, Page , Richards , Beck ........no Pete
Joe bonamassa mejor versión 🎸
The Who é muito grande!
Led imitava o who.
Where's the Time Machine? 🤣👍
When someone ask me: do you believe in god? I say : Pete Townsend!
